Yeah they should just abolish the 3rd place match. Just like the European Championship does it. Nobody wants to play this match.

That's why I think the Netherlands would be a far more dangerous opponent for Germany than Argentina. They could exploit the rather slow footed German defense better than the possesion based game Argentina plays.

Exactly, we saw against france that they play really compact football and that if you use the long ball and have a fast player they get in trouble, Oscar did the same thing yesterday( even though they probably did not care anymore)
I guess if there really is a big rivalry between Brazil and Argentina, then we'll get the best games if Argentina loses today.
I don't really care who wins, though I think Germany would have an easier time managing a team of one versus a full team of players working cohesively.
Also, I assume that even if Germany loses in the final, their complete destruction of Brazil is going to catapult them to first place in the FIFA rankings with quite a bit of a point lead, right?

Primarily Brazil was so bad. I read that half of the passes in Brazil's penalty box connected. That's crazy. For at least five goals there was no defense in sight. Germany was frightenly eager though, and you still have to put them in the net.

Brasil's defense was amateur levels of bad. The free space that Germans had in front of the goal was insane. After the first goal Germany got wings.
Germany is def. one of the top two teams of this Worldcup.

Brazil was just brutal. Look at the goals they conceded. I mean that corner alone was a disgrace.
Germany obvioiusly is one of the best teams but you shouldn't concede 4 goals in 6 minutes or so even if you're Gibraltar.

At least they play soccer. CRC just tried to kill the game and go for penalties. If Sneijder had a bit more luck it would have been a 3-0 game because CRC would have been forced to attack. That would create free space and more opportunities for NL.
This anti-football stuff is ridiculous. They played by the rules and if their strategy is not to concede any goals then it's still football.
You know what's anti-football? That Suarez bite or the BRA-COL game.

Just responding to people saying ARG is a better team. It's an attacking team and therefore there will be more opportunities for both teams to attack and find free space.
Teams can play the way they want. NL is quilty of similar gameplay, waiting for counters. But CRC was aiming for penalties from the get go.
It's fine, and even admirable that they succeeded in that. But good for football and the veiwers that they failed in the end.

Anyone would look bad if the conceded a goal, at home, in the first 10 minutes. Germany demoralized Brazil. Nothing was given. Germany was playing better even when they turned the heat down. The first 5~ minutes, Germany laid back and assessed. The pounced and took the heart out of Brazil. You don't think Brazil would have played better if it was a manageable 1-0 deficit vs 5-0?
The last 5~ minutes Germany was as gone as Brazil and conceded a garbage time goal. Germany wasn't even tacking or challenging because they had the game in hand. That's why this is more German superiority than Brazil ineptitude.
