Nintendo doing another Treehouse Live type of stream at SDCC.

Who's Erik?

Nintendo Treehouse. has been on several Directs and most recently the Treehouse Live @ E3

So? The 3DS version is the exact same game except with a few different stages and worse graphics (and probably worse controls). Unless they'll be doing Smash Run games or something.

So why NOT give the 3DS version a chance to shine? A lot of people will be interested in seeing in played more extensively than what we've seen so far.

Treehouse on a Friday? Might as well be a 4 day workweek then, because I am not getting anything done.

Excellent though!

The 3DS demo they had at previous events had three different characters that weren't in the Wii U demo (Luigi, Toon Link, and Sheik). Chances are they're using this tournament to let those characters be showcased and any stages that the Wii U version doesn't have.

Wohoo! My favorite part of E3 was the Treehouse stream so this are excellent news. Looking forward to it and hope they reveal new stuff as well like new Amiibo figurines and exact release dates for Bayo 2, Captain Toad TT and SMASH FOR U WII!

Well it's less pretty to look at than the Wii U version. I'm sure the people watching it live would rather not watch a 240p game blown up onto a big screen.

And I'm interested in seeing how it plays too but that's what Treehouse Live is for.

Much as I want to see more of Xenoblade Chronicles X, I think I'll wait until it comes out. Media black out time, and I seriously doubt they will show any of the Zelda U. Not sure if I will watch.

... And suddenly any intent of finding plans to do that weekend evaporate.

I need more Hyrule Warriors/Fantasy Life gameplay presentations in my life!

I feel bad for not remembering her name. But the female Nintendo dev was the best speaker during treehouse live.

Do you mean Audrey? I can see how some might find her cadence annoying but I think she had the best TV presence of the group. Nate was good too.

Oh God yes! Can't believe how hyped I can be for a live stream. I hope it really is the return of the Treehouse.

Someone should ask the Treehouse guys on Twitter to ask whether they'll be on.

Killin' it.

Sadly I expect it to be a lot of the same content we got at E3, but even so, it'll be good background noise for when I'm working. I can't really imagine they'll be showing more X, but probably more Smash Bros, Hyrule Warriors, Bayo 2 and Captain Toad. Probably Pokemon as well?
And a Fatal Frame localization announcement

It can consist entirely of fights in that giant robot Miyamoto demo for all I care.

This isn't actually a Treehouse Live thing, is it? I'm just reading "we're doing a stream".

They're doing "hours" of content for two days so it's not a regular stream and so is conceptually closer to the Treehouse format.
On July 25 and July 26, Nintendo will stream Nintendo Challenge Live, a stage show hosted from the Nintendo Gaming Lounge that features intense tournament competition and awesome game-play challenges from some of the hottest upcoming games on Nintendo platforms. Fans can open their browsers to http://www.twitch.tv/nintendo to catch all of the action and stick around for hours to soak in all the festivities.

The Bolded being pretty much what the Treehouse was.

Yes, she easily was the most poised of the bunch, and did a great job at keeping things moving smoothly in all the segments I saw her in.

yep she was awesome. the only time she slightly stuttered was during that awful fucking slide show for devil's third. really seemed like she had no idea what they brought and it was a slide show...they ended up showing gameplay but that first part was pretty brutal haha

OK, some GAFer attending Comic-con needs to run up to them as they're streaming and DEMAND an answer about Fatal Frame localization. Yeah, you'll be hauled out of there, but as they're dragging you away kicking and screaming, you'll know that you're the hero that we deserve, even if Treehouse is the one that we need right now.

I hope these surprises are good and not the "rumored" amiibos flying around to come in packaged with every wii u title... I forgot where I read the rumor though this morning...

I guess all it takes is losing a few hundred million dollars to figure out that you need to go out there and engage people in order to get them excited about your games.
