I thought this was an interesting take on the shooter.

4vs4 with the goal being to cover the map with your team colour. win the game by covering 50%+ of the map.
switch between squid and human, with the former being more mobile through the ink

Show Your True Colors

Splatter enemies and claim your turf as the ink-spewing, squid-like characters called Inklings in Nintendo's new third-person action shooter game for the Wii U console. Challenge your friends in chaotic four-on-four matches, in which the goal is to get your ink on as many places as possible and claim your turf, all while strategically submerging yourself in your team's colors and blasting your enemies. This is a colorful and chaotic online third-person action shooter – exclusively on Wii U.*

FEATURES:

Team up and take on other teams in an action-filled battle to cover the level with as much ink as possible. Spray walls to access hard-to-reach areas.
Covering more territory with ink unlocks powered-up super weapons that can be used to attack rivals or cover more turf.
Strategy is everything. Defeat enemies to splatter them in an explosion of ink, covering more turf for your team. But choose wisely: Players who only go after the enemy might find their turf redecorated in their enemies' colors.
Refill ink tanks, hide from opponents or move faster by turning into a squid and diving into the ink with the tap of a button.
Select between multiple control options on the Wii U GamePad controller, including using gyroscopic controls to look around, allowing for better aiming and control.
Hop online and battle in four-on-four matches.
*Broadband Internet access required for online play. For more info, go to support.nintendo.com.
Additional accessories required for multiplayer mode; sold separately.

Nintendo had the best presentation.... nothing dragged on, you could digest what you were watching. Nothing looked bad.

I've been jaded to nintendo for a while... but I will pick up a wii U soon.

This game legit surprised me. I was ready to shrug it off when they first showed it, but the more they talked about the more interesting it seemed. Color me impressed.

Another 2015 game? What do they actually have releasing in the remaining months of 2014 - Smash 3DS (10/3), Hyrule Warriors (9/26), Pokemon (11/21)... Any physical games I'm forgetting?

This game looks spectacular. Huge surprise that Nintendo could come out with something like this.

I really want to play this.

Easily the most interesting game of the Nintendo digital event and up there as far as FPS' of the show goes.

How they handle traversal is very interesting, and I certainly hope it's more than territory control when it comes to modes. I think territory control alone would be pretty shitty, a game like this needs objective-heavy gameplay.

Looked really good. Not sure about the part where you're barely able to walk on the enemy's ink but I guess you have enough options to avoid that happening.

One of the most interesting games announced next to Inside, ive been waiting for a Nintendo competitive shooter and their take on their genre is great as I imagined. I hope is playable.

And yes, you can tell those three guys have amazing weed parties.

Quite a welcomed surprise for me. The gameplay just looked like so much fun! Curious to see how the Wii U holds up during 4 on 4 with all the paint particles flying around.

This game looks fucking awesome. Love the designs and mechanics. Kinda wish the game looked more "flat" graphically though, like Jet Set-ish.

I think this looks incredible, but I'm concerned about (1) Nintendo gimping online, i.e. voice chat and (2) pricing. Nintendo's track record lead me to believe it'll be a full priced game without essential online functionality, but I hope they prove me wrong. Either way, looks like a great little game.

This looked really creative and neat to me, like a blend of Portal 2 gel mechanics with other area control shooter arena stuff.

The paint-roller "kill" at the end was kind of brutal, I cracked up.

This is ultimately the only thing left for Nintendo is to appeal to people enough to be worthy of second console purchase. They've lost their ability to acquire that Wii audience again, so the best they can hope for is Gamecube numbers of hardcore gamers that still want to play Nintendo games.

Games like this will get those gamers onboard and help sales. It's still a fantastic system as a secondary console. It's just too difficult to recommend it as your only console due to how many games are missing it. And that's cool. They're making me think about picking up another one. I sold my Wii-U last year...

The more they showed about the more interested I got.

Really looks amazing. Love the character design as well.

Really like the idea, nice way of approaching a shooter for them.

Looking forward to hear about all the features.

Nice, interesting game mechanics.
Listening to devs talk about game mechanics is a million times more interesting than listening to a dev or some talking head blab on about immersion or experiences or other shitty buzzwords
