How do people would feel if we are getting only one victory pose per characters instead of three victory poses.?
So anyone on the east coast playing soon?
Yes, they should. In an ideal scenario, wouldn't you just rather play an official Smash 4 that works competitively? It's like you guys didn't even read my post and you just saw the PM criticism. You don't have to play it if you don't want to, its a fan mod. Should everyone else be deprived of it because you don't like it?
Project M symbolizes a unnecessary divide between the Smash players and Nintendo, and we DO NOT need that in this community. Despite not being a huge fan, I've long accepted Project M's place in our scene, I just don't want a repeat. What does project M symbolise? Other than making brawl a decent competitive game rather than the piss-poor competitive game that it is by default?
So anyone on the east coast playing soon?
fuck all this lucas being cut talk
jesus christ
Yes, but TeamFake has an actual leg to stand on since they can say the models are different. TeamReal is dealing with a possibility that cannot be proven, which if I recall was the criticism they gave TeamFake when suggestion such like the model was fanmade were brought up. I mean does it really matter to say TeamFake won? It was just a bit of fun. It's not like suddenly everyone has to adopt a new avatar or something.Nope, and thats why neither team real or team fake will ever be satisfied, unless the faker comes out and admits it.
You need the Brawl disc to play Project M. it's a mod not a standalone game so they are still playing Brawl. I'm just calling things as they are.The competitive brawl community and the competitive P:M community are different though, so what he says is somewhat true.
Is this final? Have people held down a button to force other animations? I mean we're talking about people reluctant to scroll through character costumes here. How do people would feel if we are getting only one victory pose per characters instead of three victory poses.?
She was terrible.
I am more shocked by Hugs lack of Leaf Shield use. Seems like a move Megaman should use a lot.
So anyone on the east coast playing soon?
Yep. Got my camera ready.
Has anyone been able to guess the resolution of the game? Is it a beautiful 1080p for sure? It has some of the best IQ on Wii U.
Project M is a mod of Brawl that makes it more like Melee. I do not see why people are so into it. The best thing it does IMO is gets rid of tripping.

"I hope Sakurai does whatever it takes to keep something like Project M from ever happening again."
Translation: I hope Sakurai can make the game competitively viable enough so that competitive players won't feel the need to heavily mod the game and further divide the Smash scene from Nintendo.

Oh, I just noticed that we got Pink Link!![]()
How does an opinion make me look idiotic? I don't like what Project M symbolizes, I don't like the execution of Project M and I don't like the prospect of getting another one. Why is that a big deal?
Not sure if this was posted, but from an hour ago:

I can't imagine anything too big after yesterday, but who knows. My bet is on amiibo stuff.
SOMEONE ACTUALLY BOTHERED TO SELECT AN ALTERNATIVE COLOUR!?!Oh, I just noticed that we got Pink Link!![]()
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SZjG9gkgr0Y (Living Room Footage)Are there any direct audio captures other than gamexplain's one smash run vid?
When you can prove that it wasn't an 'in progress, un-finalized render' of palutena.
Here is what we know is in there,
Old Melee
L-Cancel – doesn’t seem to be in
Wavedashing – Definitely no
Shield Drop – Yes
Short Hop – Yes
Old Brawl Techniques
Run–> Turnaround is doable
DACUS – No one could do it
Glide tossing – None
Laser Lock – similar to Falco Laser lock, We managed it with Pikachu
Edge Mechanics
- Invulnerability depends on a combination of:
o %
o Air Time
o Distance recovered
- No Edgehogging
o If you hold ledge, and someone else wants it after, you get kicked off
 After kickoff, lag before you can do an action
- Brawl Ledge grab -> Run, turnaround grab ledge
- Ledge regrab doesn’t give invulnerability (THANK GOD)
- Run off stage  somersault/tumble motion XX(cancellable) into action
- Run off stage  grab edge in tumble (only certain characters)
Throwing
- Delay after throwing someone. Really hard to follow up (!!!)
- No grab release infinites
- Mashing is doable *Unconfirmed*
Dashing
- Dash dancing is impossible
- Crouching to cancel dashing is impossible
- Pivot tilts are easy. Foxtrot is possible (F-Smash out of fox trot).
- Pivot F-smash is also doable
- Dashing is really questionable in this game
- U-Smash out of dash really easy (Flick C-stick)
- Standing grab out of full dash (shield+A, or shield + up cstick)
Spike
- Really Strong,
Crouch Cancel
- None
Shields
- No lightshielding
- Tilt shield is available
Out of Shield
- U-Smash out of shield very doable (Tested with Fox, same input as Melee)
- Shield grab available
Spot Dodge
- Really solid option
Air Dodge
- Multiple in one jump
- Air dodge  land = massive lag
Meteor Cancel
- Meteor cancel is available, seems difficult to execute (TV lag?)
Techs
- Buffer wall techs
DI
- Smash DI is not in (Tested with smart bombs) or significantly less than Melee? More testing needed
- DI is somewhat noticeable
Camera
- Doesn’t scale that well with people on edges/off-stage very well
-
Controls
- ¬Charge C-Stick smash attack charges
Ah my bad, I think the problem was just poor wording. I thought you wanted Sakurai to just force everyone to play the official version.Yes, they should. In an ideal scenario, wouldn't you just rather play an official Smash 4 that works competitively? It's like you guys didn't even read my post and you just saw the PM criticism.

Amiibo sounds about right. I am curious though how it will work cross-game. Like the Mario figures are probably limited to MP10 and MK8. I can not imagine putting a Link figure and it do something in Mario Party 10.Not sure if this was posted, but from an hour ago:

Real talk, I forget which character she was. If I figure that out, I can just as easily chalk those comments up to the biggest John ever and call it a day. :lol
I think Melee fans need to get over the fact Smash is probably never going to go back to being as deep and fast-paced as Melee was, Sakurai already said he considers Smash a party game so it seems like Melee was just a fluke on his part.
I hope Sakurai does whatever it takes to keep something like Project M from ever happening again. Kill it with fire.
I'm going to take notes on my phone of any new things I see, so if anybody is looking for something in particular, let me know!Link link or Toon Link?
Don't play with my heart!
Is there video or pic????
EDIT: PEOPLE FOR THE LOVE OF GOD
RECORD THE COLORS LOL
Or take some pics please!![]()

Well, that's more on Nintendo, as what did they think would happen if they invited a bunch of Melee/Project M players to play this?
Wasn't Peachyhime WFT?
What I've found most interesting is they keep showing two different Mario figures (the first one they showed, with Mario just standing, and the one of him in his Smash Bros. pose). So, are certain characters getting multiple figures that do different things, or was that first one just a placeholder?Amiibo sounds about right. I am curious though how it will work cross-game. Which is why Nintendo is doing a pathetic amount of pandering to the Melee community with the Gamecube controller adapter, releasing a new Smash branded Gamecube controller, bundling those with the game in a $100 package, and even acknowledging the competitive community with the freaking E3 Invitational. None of those ever happen without the Melee community, still playing the game at Evo.
Maybe Nintendo doesn't want us to enjoy any future Smash games in a 1v1 competitive environment, but they desperately want our money.
If someone gets offended because someone else insults a video game they don't like they should probably grow up a little. It's a video game.Well you see, when your first post says "Kill it with fire," people who are fans of Project M will probably take offense. And judging by how defensively diplomatic this followup is, I'm guessing you quickly realized your opinion would be quickly questioned.
I hope Sakurai does whatever it takes to keep something like Project M from ever happening again. Kill it with fire.

It's amazing the conclusions some in this fandom will jump to about an unfinished game.
Talk about biting the hand that feeds you. It's not Nintendo's fault she played terribly. This just screams of ungratefulness.
On a bit of a tangent, let's talk about a mechanic I noticed that I don't think enough people were talking about. Did anyone else notice that certain spikes/meteor moves (Mario's fair most prominently) cause a forced ground bounce on a character struck with it during the invitational?
Don't get me wrong, I think it was a good call on their part to get those people; it really did send a message of "we don't hate the Smash community." But, yeah, of course we were going to stuff like Peachyhime's comment, though in her defense she posted some positive stuff about Villager on her Twitter account. They got the most notable people to hype up a tourney. So on that, they made some good choices. But this reaction, I could see it coming from a mile away. The Melee community isn't going to change. What's more, people thinking they can intuit future meta games is the most over stated ability of gamers.
I'm not weaseling my way out of anything. I still don't like Project M, but I've already accepted that it exists and that it's popular. I wasn't referring to Project M when I said kill it with fire, I was referring to the ideas that are forming in people's head of a Smash 4 Project M.Your first post said "kill it with fire", you will not weasel your way out of this.
Only Peachyhime reacted in a way that is just dumb. Don't group everyone who participated in the event like that.Well, that's more on Nintendo, as what did they think would happen if they invited a bunch of Melee/Project M players to play this? And they should be able to voice their honest opinions. It just seems silly to say the game is basically a lost cause when Sakurai made a point to repeat it's still in development and they do seem to legitimately be taking feedback into consideration. Still, it is a Facebook post that she maybe just posted in passing, so I'm trying not to read too much into it.
It was.Has this been posted yet?
Already looks like it's going to be better than Brawl

So, who really one between #TeamReal and #TeamFake?
Nobody. You guys are too focused on disproving the other's shit and you both need to be appreciative Smash 4 is a thing that is happening. Everyone has to wear Sweet Bro and Hella Jeff avatars.

Hope it didn't come off that way, as I didn't mean for it too. Honestly, I'm not even that upset with her, I just think it wasn't the most tactful way to present criticism.Only Peachyhime reacted in a way that is just dumb. Don't group everyone who participated in the event like that.
Call him out for an opinion? Maybe you should adjust your priorities of what you think you need to call people out for.And if he doesn't want people to call him out then maybe he should choose them more carefully.
He said something that had nothing to do with you and expressed his opinion on something he didn't like. You took offense to something you probably had nothing to do with. It's not far off from fanboyism. Out of the two of us I'd say you're the one who needs to grow up.I've seen this same, tired strawman for years now. Come back when you grow up a little, please.
