Was reading the lore thread, ha!

Here I am again..."aaaand it's the fallen."
So the bungie.net is showing greyed out hunter ( I am a titan).

Sounds like you have exactly the same glitch that I have. I've read a fair few posts now about it so I'm guessing it's quite common. As long as it's fixed for Sept 9th I'm not overly worried.

I got like 2 or 3 from 10 runs I think. Will see tonight. By the way, you on PS3, right? You can add me if you want. PSN is Jagaman7.

I'm not sure if you have topick them up when he dies or if they're auto added. I always just run through his corpse anyway just in case.

I'll add you when I'm home!

Yeah, what I really like about Destiny is the seamless variety of game modes and stuff to do. I also really like that it drops me into random fireteams to complete story missions, and I don't have to manually go through matchmaking to get there. I haven't had the opportunity to play with friends yet, but me and two randoms took down that strike mission together (something Prime) and it was a lot of fun.

I do wish the tower hub was more robust, with more missions and stuff to do ("get 3 jump kills"? Really Bungie? Zzzz), but considering the beta is just a taste, I'm sure there is much more in the full game.

I wish I could justify the $90 digital edition, though. I have the physical $60 paid off at GameStop, and the idea of not having to deal with a disc for a game I know I'm gonna have for months has a lot of appeal.

I hope the tower hub will have more to do. But i think it's more close for social stuff like they intented to do. Showing of your gear and guns for example but also interact with your clan and friends. It's a very small portion of the game very small maby 2% ? I think even in PvE your going to visit a lot of planets and do raids/dungeons with friends or solo. But i also hope we can remove the hud to make screenshots i really want that. Here in the netherlands the PS4 limited edition is 110 euro's but comes with those 2 expansions. And that's ok for me.

Good, considering how few Titan players there appear to be ingame. Survivability should go up as well with the second subclass.

That subclass will be so awesome when defending control points. Warlock space magic for a cheap multi-kill? Nope, activating shield to protect my buddies! >=)

Also the sound design seems weirdly poor. The music I think sounds great but rarely seems to fit what's actually going on in the game. The weapons also sound really bad after playing Wolfenstein: The New Order. Actually, this entire game seems pretty bland after playing Wolfenstein. Massively disappointed :l
...wut. The New Order has shit sound design. In fact, I was actually surprised at how good Destiny sounded with a headset on.

having fun with gaf

but how to get the tag destiny gaf ?
Whoa hey was that 2 days ago? I need to add some of you guys. I'll be back on soon today.

Definitely. There's even an ability that gives any who runs through the bubble shield a temporary overshield. I'm really liking what I'm seeing as far as class usage possibilities.

I was hoping there would atleast be something more ingame for your clan. like some sort of guild area that you can decorate with custom banners and stuff and where only clan members stream in to make it easier to team up and start on a raid or strike. Maybe even a way to trade weapons within the clan. I actually want to give a buddy the chance to try out or have a new rare weapon I might have gotten but don't need. feels shit to turn it into glimmer without being able to just give it to people.

So I have to say with a couple of the missions down me on Xbone it's not bad on there. The only thing that does bother me on it is the shoulder buttons really suck for using the melee and super. They just don't feel comfortable. Then the sticks of course seem looser. Course that's not Bungie's fault. They didn't make the controller. Microsoft did.

Now keep in mind I'm no graphics whore but if ti weren't for the increase in jaggies and shadows not being as prominent, I'd not really know the difference between the two versions. Maybe grass and things are a big less dynamic maybe. I can't really say. Bungie did pretty damn good job on the xbone version without a doubt. Can't wait to see what it looks like at 1080p. I do think that no matter what version you play you're going to get a great game.

I'd argue the sound design in Wolfenstein is bloody great, it's the mixing which is an issue. Each individual aspect of it is excellent. The guns sound amazing, the voice acting is very good and the music is brilliant and really helps with the atmosphere. It just doesn't work very well when you're hearing them all at once.

Regarding Destiny's sound design. It's not bad by any means, it's just not amazing. The music sounds great, but only occasionally seems to fit what's actually going on in the game. The weapons sound okay, but seem to verge a bit too far on the "pew pew pew" side. The voice acting is all over the place, sometimes okay, sometimes awful.

Has anyone noticed that your Focus has a Rarity rank and counts as a gear slot on the App? Maybe we'll be able to find other subclasses out in the wild? :o

Yeah, they surely will iron the kinks regarding such a huge thing that is the app.

I tried some crucible again and my results were mixed, I need to add more friends from the clan, for sure. Running pugs just doesn't go well for me.

I was getting wrecked with auto rifle then I switched to sniper and I popped off 3 quick kills right near the end of the match, though, so there's that lol

Like all other shooters?

Like most shooters, yes I suppose. However Destiny doesn't seem to have all that much else going for it in the PvP.

Titanfall has extremely fast traversal and giant mechs, Battlefield has huge maps with tanks and planes and large scale destruction, Halo has actually satisfying kills because a lot more skill is required to beat someone in a fight.

Destiny has traversal which you can't use mid fight and supers which are guaranteed kills. It's too basic and relies pretty much entirely on killing people to make the PvP interesting. But (for me at least) the basic shooting is unsatisfying and as such, boring.

Yeah, maybe sound design wasn't the right thing to say. But it does sound like a complete mess. Had to run through the game with subtitles on out of virtue that certain voices (especially BJ's internal monologues) either sounded like a garbled mess or were caught up and swept away by all other sounds. It was better during cutscenes, but still not great.

And I don't know, I think the music in Destiny fits fine, or at least has for me. The music kicking in swelling when enemy waves start increasing in the laser section of the Strike mission certainly added a lot to the moment, for example. Stuff like how certain guns 'crackle' when shot in wide open spaces or echo in tight closed spaces is great too. I've also found a lot of loot crates and spinmetal thanks to smart little audio cues.

^^^Yup...

The guns all sound underwhelming. They lack "oomph" and variety. Shooting the heavy machine gun doesn't feel satisfying in my opinion.

So far seems like the Halo RPG that could have been.

I worry about the MMO elements (no matter what is said, this game will heavily lean towards community based play). I could easily see this being the first post-WoW successful MMO and I'm not sure I really need that in my life.

Just spent 2+ hours with a guy doing the Devil's Lair mission. There was another guy but he gave up. Me and jglegend or something fought off the waves for 1hour and another hour killing the goddamn leg tank thing and then finally a 30min+ fighting off the floating purple orb. An annoying but satisfying experience.

I need to buy this game.

Rather than spending more time on my warlock I decided I'd see what the other classes have to offer before the beta concludes. Getting into this titan, and I think I may enjoy it more than warlock. The increased survivability may suit my play style more. Ad if I'm being honest, I really like how the titan melee is just rocking fools in their face. I caught myself leaning into a few, saying "raaa you fucker!" in my head.

I think I'll take this one to lvl 8 and then see what the hunter is all about. Man I want the full game now. Gimme! stephen_colbert_giveme.gif
Warlock has the best melee range. They kind of need it though.

Oh I agree it can sound rubbish on Wolfenstein, I have no idea how they screwed up the mixing so badly. The cutscenes are really good though IMO.

Destiny can sound very good. I really like hearing firefights in the distance and how they echo around you. The guns when in an actual fight don't seem to sound as good to me though :l

The music, when it does fit what's going on is excellent. However I've had quite a few times when I've had heavy beats and very uptempo music when I'm just walking around which then dies down to nothing when I encounter some enemies. It is beta though and this is something that could probably easily be fixed. Could well be a bug.

HC + FR is a combo for skilled users in PVP.

Definitely takes finesse to use.

Takes all the fineesse in the world for me to overcome the narrow FoV and DS3. ;_;

Can't add learning a harder to use weapon on top, used to pc FoV and m&kb.

Auto rifle scrub for now. Apologies.

That's what I rock my man.

It's funny, when I use HC in PVP give it 3 minutes of them dying by it and you'll see at least two people try and join in on using it. It's not as shit as some might think. Just have to be smart about where you are and who you engage.

Oh and accurate, obviously. I enjoy using HC's immensely now.
