I've been a big Genesis fan ever since the release of their 1980 album, Duke. Before that, I really didn't understand any of their work. Too artsy, too intellectual. It was on Duke where Phil Collins' presence became more apparent. I think Invisible Touch was the group's undisputed masterpiece. It's an epic meditation on intangibility. At the same time, it deepens and enriches the meaning of the preceding three albums. Listen to the brilliant ensemble playing of Banks, Collins and Rutherford. You can practically hear every nuance of every instrument. In terms of lyrical craftsmanship, the sheer songwriting, this album hits a new peak of professionalism. Take the lyrics to Land of Confusion. In this song, Phil Collins addresses the problems of abusive political authority. In Too Deep is the most moving pop song of the 1980s, about monogamy and commitment. The song is extremely uplifting. Their lyrics are as positive and affirmative as anything I've heard in rock. Phil Collins' solo career seems to be more commercial and therefore more satisfying, in a narrower way. Especially songs like In the Air Tonight and Against All Odds. But I also think Phil Collins works best within the confines of the group, than as a solo artist, and I stress the word artist. This is Sussudio, a great, great song, a personal favorite.

Thanks for the post :) I only knew of him from the drum song lol.

My girlfriend got hit on by Gary Busey at a bar one time. He eventually pulled the "Do you know who I am?" at some point to which she replied "No" which apparently annoyed him and he disgruntledly walked away without saying anything else. She honestly didn't know who he was until someone else pointed it out to her after he left. She just thought he was an old creepy weird dude.

You're a shitty boyfriend for never watching Point Break with her

My cousin dated Brian Westbrook (Eagles) for a while. My mother almost dated Ronald Reagan's son back when she was young. (Or maybe it was JFK Jr, can't remember)

In 2011 at MegaCon, Mira Furlan told me I had a great voice. I think we really had something, but then she wanted money for an autograph so I just told her she was great in Babylon 5 and rolled.

Have a feeling a new thread will be started about which celebrities hit on you/you're significant other soon, I can feel it.

EDIT: Maybe this thread will just morph into that.

Is that... Huey Lewis doing a parody of American Psycho? Amazing!

And that's why I hate musicians.

My GF is working as a receptionist in an hotel where a lot of musicians come and go.
Almost all of them try to seduce her.

I hate it..

Try being with a bartender. She will get hit on all night, every night, without exception. Though my partner bartends at a country club frequented by a lot of old rich guys so I don't think I have much competition - that said it doesn't stop them from trying to win themselves a trophy wife. It's just something you have to get used to.

Sway took my wife (then girlfriend) out for drinks when she was an MTV intern because he "takes out the interns for drinks to be friendly" (dude's nearly double her age), gets a buzz going, drops her off at her apartment, then proceeds to lean and make his move. She runs inside scared, he fires off a couple lame ass apology texts about how "he was inappropriate" and "didn't mean anything by it".

Fuck Sway.

Being a c list celebrity that tries to fuck every girl you see seems exhausting. Guys like huey Lewis and Gary busey have to have a sub 10 percent success rate.

From the way they act when rejected tho you'd think they sleep with every girl they ask

Okay, there's a 'Huey Lewis News' twitter account. It's official- looks like it's run by one of Huey's entourage. It's not Huey himself posting on it, but I feel like maybe I should start hitting it up via twitter....

So my GF is in Baltimore on a business trip, some association of trial lawyers.

Huey Lewis and the News were booked to perform at their party last night, and Huey met my GF. He was into her, and supposedly kept 'hitting' on her during the show...haven't really found out exactly what that entailed.

After the show they're hanging out in the hotel lobby, Huey wants to pose for a pic with my GF. She takes a pic with him, and then he tries to get her to come up to his hotel room. She declines, reminding him that she has a husband (we're not married but we live together) and he freaks out. Has a tantrum in the lobby in front of EVERYONE who was at the show. He then gets in the elevator, and according to a friend of my GF's who was in the elevator with him, he was swearing and kicking the elevator the whole ride to his floor.

So yeah, that's what happened. My girlfriend is equal parts disgusted and amused. Thought I'd share cuz why the hell not?

Feel free to share your own dubious celebrity encounters or just make Huey Lewis jokes.

Can we see the picture?

lmao
sorry, I just find the idea of Sway being a creeper funny

Did Sway try to get her fired afterward or did she leave because of that incident? I'd imagine working with or near each other would be awkward.

Oh yeah also my aunt a long time go rented an apartment to Allen Iverson and his mother back when he had just gotten signed with the nba, at the time they were struggling financially. She said that his mother was an asshole tenant getting to arguments all the time and he was the most arrogant kid she had ever met.

So she did know exactly who he was.

When I shared the incident with friends, the first response was always "Sway? Dude with dreads on MTV News with the hip hop radio show? That Sway? No way he's chill." LIES. ALL LIES.

Her internship was almost over, so no idea what came of it. After getting inside, she proceeded to laugh about it and be all proud a D-lister was onto her, just to get a rise out of me.

For real, at the bar white dudes flocked to him, and some complimented him on "his girl", to which he said "nah it's not like that", but she told me that was before he got his drink on. I doubt he had ill intentions to start, but get the liquor flowin' and who knows.

LOL. When that happened, three buddies sent me the link to the video with the same "yo fuck Sway" line.

Years ago at uni a girlfriend of mine was working for the student union radio station and got free tickets and backstage passes to the Steve-O tour to interview him. She got me on the list as the photographer. After the show we went to the backstage area and showed our passes and Steve told the bouncer ‘she can come back, not him’. He was acting slimy and smug and hitting on her. She turned the recorder on, held the mic to him and said ‘Steve, why are you such a dick?’
He didn’t answer.

When I was a teenager I went to see No Use For A Name in Birmingham. During the show I tried hitting on a girl at the bar. I was right in the middle of being charming when Matt Riddle (the bassist) dedicates a song to his sister who had flown out to see him and points my way. Most of the audience turned my way in time to see the girl ignore me mid sentence and wave to him on stage.

I don't have the pic, GF is still outta town. I'm not even sure if it was Huey or her that requested the photo, could be on HIS phone.

From the sounds of it, HL was calling out my GF during his live show, his idea of foreplay I guess.

Bro I think your girlfriend just went to a Huey Lewis concert and paid for the meet and greet after.
