'The Last of Us: Remastered' coming to PS4, July 2014, [1080p, targeting 60 fps]

Speaking of reviews, this stuck out to me lol:

But...that is failure...

His reviews never really make much sense anyway.

Tom Chick to me always seems like a guy who would form a specific narrative in his head about a game before he even touches it, and then writes down every point in the game that could be twisted to fit that narrative as he plays it. Sadly, his TLOU review isn't even as bad as it gets.

His stuff about the grim tone of TLOU and how the game does not justify Joel's brutal actions fits this theory perfectly.

I get the impression a few reviewers do this. To be fair it is hard to set aside preconceived notions or bias, buuuut that's their job...

I've never trusted Polygon, their articles are decent but I avoid them for reviews. I'm pretty sure its common knowledge that they publicly admitted taking a large "donation" of money from Microsoft.

i dont even think its that. Just reading their reviews you can see where they just bitch about random stuff about a game that shouldn't bring the score down.

What does this mean?

The original trophies for the multiplayer DLC read as:
Complete a match on ______ without dying and getting at least 3 downs or executions

So now you need to get 5 downs or executions on a given map for the trophy, but it doesn't need to be in one life. Makes them easier to get.

That definitely goes down easier on readers than "Yeah so I wasn't really paying attention to the story, something something hard times or something. Lemme just skip these cutscenes so I can finish faster and get that amazing review done." Heh.

Oh nice, would have been really time consuming and tedious to do without dying.

I love getting trophies. Will I be able to collect any new trophies in the Remastered edition for Factions?
Quentin Cobb: Remastered will include all DLC trophies along with the original game trophies. No new trophies were added but 8 of them were changed to be easier to earn.

That sounds like Grounded mode will be required for the plat. SHIT! 😱

still no 60 fPS gameplay? Wtf naughty dog?

I doub't we'll get any. Look how people (drive-by trolls, mostly) react when screenshots leak ("hardly any difference!" "50$ for this? NO THANKS, it looks exactly the same!" etc etc). If they release 60fps footage, it will just be re-uploaded to YouTube, and then we will have 30fps, compressed footage of the game...and people will be overreact and trash it, again. I can understand their reasoning for not wanting to show anything thus far.

Yup. And now since I listened the other day to bombing in the AM Patrick had a reviewer from Polygon on. She said that reviews are criticized internaly before being published. So this guy's Co workers read him bitching about retarded things and still had it published.

You only need to earn the non-DLC trophies to get the platinum on TLOUR. Also, The MP DLC trophies were changed for the PS4 version so you have to earn 5 kills in one game on each DLC map. Deaths do not matter for those map specific trophies.

Oh, you're Quentin? Awesome, thank you very much for the info.
I love you and ND <3

I am not looking foreword to playing that basement section again.

My heart will be racing like every single time before, but I so far, I never died.
What I'm not looking forward to (Winter Spoiler)
is what follows immediately after meeting Nolan North's Character. On Grounded Difficulty. Fuck that part.

That last part you mentioned... easily the hardest part of the game for me on Survivor. I'm scared of what it'll be like on Grounded.

Completely solidifies my beliefs on how fast the excitement changes in moments like that : "Oh sweet, look at all this stuff, awesome, I'm going to load up and OH NOOO WHY ARE THEY GIVING THIS TO ME WHAT'S GOING TO HAPPEN. lol.

Has it been increased to more than one shot, one kill?

The first part is just a matter of shooting them as they enter so that you can pick up their ammo, so that shouldn't be much more difficult. The second part (ending with the bloater) is best done by rushing to pick everything up and then heading back to the corridor. You can't be surrounded here and it's just a matter of turning on the spot to kill everything. Don't let the bloater into the corridor though ... and make sure you sprint to pick up the dropped ammo just before the next wave hits.

After that part on survivor... I've made my decision. I will not be playing grounded mode. Not unless I want to buy a few new controllers. FUCK that part.

Oh, that's easy regardless of what difficulty you play it on:

Get the key card first (after you've searched thoroughly). On picking it up, ready your shotgun and kill the stalkers. Head to the generator and turn it on. As soon as it sparks into life, turn, forward, right, right again, up the stairs, left, left, use card key and get out of there.

You forgot to try to open the door before starting the generator. Otherwise, while stuck in the animation, you can get hurt
