What the hell is going on? I cannot complete a story mission before I disconnect. This cannot be how the final game plays where a random disconnect boots you out of the story mission. It's unacceptable.

Eh, PVP has sucked tonight. I'm either on a team that sucks balls and it's frustrating, or a team that's too dominant and it's boring. No tight matches. No middle ground.

Also, that day off regressed my skills big time. I'm a poor to mediocre player to begin with so it's been rough.

I miss Mars and Earth too. =(

Yeah, the only interesting and tight matches I had tonight happened when my fireteam was split up into opposite teams. Otherwise it was just boring 20000 vs <10000 pubstomps.

I was also getting some lag and that horrible audio bug. My fireteam was fun and made it all bearable though.

Except for AJ. You suck, AJ.

Based on the screenshots I've seen of the 360 version, my initial guess for horizontal res is 1024; it certainly isn't 1280, at any rate. Haven't been able to take much of a stab at vertical.

I've learned all that I need to know for Destiny PvP:
- GAF Team is superior team.

After playing this beta on both platforms, I can honestly say that it's more enjoyable on the X1 for me. It runs smoother to me and I prefer the X1 controller much more for FPS overall.

PS4 version is still amazing all around and I would be just as happy owning the PS4 version.

I'm feeling the opposite. I still hate the bumpers on the X1 controller and with how often I use them as a hunter it gets annoying. I'm not seeing any judder any longer on the PS4 version after the update, and the better draw distance, AA, and res makes it look noticeably better. Not by much, but it's there.

So far, XB1 version seems to be a little blurrier in most instances, but it's not a huge difference (due to the type of AA being used) [edit: actually, looking at them back to back, it is a fairly substantial difference, but next point is important], and it's going to be 1080p at launch anyway.

I definitely like the PS4 controller better for the game than the XB1 controller. It just feels better for this kind of game, and I'm able to get headshots better on PS4, not to mention the touchpad being a superior button than the one used on XB1.

In terms of smoothness, they are the exact same.

Did the beta get harder since the update today? I just had the most badass experience at the cosmodrome. Was just farming kills for a bounty and doing missions with two other randoms in the area. All of a sudden the waves got heavier and then two drop ships came in one after another. One of those weird metal cylinders hovered in and started sucking stuff up with a blue beam before the screen went weird and boom, public event. A huge walker drops in, and just wave after wave of drop ships starts coming in, with very little time in between. I had just put on my headphones before the fight, and didn't turn the volume down, so everything starts going tits up, and that soundtrack is just pumping in my ears. For some reason, no one else likes to use the big machine guns, and those are awesome against walkers. So I'm in the center building plugging away at the legs with the heavy gun, ducking for cover when the big muzzle swings on my direction, then switching to auto rifle to try and pick off the swarms of dregs and vandals converging on the other guardians. I run out of heavy rounds so start emptying the fusion rifle into it as time runs out.

It was way more intense than the devil's lair strike. There had to be twice the enemies, the drop ships were laying down actual suppressing fire, and on the cosmodrome, you can get flanked easily, whereas you can easily control there engagements in the strike. It wasn't just that public event though. I felt that my entire session up until that point had been more difficult. Where I used to run headlong into every skirmish and just shoot and melee my way out, I found myself actually retreating a few times. I'm level 8, but I've never felt this level of difficulty before in the alpha or even prior to the maintenance this week. Is anyone else in the same boat? I don't mind the challenge though. PEACE.

Gunsmith is selling the Jigoku SR3, which is the best scout rifle in the beta imo. He'll be selling it for about 3 hours. Get it.

I literally just completed the strike on hard trying to get it and of course as soon as I go to the tower it's available.

They already spilled the beans on the 360s res in a GDC/siggraph talk. The height is 720, the width is a little skinnier.

holy #%@$ at the Fallen vs Hive war at Skywatch. That and the Devil Walker event with 3 or more random people are too intense.

My body is ready for Raids

To be fair, Sony got Bungie's input on how to design their controller, so you could say that the Dualshock 4 is how Bungie intended it to be played.

Just sayin.

Destiny has an alternate scheme that uses L1/R1 for aim and fire, right?

If only every other PS4 shooter had that option.

Guys please keep that console war shit out. Dax said it already.

Yes. Xbox also has that option. Feels weird though on Xbox.

Did they ever specify anything? I don't remember the GDC talk getting all that technical, and the SIGGRAPH talk just says that 1200x720 is the highest practical resolution that you can fit into 10MB at 96 bits per pixel, never specifying what they're actually going with on 360.

(Actually, I'm not convinced that the height is 720. I expected it to be, but the admittedly poor edges I've found suggest it might be lower. It might just be the shitty image compression, though.)

Gotta love the PS4's still broken video share. Played an awesome multiplayer match. Had pushed the share button just before it started (sometimes this jump starts it to start recording) After the match find the only thing recorded being the menu at the end. Just unbelievable how it still isn't even somewhat working like it should.

So I've been goofing in the beta and such, and I found an area behind the land ship area(where you do the radio towers?) and if you follow a path around a corner, it curves into an area called the GROTO. Anyway, I get there, insta killed by one of those ?? dreds. But I don't give up. I'm like "I want to see whats there!" So I get on my bike, dodge some bullets, curve around some hive ?? and find a hive ship and dive straight into to only get killed by a weird enemy called "The Shrieker" This is the kind of weird stuff I like to find!!! Anyone else see that thing? Its like a spinning alter or something...

Yep. That was in the alpha too.

Holy fucking shit.....that Devil's Lair mission is absolutely insane..... very surprised how dificult this game is....very intense

Also Im amazed how good looking the PS3 version is...didnt expect much, but it is probably th best looking PS3 game

I prefer the DS4 overall but the XB1 pad's triggers are perfection.

You can't really go wrong with either version for Destiny.

I'm playing the PS3 version and I think it looks like ass. Like a PC game running on 'medium' settings.

But I am having a lot of fun with it. The shooting and controls feel very tight.

What? How could my opinion be wrong? And how is me saying the DS4 is better for this game any more wrong than somebody else saying the XB1 controller is better for this game? I can only imagine that anybody saying the XB1 controller is superior on here is just really used to the Xbox controllers. I'm used to them, but they haven't been my primary controller since the original Xbox days.
