Zelda. The Covenant covers a nontrivial part of the Milky Way Galaxy, has access to superfast FTL travel, and has swarms of enormous space ships that can devastate planets fairly easily. Most of its equipment, including elite soldiers, utilize some kind of shielding that seem to work fairly well at deflecting traditional ballistic weapons. Their main weakness is that they're a bit dumb and nothing we see in Halo games seems to indicate they're all that effective at conventional warfare beyond "bomb everything from Orbit". Like their ground vehicles are a bit shitty, honestly.
The Helghast were at their peak the owners of like, 1 planet. Even if they achieved a remarkable 20:1 kill to death ratio in space battles, they would still lose control of their orbital space. And I repeat, they do not have shields, and none of the weapons we've seen them use seem to put them in the same league as what goes on in Haloverse. I'm not even sure if they have FTL drives, although I am not an expert on KZ lore. They would then initiate orbital bombardment and destroy all large military formations on the planet. This is based on the generous assumption that they want most of the planet "in tact" for some reason. Because otherwise they would just burn the whole planet in less than 24 hours with giant space death rays.
The covenant stomp them. This is not a reflection of which series is "better" or anything, they just aren't on the same scale. The Covenant in turn get roflstomped by the Galactic Empire of Star Wars, who get stomped by any number of species in the Culture series. I think there's some high end Xeelee saga shit too, and the Time Lords from Dr Who win most things because lol time travel.

The Helghast do have shielding.... We see it in KZ3... Plus with Stahl's involvement they went from spaceship shielding to even soldier shielding later on in Killzone ShadowFall
(Heck there is even wall shielding via devices and the OWL)
Also the Petrusite bomb is planetary devastation
the Culture series.
Shielding was in it prototype stage in KZ2 so we didn't see it in actionDo they have any shielding in Killzone 2? I don't remember seeing anything on tanks, vehicles etc. I did play it a long time ago. At any rate, if you want to pit the Hellghast circa KZ:SF against them, the odds are actually worse regardless of new shielding tech they might be using, because they have even less territory, population and soldiers than they used to.

The Helghast still have a large base in Helghan in the SF timeline.... lots of drone weapons to boot
From air drones to animal like drones to insect drones
Plus they have these bad boys.... which is similar to the Covenant walker in Halo 2... but bigger

they can live in harsh conditions if they please
Edit: The Helghast also have cloaking and teleporting
I'm not sure if that's going to help them; large, ship-based covenant plasma weapons are equivalent to nuclear strikes. If they can't control orbit, they can't hold off the invasion. And I feel like I must remind you that the Covenant is orders of magnitude larger than the Hellghast. While those large walkers are indeed impressive looking, the largest covenant warships are 30 kilometers long by 11 kilometers wide. The Covenant's industrial base is enormous simply because they span a galaxy! This isn't a fair fight.
palpatine has lightning attacks too can he be helgan
oh and pikachu
The Covenant invades Helgan
In all fairness, there are several races in the Covenant empire, not only the little suckers lol![]()
Space muppets that yell like chipmunks when they get stepped on.
This is what would happen

The current Helghast have a weapon that would easily make all those ships lose their ability to fly and crash down to the ground
still the Covenant has the numbers
Love you.
Eveyone needs to read Ian M Banks' Culture novels.
Covenant gets beat by one mediocre soldier in power armor. They are chumps.
They can do it from orbit too.
