Splatoon (Nintendo 4x4 team shooter, Wii U, 2015)

Like, for real, the moment I saw the squid girl design, I was thinking about how to make that squid hair tenticle thing. This game is charming as fuck.

Yeah, I'm hoping Nintendo is smart enough to pack it full of different modes. Lots of maps, different gameplay types, and loads and loads of weapons.
Yeah I commented on this in the Treehouse thread. I'll just copy and paste my thoughts from there.

I like how it says "Turf War" at the beginning of every game. It gives me hope that there will be different game modes. I can just imagine Capture The Flag with these mechanics. Zipping in and out of enemy bases. It'd be like oldschool laserhook Quake 2 CTF. Don't disappoint me Nintendo!

It gives me hope that the game could turn into something as fast as this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pEuUNhjSF-A

Here's a match from a server I used to play on: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TItufts4oOY

This was a huge surprise and looks fresh and with a lot of potential. My concern is that they don't think over all the implications and the game turns out to be less fun to play at higher levels of skill.

Best surprise of E3 to me. This looks extremely fun, the more they talked about it the more I was hoping they'd say 2014, but whatever I'm getting this.

I feel like this game is made for a 2x2x2x2 online mode. I feel like that's where it would really shine.

Can you imagine all those colors around the field? I really hope they do that too.

Eh? Whoever said it's an eShop title? It looks like retail to me.

I did see it on Amazon.com for preorder. In any case, this had me smiling so much, loved to see the creators of this game introducing it themselves! Nintendo's gotta build a userbase of online connected players so this and their many other titles should be helpful in doing that.

A legitimate twist on a multiplayer shooter, paint me interested (and shoot me dead). I hope it's full of interesting modes and features to justify full price.

Is this going to be a full retail title or an eshop game? I assume full retail. The marketing on this looks kind of tough in the US. How did Plants vs Zombies Garden Warfare do (seems like the closest recently released title)?

I felt like a kid all over again watching this game, I just want to go play it; and after all of the gritty gray/brown dudebro Hollywood shooters from the Microsoft and Sony presentations, this was a breath of fresh air. "Game of the show" for me.

Simply perfect!

A charming, unexpected new IP, made by Nintendo internally, introducing lovely new characters and new dynamic worlds in addition to brilliant looking new gameplay, and to top it off it's an online multiplayer shooter!

WOW

Together with everything else shown, this E3 is on the way to become the best Nintendo E3 ever, and it's not even over yet!

Wait.

You're telling me that a new IP was announced which is actually based around a new gameplay idea?

At E3?

Is this real life?

Looks really funny. As a deBlob orphan this is the closest to that concept Ive seen, so its on my radar!

This looks like so much fun and it has really unique gameplay mechanics. I also really like the character designs. Hope this game will turn out well.

People don't think that's how it be, but it do.

Seriously though, it's not my game of show, but it is a must buy if they make it feature rich.

Yes, if it's just a multiplayer game with one mode and nothing else, it's a no go from me. But flesh out the multiplayer, maybe have a cool single player campaign(like De Blob maybe), and I'm definitely interested.

I don't think the people complaining about Nintendo Network have played MK8/MH3U online. Both work on par with my online experiences on other consoles.

Now whether or not Nintendo chooses voice chat is an other story (they should), but if PS360 shooters can handle vfoice chat during shooters, I don't see why this shouldn't be able to.
CoD on Wii U has feature parity with all other platforms. The account system is lacking but the infrastructure gets a bad rep for no reason. The complaints are way the hell overblown.
