On the XBox? Not sure, but you can background download it.
Just back out to the Dashboard, quit the app, then start it again. That got it to work for me. The download is still going really slowly though.
It's not letting me. I'm getting on error called buzzard, which when I check on bungie.net means you need Gold (or PS+ for PS4) to play the beta.

yeah I was thinking it might be like KZ or UC MP. And I think you do get a tiny amount of points when you capture areas ...but yeah good to know now lol
I'm watching TV and it's fine, just don't have the app open.
It'll happily download in the background.

Yep. I remember reading that public level cap was 8, but character specialization went up to 15. You have 14 unlocked plus your starting level of 1.
This is the screen that says "transferring game content" right? I've got to 25% and really don't want to have to go back to zero. I've already done the initial download.
damn, well it crashed/corrupted twice for me doing this so just saying better safe than sorry.
Mine did that, but it corrupted so downloading without the actual app open now, just don't mess around with it and leave it and it'll be fine, just watch tv and it'll just carry on downloading.
The transfer stuff is just it saying it's downloading the full game.
I'll keep trying and hope it works for me. D:

Friend of mine is on a trial account and just finished downloading. He's also saying that he can't get into the beta currently.

Anyone else that played on both notice that the PS4 version feels "heavier"? Can't tell if its the game or controller differences, but the game feels lighter on XB1. I thought it might have been a beta update, but after going back to PS4 after XB1 to try it out, turning still feels a lot heavier on PS4 to me.

any chance your noticing the difference in controllers? the sticks are shorter on the DS4 and it might make it feel that way. After I put XB1 sticks in my DS4 is feels looser due to the longer sticks.

I started transferring the content when the game said it was ready to start. I suppose that wasn't true.
