Can someone pls link me to the quicklook part where Brad says 'let's see the expert do it then' about flying in some multiplayer game, and he crashes straight into an oil tanker?

Thanks :)

You will be having a new avatar soon!

I've got a new avatar suggestion for you:

Is The Lobby with Jeff this week worth a watch - given that it isn't on youtube and gamespot doesn't have the option to download videos?

what video first introduced us to gameface on giant bomb? I've never seen it before

fight night? or Tiger Woods maybe?

Jar Time better be about all the new shit happening with GB and not many stupid questions about E3 and what it's worth.
They really talked too much about this topic. Especially after having pretty good insight last week with Rorie and Danny's input and long discussions at the E3 streams, they didn't need to start with it again this week.

whats that game where you're driving a limo or a car or whatever and you're spinning in circles trying to murder zombies or civilians or something?

I thought dave lang was working on it (according to something jeff said at e3) but maybe he was being sarcastic

I know they've talked about it before on the bombcast though

Turnaround. It's being developed by ex President of Harmonix.

Crimsonland looks kinda...awesome? I hadn't heard of the game before even if it's from '03, but it looks like some well-made mindless fun.

Also, I'm sure someone in the YT comment section will comment on Jeff being excited about Crimsonland and indifferent about Mario Kart 8, haha.

Wait, what's with the voice effect stuff in patrick's video?

Am I.

Am I in real life?

Also I don't get it isn't just a game preview, though they've been switching names for that feature so often already I can't even remember what the last one is called.

Enjoyed Patrick's ASABMU Video Thing. The ending is very abrupt, though.

The whole game seems centred around the main character's bond to his uncle, but when the moment finally arrives, when the player finally gets there, the game moves to the credits as fast as possible, and you're left pretty empty. *cue LA Noire (?) music* ASABMU may have left me looking for more in the end, but it's the definition of a game defined by the journey, not the conclusion. So many games obsess with providing players with power fantasies as defined by Michael Bay. There are other kinds of power fantasies, too. And games like ASABMU allow me to indulge them. Sometimes, you just wanna fly.

I was left wondering what power fantasy lies underneath ASABMU. You can't go out without explaining that (as thousands of non-action-y games that are completely different from one another would fit that bill). I have to assume it's the swinging/flying part, but is that sufficient? Also, the game is titled "A Story About etc.". I would expect a comment on the narrative and how well it ties in to that power fantasy from a conclusion to a video like this. It could have used a few more words.

Also, just a minor stylistic observation: "definition of a game defined by [...] power fantasies as defined by [...]". Gotta watch out for redundancies like that.

But as I said, I really enjoyed the format and the video as a whole. Good job, Scoops!

Kero Blaster next? :p

Just to throw in a bit of constructive criticism, I dunno about the silly gimmicks like the voice effects and the song. It doesn't fit the tone of what Patrick was trying to do which seemed more like an in-depth, serious analysis of a game.

You are thinking of Turnover.

Yeah, those bits struck me as a bit odd.

Yeah I agree with Antiwhippy.

The voice thing was funny at first, but I felt the bit dragged for too long, and I also couldn't hear much of what Patrick was saying when he had the filter on.

Also I felt that the part with the rap song and the black and white video felt super out of place.
