Splatoon (Nintendo 4x4 team shooter, Wii U, 2015)

This looked like it could be a lot of fun and i'm someone that usually is not interested in MP shooters at all.Really unique and solid gameplay concept.

When they first revealed it I thought it was going to be like that tech demo out of Digipen (and that was subsequently absorbed in Portal 2?) about painting the world to imbue different aspects to those surfaces. Having it be a competitive shooter on a console makes it significantly less interesting.

Does this have offline co-op? As in one player on the Pad and another can play thru the TV?

My niece and nephew LOVE deBlob 2, as they call it the 'coloring game' so they'd def. be interested in this.

I think this looks incredible, but I'm concerned about (1) Nintendo gimping online, i.e. voice chat and (2) pricing. Nintendo's track record lead me to believe it'll be a full priced game without essential online functionality, but I hope they prove me wrong. Either way, looks like a great little game.
Yeah, I would love to be proven wrong, but expectations are underground to start.

Something else I'm worried about is the "hiding" mechanic. If it's not identified by some sort of bump in the paint or noticeable enough, could be toxic to gameplay.

This really surprised me, at first I was meh, a family-friendly shooter by Nintendo, but it looks really cool and colourful, I love how the ink splatters around. And it seems like it has some really cool mechanics. It will thrive or strive on the netcode and the community alone however. Hope it makes it!

I'm impressed. New IP in a genre they usually don't do, tons of clever ideas. Exactly what people had been asking for, no?

This might be the star of E3 for me apart from Inside and Gunman Clive 2.

It's like a mix of Blob and Team Fortress with a fuckton of colors. I'm way excited for this. Creative concept for sure.

One of the biggest announcements of the show for me. Zelda looks amazing, but it was expected. This looks exciting and was a total surprise.

It looks very not Nintendo, but also very cool. The depth of switching between squid and human mode is apparent. It allows Nintendo to compete in a great genre without compromising their core values. I'm looking forward to it.

Looks so good - shame it's 2015 because it looked ready to go.

People have suggested Nintendo do a paintball FPS for a long time - this is takes that idea and adds some really cool traversal mechanics. Can't wait.

The main focus of the game is about painting the world, not simply death match. Simply hiding out when you can't mark your territory seems like enough of a disadvantage.

Wow, a shooter with no gun and where the goal isn't to shoot or in any way harm other people. Cool beans Nintendo, I'll try this out.

Yeah but I'd take a new IP over... wait, that excuse doesn't work anymore :c

That looked like a really fun game btw! I was impressed!

I think everything Nintendo showed off was a knockout but this was definitely something that stuck out and I'm really anticipating. My only concern is the control because they never explicitly stated dual analog but they did talk about using the gyroscope.
