Huge props for the OP writeups, coldman

You know, I have a sudden urge to draw a bunch of Giant Bomb trading cards now

No no. They'll cut out all of Dan's segments on the bombcast, leaving long periods of silence. This way, the audience will have the power to roleplay as the new hire.

This isn't an urge you contemplate. This is an urge you act on. Immediately.

I would Kickstart the shit out of a Giant Bomb themed collectable card game. But it would have to exclude Vinny from the hero selection, nobody would ever want to play against him.

I think it would work better as a Dominion-style deck building game than a CCG, personally. Then the Vinny card would be available to all.

edit - Come to think of it, I just taped out a broad concept for such a game in my head. This could work.

though the legal hassles of getting the permission to use all of the duders and memes as cards would be a pain in the ass

The lack of content over the last few days is both worrying and highly concerning on a personal level.

If we can whip up a bingo card for the MK8 Quick Look, surely we can do it for the Giant Bomb thread. I'm calling a Bingo along the diagonal with "Where's the content?", "No Bombcast this week?", "Jeff is jaded (Free Space)," "Brad is leaving," and "Why don't they bring back Endurance Run?"

Don't actually do this

Yeah. I was thinking the same thing. What does GB expect? For us to just re-watch the same content over and over again?

I do, I admit it. Seen some quick looks more then a couple of times already.

Never. If he wasn't a part of Giant Bomb when it happened he doesn't get one. GB is just going to have to do a whole new Endurance Run for another game and make portraits based on that game.

Persona 5 is in the works....

I've enjoyed their E3 coverage, particularly when they get to talking about the games and not some kind of meta conversation on what E3 is turning into (should we as the listeners really care? I want to hear about the games!)

But I wanted to just comment that I didn't like their "work / life balance" conversation. Did no one on their panel have a family? A wife or husband? It struck me as naive that they're all like "its ok to work 100 hours a week if you like your job and a creative person." Tell that to your SO or kid! But I'm sure they'll get there. Seemed like a young panel

Pretty sure alex, patrick and rorie aren't a part of giantbomb when it happened and they still got one.

You're letting them steal from you! New content is a must, all of the time.

Well, I will say that it would be nice to get a Day 2 and Day 3 show floor highlight video. Saw Day 1 and was like where are the rest?

That said, I will give them some slack given the live shows take a lot out. And I certainly expect them to generate tons of great content from their E3 week over the next several weeks

Eh... I wouldn't expect that.

I can't remember much from last year but I don't think that they did that much after what they initially posted during E3.

Still though, we got probably >12 hours of content from it. That's a lot.

I expect nothing less than a boring live stream with Jeff and Brad, only for music to start playing and a smoke machine starting up. After some feigned surprised, Dan comes crashing through a fake wall behind them like the fucking KoolAid man. Luchador mask optional.

The Shockmaster route?

Really curious to hear their impressions on No Man's Sky. Considering both Brad and Patrick went to see it (I think) I guess we'll get perspective from both on the AM show tomorrow as well as the podcast. Sweet.

That's absolutely not what they're advocating, but rather calling out the idea of work/life balance as a false dichotomy in and of itself. Even Zoe admitted to falling into extreme work habits, but understood why that isn't a sustainable way to live at all. Instead what they were talking about though is an acknowledgement that work is an integral aspect to one's life and therefore needn't be ruthlessly counterbalanced. By the end of it they were just saying to work smarter anyway.

Will there be an AM show tomorrow? Wouldn't expect it to not show up, but it's possible they'll be working hard to set up East Coast over the next couple of weeks, and E3 probably kinda stunted work that had been done.

I learned that he's actually younger than me and it's freaking me out lol

Oh and Happy Birthday lol

well it seems he's older than me so no worries here :p

and thanks

I wonder if Bloodbourne will also join that group or maybe the discussions it spawned throughout might be enough (although you have to know what you are looking for to find it) compared to just seeing No Man's Sky trailers

Yeah, absolutely. I've had problems with work/life balance the last couple of years, and it's taken a long time (and professional help) for me even be able to frame the issue. Work/life balance defined properly is allowing yourself to define your priorities correctly; it's possible that work might be something you legitimately enjoy more than any hobby you might pick up, and it's possible that work might be an ends to supporting your real priorities. The point is, it is completely individual, and many people only define "work-life balance" in one way.

Don't think so, pretty sure Patrick mentioned somewhere he was taking monday off.

Ah, wasn't aware. Hopefully the impressions are still fresh by Friday, then.

I'm sure they'll circle back to it in some capacity while recapping E3 on the bombcast, especially if they have Rorie on to fill a seat since he's a big souls fan.

Watching the E3 coverage videos now. Man Bradley has really let him self go this past year... he is quite the large man now. He is even starting to develop a second chin. Oh the other hand Jeff seems to look a bit healthier than last year.

The other thing that struck me is what an about-face they have done on the "Souls" type games in just 1 year. Not too long ago only Vinny was slightly positive about the series. But now everyone except Jeff are big fans.
