Am I the only one bothered by the fact that Snake doesn't say one goddamn thing in that opening scene, even when asked a question? I'm starting to think they paid Sutherland to record like, 5 lines.

What lines have we heard from Sutherland Snake so far?

"Chico... Chico!"

"We are Diamond Dogs."

"I won't scatter your sorrow to the heartless sea...I will always be with you"

"Kaz... I'm already a demon."

"Kaz, it's me! I'm gonna get you out of here."

"Spit it out!"

Are there any good interviews with Sutherland about Metal Gear Solid V?

I think he had maybe 2 pages worth of lines in GZ. I can only remember a few right now.

"What's up Huey?"

"The sea isn't giving her back..."

"What a load of bullshit."

"LIQUID!"

"Master...are you feeling Ok?"

"Make me proud!"

"This brings back some memories..."

"I can't remember..."

"A surveillance camera..."

"Kept you waiting huh?"

"**deathscream**

"**FirstAidSprayYell which sounds like "Hnnngh!"**

Don't forget the important line from the end of GZ.
"there's a snuke in her snizz."
It's hard to hear because of the
explosion
.

Motion blur btw

Yuk. Why would you do that!? You have 1080p/60FPS. YOU DON'T NEED MOTION BLUR

I think he's part of Big Boss' subsconscious.

Then there we have it.

Imagine if this game was like Fight Club, and Ishamael and Skullface are both aspects of Big Boss' subconscious.

AND SKULLFACE TAKES OVER AT THE END OF THE GAME, LEADING TO METAL GEAR 1 AND 2 CAUSE SOLID SNAKE REALLY FOUGHT THE SKULLFACE PERSONALITY THAT HIJACKED BIG BOSS!

All I ever heard from people when it came to Ground Zeroes was that there should be more motion blur, especially on PS4. In the comparison video between all four consoles, people noticed it was more pronounced on Xbox and wanted it for PS4.

I like the idea, but honestly this would ruin the Metal Gear franchise for me. TPP is supposed to be about a soldiers descent into madness. We're not going to like it since we've grown to know BB, but it has to play out this way.

Makes sense. Big Boss snuck out of Mother Base every night and tortured Paz and Chico in Camp Omega for the lulz and then risked his life to get them back, while in the meantime planning a full-on assault on his own base.

My mind is spinning non-stop! The Fight Club thing you mention could very well be explored a bit in the hospital segment at least.

Skull Face's part is tricky, though. So mysterious and that's partly what makes him interesting so far.

DIABOLICAL, NO?

Suddenly MG1 makes sense now. Big Boss order's Solid Snake to infiltrate his own base to wreck everybody's day. No wonder Miller calls him a monster.

Kiefer had a lot of lines in the briefing tapes, I'm not sure if any of you listened to those. It's going to be exactly like Peace Walker, where Big Boss is extremely talkative during tapes and non-gameplay-related cutscenes, but during cutscenes during/before/after gameplay he's silent as a rock.

I almost forgot about the tapes, yeah, you're probably right.

Ground Zeroes also had only 1 story mission, those tapes in the game reflected that one mission and are mainly to do with the briefing and what took place before Chico got captured. With TPP we'll have plenty of story missions, and will probably unlock plenty of new conversations between Big Boss and the cast every time we complete or move on to a new part of the story. I also hope we'll get unique conversations back at Motherbase if we decide to interact with main characters like Ocelot and Kaz.

I feel like I'm the only one who loves the Fulton system as it is? I laugh my ass off every time he fultons someone or an animal.

It's funny and a shit ton better than being forced to drag everyone out all the time. I hope we still have the option to helicopter people out, though. just incase I'm feeling masochistic.

I'm now pondering whether I should play Revengeance.

I've decided that before Phantom Pain comes out, I'll replay MGS3, GZ, and MGS4, and Sons of Liberty and Peace Walker for the first time. Wonder if I should play Reveangence. I tried the demo, didn't like it much. Worth playing?

Is he skipping steps when he runs up those stairs? That's awesome if he is.

Mother Base looks amazing.

And I love the leaning when Snake turns while running now.

Yeah the leaning is present in GZ but the animations are much better in this TPP demo(crawling, getting up, crouching...etc).

I'd say Big Boss is quiet in that cutscene because its still early on (I assume) and he'll still feel somewhat out of place in a world that has moved on.

I was wondering this, when he was crawling in the stream he was moving much more slowly. Does this mean that there's variable crawl speeds? You only had one crawl speed in GZ which was quite annoying. Not sure if it was just because of the water though. Hopefully you can slow your crawl.

Revengeance is a fun action game, not really imperative though. Not even sure if it's canon.

It's got great gameplay and a great soundtrack. The story is mostly PMCs and nanomachines and doesn't flesh out the plot in any meaningful ways but isn't that bad.

Those gifs are slowed down which accentuates the blur a lot more but I'm a fan in any case. Then again, I've always been a fan of that post-processed look with lots of effects everywhere.

It's the best thing to come from the franchise since MGS3, but it's an action game, not a MGS game. Very different vibe, very different goals, and much less importance to the overarching plot (if you still care about that sort of thing) even though it makes Raiden pretty much the best character in Metal Gear. It also has an amazing soundtrack and a TON of quotable lines. Extremely entertaining game.

The story is great. Not as good as the Kojima-written games, but still better than 95% of console games with stories. As for the gameplay, you'll love it or hate it depending on whether or not while playing MGS1 you thought to yourself "Snake is cool, but... when do I get to play as that ninja?"

yeup, i mentioned this earlier in this thread. he had plenty of dialogue in GZ. no reason to think it won't be a proportional amount in TPP

Just maybe not so much in the cutscenes?? It feels like Kojima has one foot in the "silent protagonist theory" camp, which is really annoying. Oh well.
