I thought we were trying to keep new fans interested in the sport around here? Better to commit them to watching only World Cup matches now and then allowing them a few weeks for their memories of world-class quality soccer to fade before directing them to MLS.
Don't get me wrong, as an American I support MLS, but the change in quality may be a bit jarring. Not only that, but trying to get them to support a team from Canada? Good luck with that. At least pick a team with some history behind them like DC United.
The teams that play shit but constantly win and rarely concede are the ones you have to look out for in tournaments.
Sometimes a team is just riding a wave of luck and no matter how outplayed they are they somehow win. Ala Chelsea Champions League.

It looks like shit because they are locking down the game. But it's hard to win against that and it's strategically sound. I'd say the game is still 50/50 . Belgium has the better team on paper, but USA have a pumped up spirit.

ESPN's Soccer Power Index gives them a 43% chance I'd say 60/40 seems about right. 50/50 is doing Belgium a bit of a disservice. They still won out in their group and have tons of talent.

Personal though, we had no idea how it would go, and with Euro 2012 in the back of my head i was scared as fuck. The relief and joy was so amazing. Also a couple of amazing goals in that match.
