Not necessarily. The AoEs are only really good if people are clumped up. Hunters can get three separate kills even with people spread out. I'd say it's balanced; there's a tradeoff for each class.

There is a delay happening in mp right now. I have gotten killed before I turned a corner, dead within a sec from AR at range. Just not possible. Something is off.

Problem with Golden Gun is that you have no choice but to use the powers of guessing and anticipation, because you can't use it effectively on the spot like the others. You have to consider a whole lot more because of how long it takes to prepare it and taking into account you have to aim and shoot. There is such a massive chance of wasting it unless you are really good.
 
I have zero problems with the golden gun. Having to rev it beforehand makes me feel even more like a badass. Especially now that I have a chance to kill two players with one shot :).

The best part about facing a player with a golden gun is that they might miss, which I see happen a lot. Also, the golden gun destroys pikes in two shots and interceptors in three shots.

if you were invulnerable while it lasted it would be fair.

The amount of times i've shotgunned a titan in the face as he runs into the CP and does his special only to see him live makes me eye roll.

The move is bad enough but giving it invincibility frames also?

You should be able to take out the driver in 1/2 shots anyways, then you can just take the vehicle foe yourself! Also is great for clearing out the turrets.
 
Playing PvP and I was in very close melee range of a Hunter. They summoned their Golden Gun and I died during their animation! I don't know if that was a glitch but they didn't even fire at me.

Just the aura coming off them during that animation counted as a kill. Anybody else have that happen to them?
 
I assumed Golden Gun worked like the Gunzerker (very brief invulnerable and weapons do more damage) from Borderlands 2. It does not. Everytime I ended up using it I waited until I was going somewhere I knew enemies would be. Even then, having like 4 people shoot at me while I have 3 bullets and still die easily doesn't help much.
 
The real lesson here is that when you see a Hunter at the top of the scoreboard, that's because it's a great player. Warlocks and Titans can stumble up to the top of the rankings by herp derping around with their supers even while people shoot them in the face.
 
I think Destiny would have been a much better game if they set the game up like Halo/CoD with a SP and MP component totally separate. Combining the two just doesn't feel right.

Just reading the grimoire cards. Many are redacted, but the ones that are available are an interesting read. Recommend people interested in the story to check it out.

I didn't even know all Guardians are dead people chosen and revived by ghosts

Also, the way the tie in the crucible into the universe actually makes sense. Obviously it's an excuse to have PvP in the game, but it's nice that they thought about it.

There's been a lot of lag today. That probably explains it.
 
Sucks I barely got to play today and it will be down the next 2. *sigh*

Glad I'm off wed-thurs I will have to get lots of play time in then. Here's hoping it comes back with the moon available in PVE! Believe!

You underestimate the cosmetic factor.

Hunters are the best looking by default because cape, then Titans as the armour is cool.

Warlocks with their silly armbands and acolyte robes are poopy looking.

I personally prefer the Warlock armor over Hunter's but that's just my opinion man.
 
Golden gun is the best superb imo. Warlock and Titan can kill 4-6 people at the same times but it is very rare chance. Golden gun guarantee 2-3 kills if you do not have aiming problem. Seeing hunter with golden gun activated also give me an oh shit feeling.
 
I rock the warlock. I used on nova on 4 dancing fools and hit share but it didn't record. Seems you have to manually hold share button to save the clips. At least ik how share button functions now :)

Titans and Warlocks get damage resistance too (you can still kill them before they get it off, but you HAVE to see them coming and be ready for it).

Titans especially - they have a get out of shit free card with their super. Getting shot and you don't know where the enemies are? Mash that super and odds are you'll kill everything in the room. Come around a corner and run into a group of enemies because you sprint too much? Good thing you're a Warlock! Mash super and walk out with a triple kill like a boss.

Hunter? You better plan that shit out. People will drop everything they're doing while you're transforming Sailor Moon style. You have to think long and hard about when and where to pop Golden Gun.

One thing though - I've said it before, but people seriously don't grasp the range or width of the shot from that thing. I was effectively sniping with that thing with ease earlier today. And its the Interceptor killer of choice for all that know better too. Once you get penetration with it... its dope.

But again - its not something you can bail yourself out with at all. If anything, people tend to play too conservative with it and not use it as much as they should.
 
I was going to try to play until servers went down, but I'm tired. Laying in bed on Neogaf, guess I'll view a couple twitch streams until I fall asleep.

Hopefully the 23rd will open up the Moon since every platform will be online. Xbox users deserve a little extra given no Alpha and later start on Beta. (Do it for the Vine Bungie)
 
Well I got kicked from the tower. If you didn't get IB stuff there's very likely going to be more Iron Banner before the beta is over, so don't sweat it.

I really don't expect there to be more than 5 or 6 areas like Old Russia. I've spent a bit of time in explore mode, and the place is fucking huge. I just wish explore mode had a bit more of a luster to it, the random missions remind of the awful Skyrim ones. Even having a map that gets filled out with new places you explore would go along way with me.
