It will be pretty interesting to see how many units TMCC will sell. I mean pretty much every halo fan on here and everyone I know is pretty hyped up for this. So can we expect numbers close to a new numbered halo game? That would be pretty amazing and certainly a first for what is basically an hd remake... (albeit an awesome one ;))

Let's wait and see. I wasn't too impressed by Halo Anniversary Edition numbers, and that was a remake of the most important Halo.

Well it didn't have the h1 multiplayer, it didn't come at a time where there was no other halo game on the console and the scope was fairly small compared to tmcc ;)

But yeah probably a little early to make predictions.

I REALLY hope Microsoft don't make a Halo MCC of Halo 5 Xbox One console.

I already own every Halo themed console and controller in existence. I don't want anymore...

:(

I was going to reply then I realised you barrack for the magpies, wrong team mate!

Welcome fellow Melburnian

Man I hope they don't have any lone wolf achievement for completing campaign on legendary alone. Its so damn boring, why not play with friends and have great time. Reach and Halo 4 both had that damn achievement. I want to do all 4000G this time around :)

Just hope they don't remove massive quantities of playlists in fall 2015.
For something like Halo 1's MP, all they need is something like FFA, 4v4 TS, 4v4 Flag/Oddball/King, Double Team, Big Team (especially if the PC maps are in), and maybe creating a Snipers variant.

Halo 2 can be similar, but instead of Oddball and King, make it 2-flag, 1-flag, Assault, 1-bomb, Neutral Bomb, 3 Plots, and Oddball (for Warlock and Midship!). No need to have a ton, really. Though I'm curious how ranks are working and how guests will be permitted.

I think the more abstract a playlist concept is, the more likely it'll be cross game.

ie, if a Team Snipers exists, it'll be across all games.

If you want Ranked Team Doubles, I don't think they'd duplicate that across games either. It's going to be cross-game.

I'm expecting all game-specific modes to be just Team Slayer and Team Objective.

Who else is going to watch the 343 RTX panel on Saturday?

What achievements were broken?

One of the few games I have 1000 on.

who said this? If its in Halo 3 and Halo 4, it will be in this. Its basically same game with better performance. or am I missing something.

I think he means that Halo CEA and H2A won't have 4 player co-op. Which the originals never had either so I don't see the problem. Halo 3 and 4 will indeed still have 4 player co-op.

I wouldn't be surprised if I saw game-specific BTB playlists instead of Team Objective, but I agree Team Slayer is probably guaranteed.

No 4-player splitscreen for campaign is still something I can't get over.
With all this package offers and all the things they are doing that the original games couldn't (1080p 60fps on all campaigns, Halo CE online multiplayer and online co-op, all maps, etc) you are hung up on them not ADDING 4 player co-op to these games? Halo CE and Halo 2 campaigns weren't even designed for 4 players (2 players only) and you want them to just add in 2 more characters to those stories? You are obviously in the minority here. Halo 3 and Halo 4 have 2 player split-screen for co-op and 4 player over XBox Live and you still want more. Is there ANY game out there that offers the FULL campaign for 4 players using split-screen and not some watered down co-op version of the campaign?

I'm hoping we get the follow playlists for each individual game:

Team Slayer
Team Objective
BTB
FFA
And then Doubles should be mandatory for Halo 1.

This is my minimal expectation for game specific playlists. They can do whatever they want with crossgame playlists, as far as I'm concerned.

They're very much about giving the original experience, gameplay wise. Why add 4 player local co-op when it wasn't in the original? Don't get greedy :p

You can actually glitch Halo 3 onwards into playing 3-split local-coop. Halo 3 actually holds up decently, and that's on the 360.

Might as well make it an official function. But I guess why do greatness when good enough gets you pre-orders?

Really? Good enough is how you're going to label this game? Okay, I'm just checking.

Four player local co-op would be really sweet, but I'm not going to be disappointed or think less of 343's effort if it's not included.

Considering my level of previous investments with the the games, I'm sorry for not going DIS IS SUCH GREAT DEAL OMG 60 BUXX HALO 5 BORTL AW YISS.

Our perspectives on this are going to be different. I'm not just tearing them down for the sake of tearing them down, but I'm sure as hell going to call out when they leave easy opportunities on the table. They added the ability to play co-op single screen in their other "anniversary" shooter release, and upped the player count. And they're already arbitrarily deciding what was "like the original" and what can be left out.

Of the laundry list of additions they could add to MCC, local split screen is pretty low on my list. But I will mourn for your loss regardless, as you seem pretty peeved it's not included.

I'm not pretty peeved. I'm just saying.. Halo 3 and 4 already have the baseline functionality for it - 4 man co-op is essentially a splitscreen session synced over the internet, anyway.

But I'll just continue to be amused that people are praising Microsoft saying they're leaving Halo 2 game glitches in after Microsoft prevented the glitches from being fixed in the first place. It's like rewarding someone for at least not regressing the codebase.

So no only are you considering this "good enough" but you think going from 2 player splitscreen to 3/4 player splitscreen is greatness? Lol....come on now....

I suspect the game-specific playlists will end up being sort of the "best-of" lists for each game - here's what this game did better than anything else, or better than the rest of the series did. So you have Halo 1-only-Doubles, and Halo-2-only-Skirmish+BTB, and Halo 3-only...uh, well, something probably? On top of that, you'd then have a cross-game playlist that mirrors every major playlist across the series (Slayer, Objective, Big Team, Snipers, SWAT, Doubles, FFA) so every map is playable in some form, even if its particular game doesn't feature it in the "best-of" list (like, CE BTB is not great so it wouldn't have a standalone list, but those maps would be in the cross-game pool).

So something like (and this is all seriously colored by my experience with these individual games, which is one of the reasons it's such a hard problem to deal with):

Halo 1
Doubles

Halo 2
Skirmish
Big Team

Halo 3
MLG or Big Team, I guess - these are the two that resonate as core to the Halo 3 experience to me

Halo 4
Whatever data indicates people (that are in the game's core, dedicated audience) liked most about the game - it'd probably end up being Infinity which would make some sense.

Universal
Slayer
Big Team
Objective
Snipers
SWAT
Doubles
Action Sack
Rumble Pit

It's the only way they can realistically keep playlist counts at manageable levels while still delivering a game-specific experience that feels right on an emotional level, I think. That's the unfortunate reality of having four products in one package, some of which not being as popular as others, all sharing a player population limited by market penetration of an platform in its infancy. Not everybody is going to be happy, but they could probably get pretty close if they manage it right.

I would say I don't envy them for having to deal with the issue, but I really do. Trying to distill the essence of what was best about each game seems like an incredibly fun problem to try and solve. I need the keys to the playlist car.

I'm sure there will be a 2v2 playlist for CE. The bigger concern though is if there will be radar.

Question for anyone that played a lot of Halo PC: What was the general consensus online regarding radar? Did most servers have them? Whenever I played radar was never activated, so just wondering if that was the "standard" for Halo PC like it was for Xbox.

I'd rather play campaign alone. I think those achievements are worth putting in. It's a different experience alone.

What level or area are you guys looking forward to playing in the Halo 2 Anniversary campaign?
