Can't wait to play full on GAF PVP again. Headsets, jumping on the tree in the Tower aka "Guardians of the Gal..-Tree", jumping over railing, bumping to each other to let the others fall down and basicaly dominate Crucible....

I've only encountered a few matches with campers. I hate when they do that in Control maps. Feels good to Titan smash them tho.
Can you really blame people for crouching and hiding though? I do it all the time in Venus in B since either I can hide and use shotgun punch or wait for them go jump into the control area and assault rifle them before they have a chance to defend themselves.

Also, has Bungie stated there is something special about Sealing, a class? There is an option within each tree to seal the choices so you cannot change them. Why would you do that?

Locking your focus gives a final stat boost to your class's primary stat. Upon locking a focus, you get a new copy of that focus that levels up faster according to this article:

Destiny allows you to freely swap your ability choices, but according to Green there comes a point when you can lock them in. This gives your Guardian benefits, such as a stat boost. At this point you get a copy of the same focus, but that copy levels up much faster, thus allowing experimentation.

Edit: Also it's a fairly lengthy article and a decent read. Couple months old, yet that bit of info from it seems little known. So I'd recommend it for those that haven't seen it before.

I am horrible at PvP. First, people have much better guns than me. Second, people keep running up behind me and I die before I even knew they were there. Reminds me a bit of Halo when some players spend their time hiding in corners waiting to pull off a sneak attack.
Learn to use the radar. I've "snuck" up on people because they don't know how to use it.

Any suggestions?

Also, look at your armor/armor upgrades, as some of the armor gives upgrades toward certain weapons, such as faster re-load times and such. I found this out late, but different classes, I'm a titan and my armor provides upgrades for Fusion Rifles.

This seemed to help me a bit get better in the Banner games, and this is my very first time playing an MMO, so I need all the help I could garner.

Hope this helps a bit for you. Good Shooting man!

Doesn't really hurt my team too bad when they do it. We won anyway because they didn't help their mates capture the points we took. I like that the capturing is faster with the more players together. It really makes capturing with a team more fun.

Names are one reason. Frankly, I didn't bother learning the names of areas during the alpha, and still only remember a couple. I can know the place like the back of my hand and still have no clue where a place is when mentioned by name.

We also have a map in orbit. I highly doubt our tech is so terrible that we can't pull up a map in the field. We can see how much health enemies have, summon a hoverbike from thin air and so on, but not look at a map? =p

I don't see how seeing a very generalized map like the one in orbit that just shows you sectors and their names would hurt exploration in the slightest.

What bothers me too, is that you have to talk to a robot to see the Tower map. Why can't I simply press a button whenever I want?

It's great. Until somebody like me comes and does his nova and kills like 4 people with it.

Thankfully I've memorized that one haha. And the app is awesome since you can check the map and vendor stock from anywhere. Saves a trip over to check on emblems or whatever x.x

Edit:
People are speaking about hard version, but I only have Lvl6 and lvl8 normal versions of it. I have no idea why the harder versions are not unlocking for me.

Yeah, the Level 8 version is what people mean. In the alpha, there wasn't a level selection option, but a proper difficulty change. And it showed you in detail how prepared you were. It appears they've replaced the detailed information, and it just tells you in a general form. That "normal" level 6 or 8 mission would say "Hard" if you were a level 5 or undergeared. When I first unlocked the strike on the map in the beta, it displayed it as hard.

Hopefully the proper difficulty modes will return in the full game, and they'll do a better job of explaining things. There's a ton of stuff that's just "figure it the fuck out". Probably, hopefully, just a beta thing.

Is it just me, or did Bungie perfect the console UI with Destiny? Everything in it feels so fluid and well built. Nothing seems like a chore to get to, it loads super fast, and, hell, even the menu screen with your ship just idling in space over the planet feels so elegant. I could leave that on my TV all day just as a screensaver.

I wish Ghost would talk through the controller speaker when you are out of range from him or have it talking through the controller speaker at all times. I loved that aspect of Transistor.

Loads fast? No. Shit takes forever to load anything including the tower. The fact there's no seamless joining of fireteams is an issue too.

Also I really do hope they add proximity chat for pve.

Honestly I would enjoy exploration much more if I had a map.

No, i wish Bungie don't change this or exploration mode gonna be ruined. I'm fed up with this part of the gaming community who wants everything displayed on their HUD and MAP.

Really can't wait to play it with a superior controller in a few days when it lands on XB1.

To all of those saying that hunters are thr best because they make up a big part of top 20...Titans are truly getting no love so definitely will make one for pvp in full game.

Hipster Admiral Woofington, ready to go.

How you guys get all that green loot?

NPC in The Tower, Devil's Lair, random loot on high level Hive or Fallen, latest story mission in "hard" mode, random loot in Crucibles.

Do the spider tank mission in strike. You are likely to get some green loot there. Only part I'm missing is a green helmet since I'm always grabbing shit that is level 9 and 10 that has colors.

First time I did this I got mad loot. Even got a Blue Item. Did it again last night and I got zero. Butkis! Bug?

I'm with those who think that the PvP is solid but just needs tweaking, rather than feeling it's broken or fundamentally flawed. Had a lot of fun with it this weekend.

I finally got a cloak for my hunter last night :) along with a Cydonia AR3... my word that rifle is disgustingly good when stock and with upgrades it's just nasty; came top every game I used it.

I just read that apparently Hunters are OP.

But from the limited time that I spent on the game, I truly think that it just happens to be that the ones ranked in the top ten are just hunters atm.

You wait till launch you'll see a very diverse list in there, it just so happens that currently we are seeing the hunter trend, and to be honest it's weird.

My buddy was all for warlock like ever since day one, but after playing on a hunter he's now all up in the hunters vote, which I might add has really annoyed me as it's going to mess with the fireteam dynamic :\

FRIENDS AYE?!! ERGH!

So what gear are you guys running at the moment? My Warlock;

Armor;

Weapons;

Armor is mostly focused on Discipline and Auto Rifle stuff for Crucible. I like using my grenades a lot and the increased throw distance from the helmet is great. Shingen C rips apart everything in Crucible; high fire rate yet insanely stable, with this one even becoming more accurate as you fire! Scout Rifle for PvE, Shotgun and Sniper depending on the situation.

P.S.; Angry Magic is amazing.

How did you get the arm band for the warlock ????

So the game won't be back up until wednesday?

Edit:
Is the game still open? I thought it was supposed to go down on monday and tuesday. People in this thread are talking like it it still working.

So quick question? What's going on with Crucible multiplayer for newcomers (not really, I was a level 6). I finally got onto a match last night (my first one) and got blown away. It seemed like my weapon was doing nothing and everyone else's was overpowered. The only kill i got was with my super charge strike. Was anyone else overwhelmed with their first multiplayer match?

Had the exact same experience with my level 6 warlock at both the regular match and iron banner. Getting one-shotted by level 8 hunters three levels above me while my auto rifle seemed to have no effect. The hunters completely dominated the match. The hunters were decent and I'm not the best at PvP, but they weren't THAT good and me and the others on my team weren't THAT bad.

I know I need to improve my game--it was my first match--but I have to say, something just felt imbalanced. I've been playing shooters a long time. Maybe the matchmaking needs to be improved, I don't know. It certainly wasn't a good intro for a new player coming into PvP. I can see some new players getting frustrated after a few experiences like that and focusing on PvE.

Their UI is super intuitive. No need for any tutorials. I totally understood it as soon as I used it.

As I said in another post, they could hide it the first time to keep the sense of exploration. But after you explore for the 10th time, why not give us a map? I'm sorry but I have a wife and kids and my gaming time is really limited. I don't have time to memorize a map. What is true is that perhaps with time I will memorize it eventually.

I am curious. Why don't we have pc version for Destiny ?

It is an online game. They will not have pirate problem here.

Many rumors and comments from Bungie lead to think there will be a PC version.

Not really hipster as much as taming opportunities. Titans have a bit more armor and at the end of the day that makes the whole difference. I'm always terrified if I have to fight a titan head to head and I didn't start damage first.

Never really had a problem in Crucibles against Titans, except with their Super. But then again, i've a good set and this baby in particular:

Careful not to port beg! :p

I believe there's a Polygon interview where they discuss this with Eirk Hirshberg, CEO of Activision.

I can't check as I'm at work, but the quoted text in this article seems to be from that.
