TLOU Remastered screenshots (PS Blog)

Texture don't look that impressive, actually it looks ugly. maybe I expected too much

BTW god of war 3 came out in 2010

Uhh I'm not impressed. Looked like GOW2 with better lighting.

Now that I've seen screens I will double dip. I really enjoyed this on PS3, but have not played in forever; so it will be great to go through again. Also, I only tried the MP once on PS3, so I will need to give that another go.

I can't believe I'm this pumped about a game I played & beat the shit out of, didn't LOVE the MP (don't scream at me), and I have a massive backlog of other things to play. Day 1!

To be fair it is a beautiful game, probably the best looking game in motion I have seen to this day. The art style certainly helps, but no gif does it justice, it is fantastically good looking, and this is from someone that thought the actual game was steaming horse shit with nipples and gore.

No, it wasn't.

Journey
Ni no Kuni
Uncharted 3
Beyond: Two Souls
Puppeteer

...are all superior looking PS3 games.

Journey - Different art style
Ni no Kuni - Different art style
Uncharted 3 - damn good looking game. I'd put it on par with TLOU
Beyond: Two Souls - Definitely, but ran like crap in a lot of areas
Puppeteer - Different art style

I'm sensing downsampled screen shots, but with the IQ Sucker Punch managed to pull off with Second Son and ND's Uncharted 4 trailer, these could be the real deal. At least very close to this.

If those are not downsampled shots, consider me impressed with the image quality.

Can't wait.

I feel like I'd have to downsample from 6K on PC to get IQ that good...

I can't detect a single bit of aliasing. Shader, geometry, subpixel... nothing. Whereas I can always point out at least some of that in any Infamous screenshot (that isn't blurred to death via depth of field).

Look ok. somehow I thought the remaster would make it look a lot better as if they remade it so they could port the engine to use on the PS4( at least that wha tI thought) so I hope ND don't fall back.

There seem to be awlays in a console gen leap some studios that sort of loose some of that graphical wow. IMO Bungie did it from Halo 2 to 3 and it looks like ND is too. I'm probably just rushing into conclusion let's see Uncharted 4 before I reach this conclusion.

Still I really don;t get any comment that says this the the most beautiful game they have seen. I suggest to them to go to youtube and look at some PC footage. This game looks good, but it's not that amazing.

Posts like this make threads competely unbearable. No base or sense but drive by post.

I am not seeing all the "ooooh" "so beautiful" "day one" graphics that everyone else sees either. No need to berate the man for saying what he sees. I was expecting something special too.

Yeah, I feel similar. But then I try to think back and how the atmosphere and look of the game left a mark of awesome on my brain, and I look at actual still screenshots from the original (gross!) and, well, I guess you have to experience that thing in motion and properly.

So, considering all this, the multitude of objective enhancements can in no way be a bad thing. So, I believe it will be very special when we got it in our hands. Because special is this game's strong suit.

Looks great! Was already oozing with atmosphere, playing it again with added bells and whistles will be such an awesome experience. For people expecting more, after a yr development cycle porting from such an exotic console need to give their head a shake. ND have already shown what we can expect from PS4 only tech with the UC4 trailer.

Here is a thread from 2012 with you guys liking and complaining about shots from the PS3 game that, in comparison, now look much worse

http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?t=462519

Honestly, while I can tell a difference, it's not enough of one that I'd consider it worth rebuying (from what I can tell I'd never notice except doing back to back comparisons). The reason I'm rebuying is because the less I have to play on my PS3 the better (and I got a good deal doing the 3x credit trade at Target so I'm not spending much more to get it).

But if all I cared about was the upgrade in graphics quality, certainly not enough to persuade me (hell, if I didn't have a PS4 I don't think it would even be worth waiting til I had a PS4 to play it).

But, I'm happy I can have it on my PS4 and use my PS3 less (The PS4 just runs so much better and I really like how if I take a break to watch Netflix I don't have to quit the whole game. Shoot, I use my PS4 for netflix now even if my PS3 is already on cause i'm playing a game. Means I don't have to reload the game on PS3).

It looks like shit from scaling (which was my point) not the compression. It's captured over HDMI w/ 720p disabled (TLOU always outputs at 720p otherwise). It's also a little extra blurry from camera movement. Finally, your tv might have a better scaler than the ps3

Here is a slightly less blurry frame but it isn't a world of difference: http://i.minus.com/irnlemY7l5SuW.png

A bit closer to my memories of the game.
Still, the jump in IQ is pretty immense, that screen looks horrid, goddamn.

The poster said 'some', not all current gen games. Plus, 900p, and often less than 30fps. I'm guessing you're trying to prove their point?
1080p doesn't automatically make a game look better than every 900p game.

Bioshock 1 at 4k still doesn't look as good as Infamous at 1080p. There's more to graphics than resolution.

That shot is with motion blur and a blurry effect from the power Delsin is using. Nice try, though.

There's a slight distortion effect, but I don't see much or any, even motion blur. Motion blur would actually help hide any jaggies.

No, ISS does not have perfect IQ all the time, but most of the times it looks phenomenal. That damned specular aliasing on metal surfaces knows to mess things up.

Well, it helps in your screens that most of the visual information is bathed in depth of field. :P

AFAIK, Photo mode in Infamous is 1:1 to what you see in gameplay. I mean I can still spot aliasing here and there in it, just like as in game, and it applies effects and stuff in realtime with no framerate drop, delay or anything.

From what I've seen the IQ is impeccable in screenshots taken in photomode, but I may be mistaken.

I'm disappointed to be honest. I've been concerned ever since we saw the original footage and these pictures do little to convince me it's worth buying again.

Jumping in to the graphics debate; I think both God of War 3 and Uncharted 2 looked more pleasing on the eye than TLoU.
