What a stupid fucking post. Is your girlfriend both blind and deaf? That's the only excuse she wouldn't know Messi was playing, if she was actually watching the game. Cause you know, you only saw the guy every few seconds, with the announcers mentioning his name only 57,923 times.

Oh wait, nevermind, that actually proves that Messi sucks. Cause your girlfriend (if she exists) couldnt tell if he was playing. Yeah, that's it.

Also, the "greatest of all time" is such a ridiculous title. Standards are constantly changing, and you cant compare players between generations. The contexts, environments, and standards are completely different. Messi is an incredible player, and one of the best (if not the best) playing today. Isn't that enough? Oh wait, your GF didnt notice him, so I guess all his stats and achievements are meaningless.

Respond to "stupid" with definite stupid.

Let's go Germany!

In Fred, Brazil has found its scapegoat for World Cup disappointment

RIO DE JANEIRO – Brazil's World Cup capitulation was bad enough that it was always going to require a scapegoat. It looks like the host nation has found one.

Fred, a homegrown player and formerly a local hero, has borne as much of the brunt as anyone over the team's 7-1 semifinal defeat to Germany despite having little responsibility on defense.

Coach Luiz Felipe Scolari is expected to drop the center forward from the starting lineup for Saturday's third-place playoff against the Netherlands in Brasilia, as Brazil desperately tries to regain some pride and finish the tournament strongly.

Poor Fred. I don't understand how a guy on offense got all the blame.

lol brazil is just pathetic now.

If it was any other team, they'll be rooting against Germany.

Practically the whole continent is in tears, might as well add the ones from Argentina, I want Germany to win to be honest only because they earned it, they are the best team so far.

This little meme kept adding and adding people to the line, before semifinals:

Neymar’s agent lashes out at Scolari

Neymar’s agent Ribeiro produced a sarcastic list of “six requirements to be Brazilian coach” on his Twitter account.

These were:

“One – being Portugal coach and winning nothing.”

“Two – going to Chelsea and being sacked the following day.”

“Three – going to coach in Uzbekistan.”

“Four – returning to Brazil, taking over a big team [Palmeiras] and getting them relegated to the second division.”

“Five – leaving the club 56 days before the end of the Brasileirao [season] to ‘escape’ the relegation.”

“Six – being an old jerk, arrogant, repulsive, conceited and ridiculous.”

Best World Cup ever.

Even if scolari has a lot of blame, it's still shitty for him to say that though.

Maybe so but in order for it to be the best World Cup ever, a few shitty things need to happen for entertainment purposes, like Suarez biting somebody (see Maradona hand of god, Zidane headbutt, etc.)...

It's worth noting that Neymar spoke strongly against these statements today.

And speaking of Neymar, it's sad how biased BBC seems to be against him. They posted an article about his interview today leaving out the best parts and straight up lying in the header. Shameful.

Arjen Robben insists Argentina "will not stand a chance" of winning the World Cup after the Netherlands were knocked out in the semi-finals on penalties.

They beat Robben's side 4-2 in the shootout after 120 goalless minutes and face Germany in the final on Sunday while Louis van Gaal's Dutch team meet Brazil in the third-place play-off on Saturday.

Robben, who plays his club football for German side Bayern Munich and risked appearing to be a sore loser, was unequivocal when asked who he thought would triumph at the Maracana in Sunday's final.

"Germany's going to win the World Cup. No doubt about that. The Argentines will not stand a chance," kicker quoted him as saying.

Robben's gonna Robben.

I think people started booing Fred after he came out and immediately missed goal attempts and started flopping. Nobody wanted to see that shit

Whatever happened to Podolski during this World Cup? I remember him playing quite a role in the past 2 World Cups ('06/'10) for Germany.

He only played one game, and really didn't have the impact that would merit him taking Özil's spot. He was extremely good in our old counter-attacking style, but the passing build-up we do now, with the total football style forwards, it isn't his thing. He has also been on a slight decline since joining Arsenal, not able to make the improvements and everything he has needed in the past.

Good player, unlucky overall. I wish things were better for the guy because he after meeting him, he gained a lot of my respect. He is extremely humble and kind, loves his team and fans. He is the kind that would probably be pretty OK playing from the bench if he ever gets to play, just because he loves being a part of the whole thing. I really feel for the guy, he is awesome.

It's all too easy to see Germany as the clear favorite heading into this, but if anyone thinks Germany is a lock to win that game, they're crazy. All it takes is one pass, one miscue on the part of a midfielder or defender, and the advantage shifts completely in favor of one team or the other.

I hope to god Argentina wins. Messi deserves himself a world cup title.

Stick to your irrational gaming side posts. I already said everything you said young man.

Fred's heatmap:

He's ineffective.

However, David Luiz is to blame for the match. He's not Captain material.

Luiz was indeed to blame for that match (including the rest of their defense btw) but Fred was terrible the entire tournament. Like i wrote before, if you showed me footage of the Fred and asked me what position he plays i would say he's a attacking midfielder. Striker seems odd to me, but Scolari thought that was the best one Brazil had? That country is massive, it's a giant and everyone loves football.

If you reveal such a thing you're still kinda humiliating them, just less and in retrospect.
