Golden gun is guarantee 2-3 kills if you do not have aiming problem.

And it's possible for sniper rifles to 1 hit kill if you get someone in the head.

But that's all it is, a possibility, a chance.

Titan/Warlock special is a guaranteed instant death zone in an area of your choosing, no if's no buts.

I got a grimoire notification last night for 750 warlock kills, and tonight for 900. If it's accurate, that's 900+ out of 1431 kills. Despite that, though, I feel like I've encountered more of the other two classes x.x Warlocks sure are mysterious.

Run into a group with reckless abandon and activate your invincibility frame laden ground pound killing everything in a 20 foot radius including people in the air?

And you're asking me if you herp derp?

idzQAEQYXEAa5.gif

Come to think of it, herp derping is usually how I win games, actually.

The number of cards in each category of grimoire cards is interesting. For the titan, it shows 3 melee abilities (only punch is unlocked), 8 sub classes (only striker and defender unlocked) and 18 grenades (!!! 6 unlocked - flash, lightning, pulse, magnetic, suppressor, scatter)

Golden gun is the best superb imo. Warlock and Titan can kill 4-6 people at the same times but it is very rare chance. Golden gun guarantee 2-3 kills if you do not have aiming problem. Seeing hunter with golden gun activated also give me an oh shit feeling.

I just selected the penetration setting (lol) for the GG and managed 4 kills out of it. But I had to activate the super before entering the engagement and aim afterwards.

It's the only balanced super in PvP honestly. Unlike the others, you can actually do something about it. A player can call out who has it, hear when it's activated, kill the Hunter at any time and attempt to dodge it, because it has to be aimed proper and is not a guaranteed kill. You also have to plan ahead to use it instead of smashing it when people are near. The others may be amazing in PvE, but they just end up being cheap panic cards in Crucible most of the time.

i played every time the Iron Banner games went up and i haven't received anything great.. anyone else experience the same?

Yup. I've been in all four and I don't think I've even obtained a green that wasn't a noticeable downgrade =/ I've watched at least 5 hand cannons and a ship be handed out though x.x

I made 3k glimmer in about 15 minutes doing the run I posted about earlier. Then I did the strike with Catfax and SnakeEyes and got the Level 8 Cydonia. Not too bad.

Well I got kicked from the tower. If you didn't get IB stuff there's very likely going to be more Iron Banner before the beta is over, so don't sweat it.

I really don't expect there to be more than 5 or 6 areas like Old Russia. I've spent a bit of time in explore mode, and the place is fucking huge. I just wish explore mode had a bit more of a luster to it, the random missions remind of the awful Skyrim ones. Even having a map that gets filled out with new places you explore would go along way with me.

We'll see at release regarding the open areas. I was thinking along the lines of 2-4 open roam areas per planet. If there are 5-6 total, I would have to ask Bungie, wtf have they been doing in the years it took to make the game?

I mean, yeah, Old Russia is big and awesome. But, Earth itself should have at least 2-3 more open world areas IMO. Hopefully closer to release, Bungie will give more details on this because honestly, Story and Exploration areas are my biggest draw to the game.

Titans and Warlocks get damage resistance too (you can still kill them before they get it off, but you HAVE to see them coming and be ready for it).

Titans especially - they have a get out of shit free card with their super. Getting shot and you don't know where the enemies are? Mash that super and odds are you'll kill everything in the room. Come around a corner and run into a group of enemies because you sprint too much? Good thing you're a Warlock! Mash super and walk out with a triple kill like a boss.

Hunter? You better plan that shit out. People will drop everything they're doing while you're transforming Sailor Moon style. You have to think long and hard about when and where to pop Golden Gun.

One thing though - I've said it before, but people seriously don't grasp the range or width of the shot from that thing. I was effectively sniping with that thing with ease earlier today. And its the Interceptor killer of choice for all that know better too. Once you get penetration with it... its dope.

But again - its not something you can bail yourself out with at all. If anything, people tend to play too conservative with it and not use it as much as they should.

This is pretty much how I've been feeling, especially after a few hours of Iron Banner. The hunter at this low level is a squishy bitch, and it's really hard to want to load up PVP knowing you're about to face spamming with no recourse if you decide to cap a point. But the Bladedancer subclass looks like it's what we're waiting for, the gif of it being the only reason I chose the class. Tried the other classes briefly, but I need the double/triple jump.

Picked up a new ds3 because my OG was getting beat up.

The build quality on the new ones really suck. L3 and R3 are hard to press when the the sticks are all the way up.

The ps3 graphics are bad too :/ The lighting is way too dark.

Must get a ps4 by september.

So apparently I was kicked out of the original group Playstation clan, because my name is not on the list anymore and the option to set it as my PS clan is back, but with an error.

Mm.

The summon time on the Golden Fun is the problem. It's a huge tell and the other two don't have tells.

I don't see why everything wouldn't transfer over to the main game. We're getting a five day advantage on everyone? Not too big of a deal, there would be an advantage regardless because some will get the game early.

They want us to play on the 26th to get some special emblem. Why else would we bother to get an emblem on the last day if something isn't going to carry over?

Because they've confirmed that we get to keep the emblem. However, they've only said they aren't sure yet on everything else. All they have to do is flag accounts that log in during that time to receive the emblem at launch to manage that.

There's still a chance, it's just usually best not to get one's hopes up. Especially when there's so much "maybe" going on with beta content and stuff already.

It also has a distinct sound of activation which gives you warning. It's too late when you hear the others.

Also, because they've opted for the "balanced" PvP, we wouldn't have an extreme advantage in multiplayer either. We may be more skilled from practice but we won't be OP.

I agree I'm not getting my hopes up. I will admit that since I've made five characters (3 in beta, 2 in alpha), I would really enjoy keeping my progress. I don't need to keep all my equipment even, but keeping my story progress would be kinda neat.

It is just a different way to use superb. The game and classes would be boring if evey superbs are the same.

Keeping my Grimoire score is most important to me. I didn't find all of those ghosts and golden treasure chests for nothing.

Hunters squish, but everything does in its own way. Hunters shine through being more versatile than other classes though. Where Titans and Warlocks wouldn't dare to use their modified jump, Hunters would be wrong if they didn't because of how much faster and more mobile it is.Throwing Knives are amazingly underrated too.

I'm hoping they make Impact more pronounced and handcannons more stable and usable without ADS in the future too. They're a perfect tandem.

2-3 more open roam areas of this magnitude per planet? Just think about it man, that's expecting too much. I know Bungie is a big developer and this has been in the burner for a while, but that's an intensive amount of large scale map design. That would also mean there would've been quite a bit of work done in UI and probably even NPC dialouge edits just for the alpha and beta to hide the possibility of there being a lot more than a handful of areas. I'd love to eat crow here, but I highly doubt that's going to happen.

And to be honest, I'd rather have quality over quantity; have more unique named enemies to find, having some random npcs/quest givers out there in the map, better missions that aren't collecathons, etc.. Even Borderlands had that shit, and many people consider that game to be completely barren.

Just getting started but can someone clear up A) what the emblems are for and B) What the vanguard and crucible marks do and how I get them? Are they just another form of currency that align me with a particular group?
