TLOU Remastered screenshots (PS Blog)

PS3 game looks nice when the screen is posted in 720p on message forums, without upscale to 1080p [which we all see on our large TVs].

What now. Does it still look not much better to you? :D And note, aliasing of PS3 TLOU game is much more visible in motion.
That shows it off quite well. I played TLOU on a 32" 720p TV so my memory of what it looked like was a bit skewed.

All at 60fps now(or near enough), too.

Pretty awesome.

I don't have screenshots from the exact position but as a quick comparison:

Good comparison. Doesn't seem to be a huge jump but the overall IQ is certainly better. Plus theres the distinct possibility that theyve been touched up in some way coming from the Sony blog so we should probably wait until shots come out from other sources.

Really though. Night and day in a still image.

Looks greater/equal to than the difference between a Vita and PS3 title.

from 24-30 to 60fps?

This will be amazing.

Texture don't look that impressive, actually it looks ugly. maybe I expected too much

BTW god of war 3 came out in 2010

Yeah, GoW3 look great at times.

I can find some gifs of when the game looked awful as well. The MC Escher-esque garden in particular looked TERRIBLE.

It's an impressive tech showpiece in spots but not across the board. TLOU was far more consistent (in spite of performance issues).

The improvement in IQ introduced by having proper AA already makes it worth the price of admission for me.
A lot of other things have been improved though and the end result is fantastic.

Looks amazing. Those screens remind me how much I loved the colour and artwork in this game. I really should get back and try for that Survivor playthrough. I'll probably get this on PS4 eventually, but I don't intend on jumping aboard the current gen train for a while.

Whoa.

That first screenshot will look glorious in 1080p.

TLoU was an excellent game with some great art direction, but it looked rough in certain spots (graphically). It'll be even more terrifying playing the remaster

Amazing! Really shows how beastly the PS4 is.
Haha. Not really. PS4 is capable of much more than this. Infamous blows this away.

But it is nice to see this game with a decent res and image quality. I also think many people are going to love the 60fps. And put to rest the idea that 30fps is 'a better choice' for these types of games.

Well a lot of that is because you're seeing the buildings closer up in the Remastered shots.

True, but in the Pittsburgh comparison there is a patch of brick buildings that are roughly the same distance away in both shots and you can make a ton more detail out in the PS4 shot and there's like no aliasing as well.

No doubt. I don't know about a 'ton' more detail, but more detail certainly.

I bet they are photomode pictures, so probably downsampled or something. But I'll be happy to be wrong :)
double dipping~
gotta buy a PS4 first

I can't believe this stupid shit though:

"I wondered whether it would add a distracting layer of artificiality, that it might somehow interfere with the game’s cinematic look and feel. Luckily, based on my hands-on experiences at a recent media event in New York City, those concerns feel entirely unwarranted. Played at the higher framerate, The Last of Us Remastered has a silky smooth feel that makes aiming and camera control feel more responsive and natural."

You don't say?!

Seriously though, this has to be a jab at the "cinematic feel" advocaters.

Whoever took these must be a fan of CDPR's trademark sharpening filter.

Also, how the hell have most of you not learned to detect a bullshot?

I don't think it is. Going by the initial sentence, he seemed to be fully onboard the 'cinematic feel' bullshit train and is only taking his first steps to finally realizing that. There simply aren't a lot of 60fps games like this so people have just been duped into thinking that 60fps doesn't add much and was only for FPS's and racing games.

Let this trend continue.

This is what a good up-port should look like - the IQ is splendid. Also, the forest screenshot shows how much the draw distance adds to the overall atmosphere, great addition.

Makes you wonder how games like GOW3 might look like on PS4.

Yup. Much better AO, textures, and overall lighting. And this is all on top of better resolution, image quality, and framerate.

Great work ND.

I'm especially impressed by the IQ (assuming these aren't bullshot etc etc) very very clean.
Also the draw distance and ambient textures, are very nice now.

I'm sorry, but excluding better AA and draw distance, it is the same.I don't understand the reasons why you would double dip.

Fantastic game though.

Because this happened [directfeed gameplay, capture card, taken before release of photo mode patch]:

This looks amazing. Those comparison screenshots really make the differences standout. Less than two weeks to go and I'll be digging into The Last of Us for the first time.

Also I:SS is a damn fine looking game. A lot of extremely impressive visuals in there.
