Microsoft Gamescom teaser - August 12 Xbox briefing

Are there birds and bears in the teaser? Because Microsoft needs to announce Banjo-Threeie!

Or a pinata shaped like a bird or a bear. Either would work.

But who are we kidding here, really?

I'm not hyped for QB at all - think it will just be another shooter. Hope to be proven wrong.

Intrigued by it, but yeah, if it's just Max Payne/Alan Wake with a future skin, I'm going to be pretty disappointed.

Remedy are the Naughty Dogs of MS to me. They make the system sellers.

Can't wait to see this thing in action. it's the game I'm most excited to see at Gamescom. Another is Scalebound so I'm kind of hoping it's among their possible surprises, but it wouldn't surprise me if we don't see anything till about next year. Although, Kamiya did say that we should be expecting something soon in magazines, so I wonder if that means we may also see something at Gamescom.

I personally think Remedy has made the better games overall for my tastes, but both are incredible studios that do awesome work.

Lol I didn't mean to spark these reactions. It's just when I was considering both systems it went something like this:

"Well Sony has Naughty Dog, I have to buy a PS4. Well MS has Remedy, I have to buy a XB1 too."

They're just both my favorite exclusive studios from both camps.

Cant watch the teaser here. But Im also expecting some Quantum Break gameplay!

Also... Is there any chance for a trailer with a ingame scene of Scale Bound and / or Phantom Dust?

Edit: Lol, just saw that tweet!

I would shit my pants if they were gonna show phantom dust but I bet its way too early.

Can't wait for Quantum Break, but I have a gut feeling it will get delayed until holidays 2016, just like Alan Wake was delayed again and again. Remedy is good studio, but too small IMO.

I don't know, I remember a huge thread about it and multiple mentions. Phil Spencer kept talking about a ton of new games and whatnot. Maybe they moved it over to GC
Phantom Dust
Crackdown
Scalebound
Ori
Halo MCC

These were all new games confirmed at e3. I wouldn't expect they have any new games to announce till e3 2015 honestly.

Pretty sure people got the wrong message as I'm sure the big 3rd party exclusive was a trailer and not a game...

I think the third party exclusive game hinted by Gamespot in that really long thread ended up being Scalebound.

Of course they will, there's a ton of games we don't know about. How many we see at Gamescom I'm not sure, but I'm hoping for a few.

Just curious, what are the games we don't know about? I could see there being a couple small reveals but I don't expect any big reveals of AAA games. Which is totally fine. What I expect is:
- A couple reveals of small games
- Gameplay and info for previously announced games

I have no idea, I don't work for Microsoft, but it would be stupid to think that there's absolutely nothing in development that we don't know about yet. I'm not expecting a huge Halo/Gears size announcement either, but I do think we'll see a fairly big game announced along with a few smaller titles like you say.

I bet we see Halo 5 at Gamescom. Not a lot, just a little tease thrown on the end of the MCC section of the press conference, but it'll be there...

I hope.

Well. Quantum Break will be a make or break it scenario. After the long long long incubation for Alan Wake and it's fairly tepid sales and reception they NEED QB to succeed or the likely won't be given a third chance.

Whatever Gamespot were hyping just prior to E3? Pretty sure that was the DR3 DLC...

All of those make sense but I thought it was supposed to be some big third party exclusive. Scalebound is first party, no? It's being funded fully by MS.

Crackdown

Ori
Halo MCC

I'll get excited over the CGI trio when we actually have something to go by or at least some timeframe (they be years away for all we know, and what is MS going to show next year? CGI trailers for 2017 games?).

To be fair, you did say: "there's a ton of games we don't know about". So I assumed you might have some insight on studios that are expected to announce a new game soon. If not, then that's a pretty bold statement to make. Sure, there's quite possibly a few other big games to announce eventually. Not so sure it will be this soon after E3. MS also seems to have revealed what more of their studios are up to than Sony has with their studios. That's why I expect more announcements out of Sony. But I admittedly don't know all of MS' studios so I was curious if you had any insight on what studios might have big game announcements on the horizon.

Halo 5 over a year(possibly more) away from release? Didn't h4 only get gameplay the e3 the same year of it's release? Man I would love to see it but I seriously doubt it.

We will be playing Halo 5 in 5 months time, it's certainly not out of the question.

Scalebound is being developed by Platinum Games, so it isn't first party. If it's being funded by Microsoft, I guess you could call it second party? But since it's developed by a third party, I'd personally consider it eligible as the game that GameSpot was referring to.

"We" meaning myself, and you.

I don't think it's a bold statement to make at all, sure we might not get them at Gamescom, but I'm pretty sure that Microsoft won't go a whole year without announcing a big game.
