It makes sense that they would raise the level cap and add new zones during the maintenance. It's like a small scale practice run for the expansions where they get to test the process and see what breaks.

Some distinguished Notifications for Super charged, Melee ready, Grenade up etc would be awesome coming from the DS4 Speaker.
Speaking of charged supers: I wish the game would show, whether people have their supers ready. Would take at least a little annoyance from cheap death in a way, that i could run away, seeing a charged Titan dashing in my Territory.
The indicator that shows a player's level will be outlined and flash in a yellow glow when they have a super ready.
Now that I think about it, this game needs the halo narrator for double, triple kills and sprees.
Didn't think I would like destiny, but now that destiny isn't available for two days I need it in my veins.
Really? How didn't i notice that with 20 hours in the Crucible? x( Thanks, mate!
Is this for enemies and teammates alike?
I read these perfectly in his voice until the last one when all I could hear was Tiny Tina. They should just use the guy they have now.
"Ha Haaaa, that's a double kill Guardian. The Crucible is no place for mercy."
"Incredible, Guardian. That's your 10th victim in a row. The Crucible rewards the strong."
"Guardian, you shot that fool right in the face. You da best"
etc

After a certain point, i think the skills just...stop going up. Like my warlock has been stuck at the exact same spot as far as skills.Stupid question probably, but can anyone tell me how I unlock the additional abilities options after I have reached the level cap? I have noticed them go up even tho I am not earning XP, I'm assuming the additional grenade options level up with grenade kills etc?
I literally can't believe that the two days I have off work (Monday and Tuesday) are the days the beta is offline
Just... ughhhh
Screwed around with Share Factor for the first time using a bit of my Destiny play from last night.
I went exploring into some higher level areas-areas where most enemies can just about one shot you. I got some pretty good footage of a huge Hive colony near the Forgotten Shore and a peak at a massive enemy toward the end.

has anyone ripped the beta ost yet? specifically, the tracks from the Story missions?

Great stuff there.

I remade my third character 4 times just to listen to the song that plays when your Ghost is firing up your space ship for the first time and you fly away from the oncoming Fallen.
Question! Has anyone figured out how hip firing works yet? I'm pretty certain that it follows the Counter-Strike logic of "your bullets will go here for this shot, here for this shot, and here for this shot, with some random-ness applied" as opposed to the "modern shooter" idea of "aim down sight or you're a MISSING FAILURE FEEL BAD MACHINE."
If not, I wish it was. That's like the perfect synergy right there. Oh, man.

your level stops but earning exp still progresses the skill trees it seems.

It seems that most of the comments here are about PvP so I assume that's what people played the most. I'm a little concerned about the PvE. As already been mentioned, the content seems a bit sparse and the gameplay grindy. I've played both the Alpha and Beta, and both times I've stopped do to disinterest. Don't get me wrong, I've had some great times playing and can see the potential, but that has only been in isolated instances.
As someone who is primarily interested in PvE this has me considering canceling my preorder and waiting for reviews. I realize that this is just a slice of the game for beta and that we are only seeing the low level stuff, but other beta's like Diablo III's were able to show a limited portion of the game and yet pull me in. Should I be this concerned?

It can be somewhat accurate so long as you don't go too crazy. Really short bursts seem to work mid-range.
Thing is, the mid-to-long range is dominated by ADS, so you have to be closer than usual for hip-fire to really be effective.
I tried playing exclusively with hipfire (with scout rifle, hand cannon) but you absolutely won't get as frequent yellow critical hits or instant headshots than with ADS which is snappy and faster to kill the enemies than taking your time with hipfire. It's only really viable at much shorter distances, especially for indoor environments or when enemies rush at you (Thralls).I hip fire all the time with my scout rifle, haven't noticed any less accuracy. Probably sue to the fact that this is from Bungie, the Halo series never really adopted the ADS system.
I agree, especially since the weapon designs themselves don't vary among weapon types.Am I the only one dissapointed with the weapon variety? Do you guys know if the full game has a better variety of auto-rifles, shotguns, sniper rifles and maybe even SMGs. The weapon variety has been the most dissapointing aspect so far and I feel a game like this can really benefit from it.
I second this. Amazing.
