Game savers come at a cost:

In the mixed zone, Javier Mascherano spared no words to describe the move: "I do not want to be rude...I tore the anus that play. So the pain..."

I'm not sure about this, Enzo Perez and Lucas Biglia played well enough, Perez much better than expected.

The midfield may not be the strong point of Argentina, but I don't see it being bad either.

They are only good at closing down the play and winning back the ball. They offer zero attacking setups. You dont win games by fighting back the ball and the next moment give it away clueless.

The Germans on the other hand are so comfortable with ball, everyone of them is so strong and fast with a good pass and move technique, and dat Bayern-Dortmund understanding....

I think this German team is twice the quality of the Argie. Has there ever been such loop-sided finals, and whereby the underdog wins?

Robben was the one being tango'd with.

I didnt watch the match but did holland park the bus ?

I don't know if it's salty but it's misplaced. Any team that makes it to the finals should not be expected to get steamrolled over, or simply doesn't have a chance. Maybe their game plan for the finals is very different. I expect Germany to win too but you can't be sure of it. For all you know they get Messi'd. (Though they will probably contain him).

That's salty? OK. He knows the German team extremely well, and just played the team they're up against.
I think Argentina has a shot though. German defense was a bit shoddy in some games.

If he's not salty then he's far from humble, anyway he's wrong. Argentina has a chance to win because they have to play the game, who doesn't have a chance at all is Holland who lost to Argentina and now has a match for the 3rd place. You also don't look salty at all man, good luck in Russia 2018 ;)

Yeah I'm supersalty. Salty salty salty salty.
You got any of those superfunny salt pictures ready? They're so hilarious. Can't wait to see what you come up with, make me proud!

Wouldn't that statement in large part be due to all his Bayern team mates in the German team, not to mention all the players he usually meets in competition play? It's not hard to see why he would hold the German team in high esteem, and perhaps overstate their chances.

Humble in victory, gracious in defeat.

You just don't say things like that as a matter of publicity. It's foolish and disrespectful. If ARG stands no chance, then NED stood no chance either. There's just nothing to gain from flapping your mouth the way that he did.

Naah, no need for that and I do really hope you defeat brasil this Saturday.

Oh? I'm sure this goes for the semis as well.... Brasil however, didn't get the memo it seems...

Yeah, that's pretty much what everyone in the Netherlands was saying after the Germany - Brazil match. And of course there's nothing to gain from it, but be glad there's at least still some footballers who will say what they think about things rather than just answering exactly what the team's PR chief wants them to say, even if it doesn't make much sense (which I agree that it doesn't).

Robben wants his Bayern team mates to win.

The sky is blue.

Are you saying our expectations, before that match should have been that they get steamrolled? Exactly. That would be a really stupid attitude. Just because they did does not mean you should expect it. Which is also arrogant and the chances of happening is very slim.

I have watched enough football to know that anything can happen in a game, specially in a final.
I love all these football experts here bringing up statistics and in deep analysis of how the Germans will steamroll Argentina, I love it!
I am very happy with Argentina reaching the finals and happy for Messi he gets to play a WC finals, I am also ok if we lose against the Germans, we already accomplished quite a feat, being the underdogs for this match is quite beneficial for our team too, we have the tools and the players for an upset.
Oh boy if Argentina wins, the salt in these forums from the so called experts will be glorious.

Yeah, that is very salty. Totally sour grapes. His team lost to Argentina despite 120 minutes of time to put the ball in the net. Would he be saying "Germany's going to win the World Cup. No doubt about that. Our team will not stand a chance" had they won in the PKs? Yeah, sure. Just stating facts.

Disfrázate de Sandro para el partido, es la cábala !!

It's a final and they have one of the best players in the world. Providing Argentina keeps things tight a single moment of brilliance could spell the end for Germany quite easily.

He's salty because he's stating facts? Maybe the no chance part is too much but there is very little chance. Maybe if they go to the lottery of penalties.

Very little chance? I think that's a bit much. There's a tendency to overreact to the last result.

When Germany scraped past Algeria and drew with Ghana there was doubt about them. They suddenly beat a hapless Brazil and they are already champions? The truth is in the middle probably.

But that's why we play football.

Objectively one would put the Germans as favourites. But it's not a full gone conclusion - far from it.

was it already posted how lionel messi is having a drugs test just after game lol

Not sure where you got that from, i am merely saying that apparently in this World Cup, the usual expectations etc. go out the window as proven by the game Germany - Brasil where one SHOULD have expected an at least somewhat evened out match which it turned out to be completely false.

TLDR: In this WC, throw your expectations out the window ;)

Underdog position will work in your favor. Everyone seems to have forgotten the Ghana and Algeria game from the German's. It's gonna be 50/50

Not really. The statement translate to. I'm hurting and want the Germans to beat Argentina to ease the pain of yet another crushing underachievement. What he thinks = What he wants.

No shame in that. Losing is hard. But I'd think after his many fluffs he'd be used to it by now.

I would say 50/50 depends, is Di Maria going to be playing in the final? If so, yeah, 50/50 doesn't sound far from what I would expect.

Not sure where you got that from
You might not mean in that way but that's what you where saying:

Any team that makes it to the finals should not be expected to get steamrolled over, or simply doesn't have a chance.

we should not EXPECT it i said, not that it can't or won't happen

Brasil however, didn't get the memo it seems...

Here you said such a thing just happened as a counter argument towards my statement.

Are you saying our expectations, before that match should have been that they get steamrolled?

Not sure where you got that from

Like i said, you probably didn't mean it that literally, but from where i'm sitting it's normal to read it as such.

It'll be 50/50 until Messi runs riots or the Germans inflict devastating counter attacking football.

The pendulum will swing and perhaps in both directions. That's the thing about a Cup Final. It's not like Argentina doesn't have World class players in many positions, enough at least to cause problems and win it. The German team does on paper seem more balanced.

60/40 in favor of Germany if they hold Messi in check, if Messi runs wild then it's a 50/50 game.

If Messi runs wild. It's game over for Germany not 50/50. I've seen Messi take over entire games with his genius. Whilst I don't think it will be that easy for him on Sunday, when he's on, there really is no stopping him.

Man, my folks love him, and because of them i spent my entire childhood listening to his songs xD
+respect to your folks, that's kind of how I ended up listening to him and watching his movies, Sandro in his prime during the 70s was a force to be reckoned with, he was the equivalent of Elvis Presley for South America, nobody had more game than him, lets face it, most of women in South America during the 70s were shagged by him, he was the ultimate
player, someday I'll make a thread to let GAF know about this legend, but I digress, back on topic.

Vamos Argentina!!!!
