Girl is mad at me because I did not text her back right away

Ok. This girl has been a really a close friend of mine for almost 7 years. I would say she is my best friend.

Yesterday I was watching the Brazil vs Germany semifinal and left my phone on silence
and at 4:26 pm she texted me

"Hi"

two minutes later

"Hey crazy boy!"

3 minutes later

"Don't respond me then!!!!!!!!"

I responded her 30 minutes later but I haven't heard from her since.

What's going on here?
 
If she is a best friend of 7 years, why do you describe her as "girl" instead of "my friend"?


Because women, right?






Edit- It is perfectly possible she is just joking.
 
She has no patience, clearly, but at the same time I kinda get it when people get mad about that. I have friends who can take up to half a day to text back, and when I'm at work my phone is on silent so I won't text you back for at least 2 hours until I go on a break.
 
Don't think there is much more you can do other then explain why you didn't respond right away. It's really on her after that..
 
I have a friend that is a girl, and sometimes I don't respond to her for days and same for her - but we both are ok with it.
 
Do you two frequently text back and forth relatively quickly? If so, then a break in that routine may have made her upset; she might have perceived it as you ignoring her.

Or maybe she's PMSing really bad. Who knows.
 
Why doesn’t she just fucking call if she wants to hear from you right away? Not everyone has their phone by their side 24/7 like most females do.

I find it strange in situations like this that one might possibly think their being ignored instead of worrying something might be wrong with the other person instead.

Anyway, depending on the context it can be extremely frustrating if someone doesn't respond in a timely manner if you have something planned for example.
 
A text does not obligate anyone to respond immediately. Explain to her your phone was on silent and you were watching the game.

Sometimes we both do it quickly, sometimes we take hours or even a day and no problem! This is the first time she gets mad for no texting her back right away.

She sounds very immature. I would just ignore it.

my ex-girlfriend once texted me four times in a half hour while I was in class, then sent a fifth text saying, "I guess I won't be seeing you anymore?"

and that's the last time we spoke to each other
