Since we seem to be having a hard time seeing

Looks like he is not standing on his feet and indeed a dive. But yeah Netherlands was better anyway would not have taken long before Netherlands would have steam rolled Mexico.

Robben played fantastically well this game. He may have overacted a bit when he was fouled in the penalty box, but Mexico already got away with fouling him once in the first half and he didn't get the call so I can't blame him.

Also the only reason he was fouled by Marquez is the brilliant control he displayed getting the ball to the back line, so on the whole... penalty was well-deserved.

Did you watch this game?

Netherlands didn't do squat in the first half and were thoroughly outplayed. Heck, the ref had to stop play because the Dutch players were either melting or crying about the heat.

I disagree. Netherlands played a good first half but were clearly affected by the heat early on as was Mexico. The breaks are necessary to avoid dehydration.

Netherlands then showed Mexico who is best in the 2nd half but it sure took a while and some unlucky bounces earlier but in the end, Netherlands put Mexico in its place.

For anyone complaining about the dive, stop acting like it's a Robben thing. Football is famous for fake falls and players pretending to be hurt. As far as I know, that fame was already there before Robben started playing.

Besides, Mexico was playing really dirty this match and had it coming. I was surprised it didn't happen earlier.

Fuck, we lost. And that was all on the team playing defensively after the first goal. If they would've kept pressuring and attacking, Mexico would've probably scored another. Oh well, it was a good ride and Mexico seemed solid after the disastrous qualifying matches. Could've would've should've, but we didn't :'( congrats Netherlands. Now to supports Germany and USA!

like every single World Cup.

Yeah but that is not surprising, we don't have that big of a local league, our players are good but not top tier, and a lot of factors, reach the quarter finals is a hope because realistically our place is in the best 16 teams but not the 8, and the non big teams that have reached those instances (Korea, Croatia, Bulgary, US, etc) are because of kinda lucky circunstances and then they get lost forever, sometimes they don't even qualify for the WC, Mexico is amazing at its consistency, only they, Brazil and Germany have reach the round of 16 for 6 consecutive times, so even if we didn't make it to quarters again is neither a good or bad thing, is our place.

Mexico is cursed, they wont qualify further than this in a world cup.

Cheering for the germans in the final at Mexico '86 had it effects.

hahaha brilliant gif

Mexico was way better in the first half and a large portion of the second half, but the Netherlands were better in the last minutes of the game (which seem that counted the most)

That said, I might be biased cause Im dutch

Yeah, once Mexico scored the Dutch woke up and Mexico retreated into a shell like how the US does. It came close to working but not good enough.

If everyone in the world except the US uses the metric system, why do they still call it the 18-yard box? Because they know our words for things are better.
Pls, the UK isn't the world (anymore). We call that (literally) the "16-metre room" or "Sixteener" in short.

Mexico shouldn't have even made it to the World Cup. Its been an amazing performance considering how the team was doing a few months ago.

Still, I will not call this "thank you for making us dream" when is the same line that is used constantly after their repeat the same mistakes. Mexico had a good team this year but I dislike the overhype that the media here likes to do.

you mean USA actually made the QF at one point? How in the world did that happen?
Twice they've reached quarterfinals and both in the World Cups in Mexico. 1970 and 1986 but in 1970 there were no Round of 16.

The only time Mexico has played 5 games in one World Cup was Mexico '86.

I was rooting for mexico!!!

They lost this, because they let their foot off the pedal! You simply can't let a GK get so much pressure on them! like 10 CK? What? Is that all about, they simply gave Netherlands get too many opportunities, even Ochoa god tier performance was bound to crack.

They should have forced NL to keep on their eyes on their own side, SMH, blame it on El Piojo.

Aye , i have calmed down and did not report. It's just that i know some close friends who lost family during that crisis.

My mistake about the post. I didn't know about the North Sea floods. I was ignorant, and tried to make a joke about the salt and Robben's dive. Thanks for the insight!

Guys show the gif of the first penalty that was not given. The one where robben is hit two times.

Are you dense or something? No one is denying that wasn't a penalty. And if you don't know, the fouls aren't given using some kind of karmic rules.
