It's not just some random made-up word, it actually refers to something, and helps prevent ambiguity. Get over it brah. If you're gonna whine about people calling it soccer, then others should whine about calling it football rather than association football.

We've seen the video many times..and it really is difficult to make a definite call. Marginal decisions are always going to be an issue. Video won't make those calls any better..it might improve the ratio a bit but at the expense of interrupting the game.
GLT is great mind you. You could perhaps do a Hawkeye like system for off sides but again it needs to be quick. Anything that requires the ref to leave the field to view a monitor is a fail.

Why not just make a system that tells the refs watch if it was offside. He could stop play immediately if it was, if it wasn't then it goes on.
Check the post count and views. Is the NFL thread bigger than the Football thread(s)?
