This is something I hope they adjust somewhat in the final game to give the losing team a small amount, like maybe 5 points. They're going to have problems with people who don't want to do PvP or are terrible at it but want potentially meaningful PvE gear that is tied to doing it. Unless in the final game you can do PvE missions for them or something to get rep.
Also, a person in the bottom half can still be a significant factor in the game. Just because a player isn't the best, it does not mean they are not a contributor to the win.
The lag is awful in the game. I will kill someone and then after a short delay I fall over dead. Bungie needs to get it sorted. This game needs dedicated servers for pvp.
Have you hit Level 8 and are looking for something to do? Have you done any of this:
Public Events
Hang around one of the large areas long enough (in Explore or a mission) and a Public Event will trigger. The sky will turn dark and your Ghost will tell you about a special mission. But hurry! You only have a limited time to complete it! Here's a list of the Public Events:
The Divide: Defeat the Devil Walker
Rocketyard: Eliminate the Target
Mothyards: Defeat the Excavation Crews, Defend the Warsat, & Eliminate The Target
Forgotten Shore: Defeat the Excavation Crews & Eliminate the Target
Skywatch: Defend the Warsat
The Steppes: Defeat the Excavation Crews
P.S. For the first Public Event you get Gold Tier on each day, you'll get a reward! It's waiting for you back at the Tower.
Devil Walker
You know that Devil Walker from the Devil's Lair Strike? He's there in the same spot in the Explore mission. Go try and beat him solo! Or bring some friends and see if you can perfect a strategy.
Gold Chests
There are five Gold Chests littered around the area. They should appear in most missions. The first is the one you stumble across in the first mission. Find all 5 for a special bonus:
an Uncommon Sparrow that is faster and more durable than the normal one
.
Bounties
You can take on a bounty from a merchant in the Tower. They come in two flavors: Vanguard and Crucible. They'll give you big EXP boosts so you can level up your gear and abilities much faster.
Exploring
Have you been to the Grotto? Gotten a high level Hive to fall to his doom so you can loot his living quarters? Taken a Pike from a Fallen in the Forgotten Shores? Found the caves where you can battle level 11 enemies (and win)? You could search around for loot chests (pro-tip: they make a high pitched noise when you're near them) or Spinmetal (they also make a noise when you're near them). Or find some dead Ghosts to revive. And I'm pretty sure you haven't been to the
New multiplayer high score for me. Pretty pleased, though I definitely felt a bit dirty. But I did have some pretty good gear. Game sure is fun when you are doing well!
Still haven't had anything above normal white items drop from Iron Banner. Oh well.
Man i was gone from fri till i just got home now for my friends bachelor party in Boston and i come back and the other thread gained like 200+ pages and then now this thats crazy!! haha. So what have i missed besides like my best time to play the beta and with all the clan peeps But just wanted to say im back feel free to msg me on PSN Squall516 and ill be around pretty much all week playing as much as i can to make up for the lost time lol ^_^
I could be wrong and it could simply be the lag but I just feel some of the players have a gun with a better rate of fire or more damage because it takes them less hits to kill me.
AI on normal is pretty much cannon fodder aside from the occasional "event of hordes." However, the higher difficulty shows some pretty decent AI behavior; flanking, movement, the different baddies have obvious organization patterns / uses which switch back and forth engaging the player. I'm pleasantly surprised.
Question; what are people thoughts on loading out a character with max armor, versus lower armor but buffed up traits - strength, intellect, etc? For instance, I'm rolling with a titan that's only 125 but a +29 strength and +11 intellect. My max potential load could be 150~, but no buffs. Is there a clear, obvious functional favoritism with the mechanics, or does it come down to player preference?

Monday and Tuesday. I'd hope they add more content, but I doubt it. Don't want to give us too much I guess?
I'd love if they would up the level cap to 10. I keep getting level 9 and 10 shit and then we'd be able to try out the second subclass. Again I doubt it as they wouldn't want us to tire ourselves of such a big part of the game.

It's super blurry (probably subHD), but holy shit is the performance ROCK SOLID. It's mind blowing how much shit will be going on and the framerate doesn't dip.at.all.

Nothing frustrates me more than seeing someone pop in front of me, then without any animation whatsoever, I got Fist of Havoced without even realising until after the kill details prompted it.
Note to self, just ask GAF for a group for Iron Banner matches next time. Only got one friggin win the last 2 hours. I didn't do bad but man my teammates were bleh!
Shotgun and crouch defending popular zones. I am by no means a beast at PvP kill-wise, but when I am in a team I usually get the highest scores, even if not the most kills (barely above one).
The trick is to shotgun and punch. AR is great for Venus in base B if you wait by the door and people are jumping from the sides into B. Just crouch and wait for them to appear and then take them out.\\
Obviously communication helps too. Letting teammates know there are X people going to A/B/C and making plans (you go to C, I'll hold down B, etc...) makes all of the difference. You can even warn friends with kill cam at where enemies are near them.
It would be nice if there was a clearer path to getting specific types of loot. I've played the strike on hard six times trying to get an uncommon auto rifle and it just isn't happening.
Basically, you go to the Rocketyard (which you pass through to enter the indoor area where you have to survive 3 waves to progress in the Strike) and circle around it.
I'm having similar issues and other games are performing fine. It also seems like the host has a huge advantage. the times when I kill someone only to fall over dead after the gun fight is over is very frustrating. Is the crucible p2p becuase it sure doesn't feel like dedicated servers.
I can't seem to choose between the Shingen-C and the Cydonia-AR3
While the Cydonia has higher damage and the glass half full attribute increases it further I really like the stability and ROF of the Shingen. I can't seem to choose one over the other.
Those big structures as you spawn into The Tower, go up to the computer and you can access it. The game never once told me either, just happened to pass by it.
