Well, Wilmots got farther than i had anticipated. What an absolute hack of a coach. The only player that does jack shit is the only player never getting subbed. Not understanding you do NOT play Fellaini in matches where you can't afford to lose the ball. That's why Dembele is on the bench. More than a month of preparations, with this result, like these guys played together for the first time. Amazing.

Anyway, thanks for prolonging this utter dumbass his contract for the next four years, Steven Martens. Golden generation down the drain.

Anyway. Hoping Netherlands will beat Costa Rica in a entertaining match.
 
It seems the entry of Demichelis and Basanta along with Biglia worked very well defensively as Belgium had difficulty to create chances during all the match. It was a solid game by Argentina but disappointing in the 2nd half.

Biglia played amazingly. We lose some offense with Basanta out there, but it's worth the trade off. Demi should be out there all the time.

Yeah, the time wasting this early isn't great but they still worked to keep controlling the game. "Resting" on a 1-0 can backfire badly if you don't have the quality to hold it.
I completely agree it's not the best football to watch but looking at what's at stake it's pretty understandable that teams want to play it safe. There's just a bit more room for error in the group stage where you can still even out a bad match in the next one.

Like any other fracture, you immobilize the affected area and let it heal on its own.

If it's your back, you get basically bed ridden.

It was minor fodtunately so he will heal in 3-6 weeks.
 
many people hated tiki-taka but watching all these knockout games, the teams lack the movement, fluency and understanding of old spain.

i think argentina played poorly, for most of the 2nd half they just sat back and aimlessly kick the ball away from their goal. where is their counterattack? if they played like this against holland, i am sure robben van persie will hit late goals.

Just got a report on German TV - should get a cast and absolutely isn't allowed to move for the next three-six weeks.

How long will it take to just get the fitness back? Don't you usually lose your form much faster than you gain it? After six weeks in a cast I'd expect same massive muscle degredation and loss of stamina o.O

This isn't like club football, where two to three teams in every league outspend the rest of the garbage teams by ten times and play stacked rosters against a bunch of scrubs. Sorry that you like uneven, exceptionally stacked football.

I never said "worst" Argentina is better than 98% of other national teams, someone else did. This isn't "worst" Argentina by a mile. This team is better than 99% of other national teams. If they win the Final, I'll bump that figure up to 100%.

I don't understand. He lost so many balls and made so many unnecessary fouls. I don't get why he's the one marking Messi.
 
If Di María and Aguero come back and Higuaín continue today's performance Argentina will be very competitive against the bigger teams. I can see them improving every match.
