I understand your post. I even respect it.

But you can be sure after plenty of semi final defeats in the last 10 years the German team knows that they won shit yet.

The difference is. We have a team that actually proved on the European stage that they can win it in the end. The best example are the Bayern players who won the Champions League in 2013 after choking several times.

It's on like Donkey Kong.

We got this.

With this you're alluding to that winning goal by Robben right?

You are just afraid that germany will run over the netherlands too :P

Nope, we're winning the title this year. We've already beaten Spain (our final opponents for 2010), Argentina (1978) is next and Germany (1974) will be our ultimate revenge.

It is written in the stars, we're good. :D

You didn't hear how the audience booed their own team off the pitch at the end?

Well that means nothing, they won't start cheering Germany in the finals, that at least is for sure.

I'm sure they will be, but they still got nothing out of this match and they will still think to themselves "hang on, we just beat fucking Brazil 7-1, aren't we amazing!" even if they won't say it out loud in front of a camera.

Now granted, it's minor and it won't cause them to fuck up, but it certainly isn't the best prep for a final in a world cup.

Why? Confidence is what they had way too less in most of their games. And don't worry, they got enough out of this game. And not only confidence.

Thinking about yesterday... as much as I disliked the South-American crowds for whistling at the opposite team and chanting "olé, olé" any time their own had the ball (even without any specific domination), the Brazilians kind of redeemed themselves when they reverted in the end and started "olé, olé"-ing Germany (which had indeed full control of the ball).
Of course part of it may have been out of spite for their own team, but it's still the most sportsmanlike attitude they displayed on the tournament, admitting that the other team is obviously better and cheering them.

Thinking on it, I don't think Germany should be so happy about this result. Of course there is a confidence boost in winning with such big numbers in the quarter finals, but it can also breed arrogance and overconfidence in your abilities. Especially since the result wasn't so much due to Germany's play, but due to Brazil's complete meltdown. And it's not like either Argentina or Oranje won't have confidence after reaching the finals, it kind of comes with beating everyone, after all.

What's worse for Germany is that they had a terrible prep for the final, they had a match against their weakest opponent of the entire tournament, which is terrible training for tactics, teamplay and creativity on the pitch. Germany got nothing out of this match, all they had to do was get the ball near the goal and score, as if they were playing a bunch of kids on the street for fun.

Also, although this is marginal at best, the crowd will be heavily favoring whoever of the two countries they're facing, just because the German team humiliated theirs so much. There is something to be said for getting a boost by being cheered loudly by a crowd and having your opponent hated with a passion.

All in all, great result for Germany, but I think they would have been better off with a heart fought 1 or 2 goal victory.

Interesting way of spinning 24 hours extra rest and had a relatively easier job than the winner of today's match will.

It happened in the past, if you'll remember The Netherlands group-phase from the Eurocup in 2008, we beat Italy 3-0 and France 4-1 and then gave our best players rest and beat Romania 2-0 with our B-team. Surely, we have confidence and our players had some rest so they would be fresh against Russia, the number two of their team.

Didn't go quite as planned.

I'm sure the Germans will do fine, but I am convinced they'd have been better off with a hard-fought victory over a strong team. (They would have beaten Brazil either way, even if they hadn't choked, I am sure)

Haha seriously, Germany's pretty much got this.

Et tu, Kabouter?

I wouldn't be THAT convinced. They're a good team regardless and have a great chance of becoming champion, but last nights score was hardly indicative of anything other than Brazil melting down.

And to think that Germany had to withdraw players like Reus, Gundogan, Gomez, Badstuber, Kruse and Schmelzer...

Leaving those at home is why we made it this far tbh.
Still, we have won nothing and while I think that Germany wins it in the end, the final is going to be a hell of a game. Holland would be the easier opposition. Argentina reminds me of 2006 Italy.

It's not only about last night, Bruder.

Exactly, you tied against Ghana, barely got past USA, Algeria scored against you.

Germany is undoubtedly one of the best teams, but hardly unbeatable by another team in the finals. To say you've "got this" is a stretch. You have a great shot, but you got nothing, yet.

We got this.

Don't worry.

You'll see on sunday.

Germany is strong but not that strong,.

Yesterday just everything fell into place for them and evertything fell apart for Brazil. 11 shots on target and 7 goals, that doesn't happen errday.

See Germany game against USA, France...

If there is a team that can beat them it's Holland, but we have to make it through tonight first.

The two matches don't support your point.

Oh pls.
Those teams were only focused on defense and were great on a tactical level by doing this. We dominated the US, fought a tough fight with Ghana, who were physically strong and made a comeback, we made it against Algeria, who ran more than us and exposed the gap that Hummels left in defence, but we still beat them. Portugal and Brazil wanted to play and focused on attack and we wiped the floor with them.

Regardless of how the final ends, what happened yesterday night was history and will be talked about for decades.

Both Holland and Argentina will play defense as well, with more deadly players up front then Ghana, USA or Algeria...

On the flip side I think he forgot that NED barely got past CRC ..

Barely got past with 20 attempts... ok... striker had an off day but any other day that game would have been 4/5 to nothing.

Plus they parked a fucking train in front of their goal instead of actually trying to play the game. :D

Brazil had how many attempts yesterday and still lost 1-7.lol

Going to PKs against CRC with their coach pumping fists didn't feel good mate.
