After playing both versions, I definitely personally prefer the Xbox One controller. It feels way more natural to me, and I've had easier times getting head shots. It also feels easier to melee as well.

With that said, this game is going to be something special. I can't wait for the full release! I'm gonna try and do everything this beta has to offer!

Anything new get added after maintenance? Probably jumping back in tomorrow but was just wondering if they unlocked anything, like the moon mission.

I may still have a few concerns about the staying power of the game, but I recently did something absolutely amazing. Video soon I hope.

Well it isn't a subscription MMO, so I am not too concerned with "Staying power". If I get a substantial amount of hours from the game and then put it down until an expansion comes out, that's fine by me.

I have played levels 1-8 + some PVP four times over now (two characters each in Alpha and Beta) and it is still entertaining.

was watching ninja stream destiny on XB1 tonight a bit ... the shadow quality seems really really poor. Hope they bump that up, really ugly

So, this is the first FPS I've played apart from the BioShock series and Halo, both of which on easy. I'm trying to get through the first dark area, but the boss character is super hard. I'm using the warlock class and I'm starting to think I chose the wrong class or something. My attacks do basically nothing and I die so easily.

What should I do? I've been trying this encounter for 45 minutes already...

My best suggestion..in all honesty...is to find a couple people to join up with in a fire team and do it together...at least until you've got an arsenal of uncommon weapons and gear...

Eh, it's whatever. Seems very limited. Very little story progression beyond a few lines by the Ghost, I think the level 2 mission, I just grinded for a while not knowing what to do. Killing the boss was tough but doable. After that, I literally just sprinted to the darkness area, avoided most enemies, took down the main boss easy. I think I did the hive/wizard think in literally 20 seconds. I had some fusion pistol by then, just threw a grenade, used the charged up pistol twice and boom. Go back to tower, get whatever is available, spawn back on earth, sprint and repeat.

I'm hoping this is all for the beta, just to have a taste. Or maybe it's that the Xbox 360 version is so limited. The best parts so far are the music, what little info I get about the story/lore and seeing the different weapons. Maybe once I unlock PvP I'll get more out of it.

Considering my friends don't game I doubt I can find anyone. :/

I can absolutely GUARANTEE that if you asked around in this thread and got a few PSN/XBL names (I assume XBL since you've just started playing) that some fellow gaffers will play through the missions with you...we're all grinding them looking for weapons and armor anyway hoping that some of it gets to transfer to retail...

Luckily I've got friends to play with...because I'm kind of an anti-social gamer lol...very social outside of gaming...but if I'm not playing with friends I know personally I rarely will play with people...though I will accept a friend request lol...

This might just be the placebo effect, but I feel that enemies have become a lot more aggressive and a little smarter after the maintenance. I just started a new Hunter and the enemies at level 1 are suddenly throwing grenades and taking more cover etc. Anyone else notice this?

Loving this game. The atmosphere is simply stunning to me. The soundtrack is probably the best I have experienced since journey.

X1 version plays and feels the same as the PS4 to me. I greatly prefer the X1 controller for shooters so I'm a lot better on the Xbox. Not sure which version to get....

So a couple questions, truly sorry if they have been asked before:

1) What is there to spend crucible marks on, and where? Also, how do you get them?
2) How are crucible drops handled? Had a friend play 6 rounds in a row and not get one, while I got a bunch in the same 6 rounds. He did better most of the time
3) What's the most reliable way to get new weapons? PvE drops? PvP drops? Gunsmith?

edit: bonus question that I just thought of:

4) Quickest way to get glimmer?

Well, this looks pretty damn good. Anyways, Pulse vs Auto rifle? Which one has the edge right now?

Pulse Rifle isn't even in the running. It's scout rifle vs auto rifle, and in most cases, the auto rifle is what you should go with. Though I'm referring to PvP here.

if you are talking about the "boss" found down the steps of that first little building on the left side where you start most of the story missions then I don't think you can beat him alone or at all in the demo. He has a ??? level which means he is out of your league at the low levels the demo caps you at.

Don't bother him and keep it moving.

Have they talked about the eventual capabilities of the iOS app? I like seeing the tower map, and seeing all the wares, but I want to be able to buy items for my dude from it, and equip new stuff

So you havent even played the content of the beta and the part you played you rushed through or "grinded" for whatever reason?

Yup, seems like the perfect way to ruin it.
Do you have a mmorpg background by any chance?
