Need a little bit of gear to stand a chance or get 2 buddies to help ya out
I tried a Hard story mission alone was 3 levels below and it took for fucking ever to kill the last boss

Maybe 1 level before Hard version becomes normal you stand a better chance

I mean Devil's Lair for me now is considered Normal as level 6 and 8, cause I'm 8, but when I was 7, it was still considered "Hard"

yea, I see. I had The Duke ( a handgun) and the starting shotgun. So basically I need more gear seems like.

Please quit telling people how to feel/what to do. I prefer playing the story sequences alone. I'll go to Explore, Strike, The Tower, and The Crucible when I want a "social experience". It would be nice not to have people running around and dancing in front of me when I'm trying to get into the mood of the story.
You know, at a certain point, a genre is a genre...you may want something different, but if you go into a game that calls itself a "shared-world shooter" built around these principles, you can't really question when the game behaves in this way.

As others have suggested, perhaps the game just isn't up your alley? Or, who knows, maybe you will learn to appreciate what the game is trying to do.

But either way, the encountering people thing no matter what path you're on is kind of the point. Though, the game does section off large story point-segments so that no one else will show up in them.

Edit: Bungie also has called this the "crossroads" between a player's path in the game. Here are all these guardians, each with different destinations, and on their way they will pass through these public crossroads and see each other. But upon arriving at their destination, it will be them and only them (and their fireteam).

Surely loot is the last thing to care about, given the level cap in the beta?

I was initially hoping for it to be carried over, but seeing as you can get to 8 in no time at all I don't really care either way.

They can still be dismantled for glimmer and upgrade parts, and items in the vault can be shared between classes.

Most likely the items will not carry over to retail, but there is no reason not to keep them in case they do.

(XBONE) Destiny is giving me so much trouble right now. it continually freezes in the installer. If I force quit it on the dashboard and leave it installing in the May Games & Apps section it will download about a percent every half hour, if even that. It will often times simply stop downloading and revert to "Queued."

It's been 5 hours at this point and its only at 45%

If no one having a similar issue?!? I got 25 mbps business class internet, this should not simply be on my end, yet the only complaints of slow downloads that I see are from people with slow internet.

Hive:

Do the level 5 story, if your level 8, just do it on Hard for fun (maybe better loot?)
Once you start the array part of the story mission (last part), there will be 3 waves

First wave mini bosses are the 2 wizards
Second wave is 2 Huge Axe Wielding Knights
Last wave is the Boss, a Hive Major/Ultra (He has a yellow health bar)
Save a few of the Acolyte grunts, kill boss, run outside towards the array and commit suicide
You will die, respawn at the cutscene of the Hive ship dropping down, now repeat until you have gotten 10 kills
I needed 7, so it took me 45 minutes roughly to get them

Fallen:

I think just doing the Devil's Lair strike nets you 3 kills for the 10 required
First section is the Captain that comes at 3rd wave while the ghost is unlocking the barrier
Second section is that Devil Walker that blocks your path
Third is Sepkis Prime

So do 3 full Devil's Lair then 1 till 1st boss and you should be golden

I have 3/10 for Fallen so yeah, need 7 more, finished the Hive bounty

This is knowledge.

In addition to the WarSat Public Event that was also mentioned, I'd say that sticking around Skywatch until that crazy Fallen mobpocalypse starts pouring into the area is a good way to get all those Majors. I accepted and cleared that bounty after 30m of hanging around that area.

Something is wrong. I have 25 mbps hardwired and it took less than 90 minutes while I was watching tv.

I mean.... then this may not be the game for you? Nothing wrong with that. When I don't want to play with people, I don't boot up Guild Wars

You're both missing the point. All I said is that I (and others) have pointed out one thing we don't care for: that other human characters are present during story missions. There's nothing wrong with us mentioning that or pondering why there couldn't be an option to keep other players out during story missions.

I love Destiny. It's not fair to say the game isn't for me because of that one complaint. The fact that I enjoy all of the other modes isn't relevant? Nor the fact that I still do enjoy the story missions, just not as much as I would have without other human characters interfering?

And like you said, certain sections DO block out other characters. So that obviously acknowledges that there is a need to keep players away at times. I just wish people were kept out of my story missions entirely. That's all.

Seconded. Is this for the PS4? For the life of me, I can't get an Uncommon Auto Rifle! I have Hand Cannons, RPGs, etc. but no Auto Rifle. I did get one (Cydonia) that had like 37 damage. :( As it stands now, I'm using the Galahad-B with 51 damage for MP. I need some top tier gear for when The Iron Banner starts again.

Moved all my good gear from my Hunter to my Warlock through the vault.

Finally having a proper jumping skill and super again feels good man.

Why don't we ask Bungie to add LAN party support?

Win-Win in my opinion.

I had to grind the strike mission 5+ times to get one. so random

It starts at 45 attack...the other one a couple down from it starts at 57...IIRC...the 45 won't level up to 62 attack...am I correct in that assumption?

I think the guns to the left are lower level, maybe 4. someone should take their new character to the gunsmith and check.

I only played for little over an hour, but feel sold. It's a completely different feel than halo to me so I'm not sure where those comparisons are coming from. It feels a lot like what defiance wanted to be but of course not clunky and ugly looking. I do wish the coop was more integrated. If they're going to put people in the same area just have them all involved with the same coop mission. I look forward to playing more.

Ok...so I'll grab the 57 that "gets more accurate the longer it's fired"

I'm gonna have quite the 62 attack Cydonia collection by the time this beta is done lol

The Cydonia-AR3 62 ATK Auto Rifle - Slows down fire rate when zoomed in, but adds damage bonus.

This is my gun, there are many like it, but this is mine.

They are. As soon as you hit the actual mission you're instanced. Everything before that is travelling through the open world.

They did what you wanted, any more would be changing their vision of this being a shared experience. You get plenty of alone time in Destiny if you want it.

I managed to get the afternoon off, I'll actually get to play before beta end! Determined to get my crucible k/d over 3 by the end if the day. So hyped! Ahhhh!

Any EU pvp players on ps3 looking for fire team members? Add me: fluentfox

Just played the Xbox One version for 10 minutes or so, definitely some noticeable aliasing on things like railings and some poor shadows but overall very pretty to look at. The jump to 1080 should help out.

I don't know what you mean. How would it break anything? In the Story missions, each player could play separate from the shared Explore world. It would be nice not to see anyone at any point during the story missions.

Umm, the world events are for the most part a group effort. If the world was split it would (like I said before) break it. What you want them to change isn't as minor as you'd like to think. If seeing people in the open portion of the story missions is such a big deal to you then perhaps this isn't the game for you.

If we want to get technical though; You actually are alone in the story missions. When you pick a mission, you aren't dropped into the mission, but you are dropped near the mission. Still have to travel to it.

I've got 3 of them now with different attributes...I wonder how many variations there are?

for Uncommon, I expect only about 5-10 variations max, but I am expecting much more with Rare and up.

I ragularly get 150-167 headshots with my Cydonia-AR3, and it murders in PVP as well as PVE.

Where can I find hive/fallen majors?

For the Hive, I waited for the "Warsat Public Event" in Skywatch, there you can get some of the Hive Majors. Had to do it two times to get my Bounty.

For the Fallen, this Bounty is pretty easy. He spawn with a ship right in front of the exit of the Wall and runs with three other Fallen towards the Plaza with the "Devil Walker Public Event". When you kill him, he respawn after a Minute and you can kill the 10 of him in pretty much no time.
