I just don't think he's a very distinctive character in the context of the roster we already have or the franchise he's supposed to represent. At the end of the day, he's another blue-haired sword-Lord, from a series that has a lot more than that in terms of play-style and characters. I don't even really want Lucina for that reason. Maybe Sakurai has some good ideas for him, but I'd rather just see... someone else.

I didn't hear about that part so I guess thats it huh? Sakurai doing like Brawl, revealing the majority of newcomers with mostly veterans as unlockables.
Really surprised with no Dixie, Takamaru and honestly Ridley. Still with DLC characters anything is possible!!!
Even if we got no new characters outside the leak I am cool with what we have. DK and Bowser were so fun to play as at E3! They just felt very right this time around. And for a 3rd and maybe 4th main I've got Sonic, Mac and Charizard to choose from.

I actually really like most of the new comers. Only one I'm not too fond of is Villager. I just don't really care for Animal Crossing. Not that I mind him though. I know the series is really popular and the whole thing with his alts is pretty cool.

Well, I'm not entirely sure about those newcomers are being final newcomer, but who know since people could twisted the words out there. You need to find original source of 3rd leaks.
I think it might be best if we set our expectation low this time. I'm please with current roster but It would be awesome if we see Snake and Takamaru but no complaints from me tho.

I wish Mii was online capable even if it was just a generic Mii. Maybe that's harder to implement than it is to suggest.

I dont think its that complicated to pull off in all honestly
Smash 3DS seems so packed with content. You have the world map for Adventure Mode (?), intensity levels straight out of Kid Icarus, that huge fucking map where you collect powerups before battles. Oh my. I'm so glad I'm getting this sexy ass smash game, portable to boot. Going by the Nintendo Digital Event trailer the world map thing might be a more elaborate version of the event matches in Melee, since the shot of Zelda shows a mission parameter. Makes me happy 
Yeah, considering Mii data is so tiny it fit inside that tiny memory inside Wiimotes, it makes no sense. Speaking of which, can you still transfer Miis to Wiimotes? If you main a Mii you'd wanna bring your own over, after all

They're kinda stuck in a hard place because they need someone that's both recognizable and distinctive, and as you know the non-lord characters are unfortunately virtual unknowns outside of the FE fandom. At the same time all but one of the lords in the past 10 years or so fit into the same general mold.
I sincerely hope that IS make wildly different protags for the next couple of games just so that we don't need to see this problem again.

Despite wanting Palutena over everybody else who's been revealed so far besides Mega Man, I'm sort of conflicted on her reveal. I just really can't get a good read on how she'll play yet and I'm even more weirded out how Pac-Man and even Mii look more interesting to play as.
In terms of how much fun I think I'll have playing them:
Little Mac>Mega Man>Pac-Man>Rosalina>Mii>Palutena>Greninja>Villager>Wii Fit Trainer

Wolf's voice actor was probably my favorite out of Brawl's cast.
You're only supposed to receive them when you pickup your Best Buy preorder when the game comes out. At least that's what the rep in my area told us.

Oh cool, always nice when they shake things up. Haven't been interested in Smash since Melee, Brawl never quite captured me. Just realised you can remove the outlines in the 3DS game too. Sakurai is the master of settings.

Honestly, its shouldn't be hard at all. I play TLOU online. You choose a 'clan' for multiplayer. I'll try to explain this succinctly. If I'm in clan A and you're in Clan B we can still be on the same team and both of us see each other as the proper clan members. Basically it can make each individual see what it wants them to see.
So I don't see why I couldn't play as Abe Lincoln online with my Mii, and you see a generic 'non-offensive' Mii on your screen.
But hey, I'm not a dev and I have no idea what goes on behind the scenes.

I think the problem is while I loved Uprising, I usually avoided using most of the equip-able powers unless I absolutely had to, so there's no real "Oh cool they worked in that!" moments when I'm seeing them show off her moves as opposed to Mega Man and Pac-Man's reference-heavy moves.
I guess I just figured she'd use moves from some of the cartoon shorts and the Chaos Kin battle. Still going to give her a fair go since I wanted her in so much and I've been wrong about whether I'll take to a character's playstyle or not based off first appearances before, like ROB.

My biggest fear with Palutena is that I'm not going to like her default moveset but love her alternate ones but never get to use them or her much do to no custom/alt moves on random online.
Ofcourse he's #1 for the hype category yesterday from his final smash lol.
The newcomers are all great but Palutena was my most wanted. <3

personally while her actual special moves are more of the powers pit used her actual normals *that apparently op up-tilt(?) and her normals and stuff does seem to be more in line with what she used aside from crazy bullet spam lol

Well at least you'll have GAF to try her out with! I feel the same way about Falco and Mii since I know I'll get attached to how I customize them.
It might make sense to use Jamieson Price (Priam's VA) as a replacement. Though given Marth is using his Japanese voice from a decade ago, I wouldn't be optimistic.

Problem is that Palutena having an unique situation where Palutena and Mii would have completely 12 different moves for customization awhile rest of the characters would have 3 variations of their special moves.

Well, Palutena with Customized move sets are not allowed online mode, but they are allowed with friends only online tho. I wouldn't worry about that tho.
Mario got electric cape and gust cape, iirc.
There's also the fact that you can equip gear to change certain stats and attributes. When I play locally with friends, I fully plan to use my own personal customized variation of the characters I play as. However, online I'll be forced to use the default. It's only a minor inconvenience though and I completely understand why it's like this.
