I love these! Wish I could capture faces and people the way you are able to, keep it up!very frustrated with my art
For now, I've been drawing on college ruled paper. I was either gonna upgrade to a binder full of printer paper or an Intuos tablet. Do you guys think this one is too small for someone who seriously wants to get into art?

don't like how this turned out at all but I'll post it anyway
Yeah, I went ahead and bought the Huion H610 Pro. That thing has everything the Intuos Pro Medium has except for tilt (I'm not trying to paint here) and touch support (which I won't even need because of hotkeys). All for less than $100 and it's not some type of bargain-tier, broken ass hardware from China according to Amazon reviews and this guy who wrote a pretty detailed review: http://frenden.com/post/87110791272/huion-h610-pro-h610-k58-graphics-tablet-review.
sketch dailies topic.

Is this color pallet cool?
Man, this is so good. The only thing I can really critique is that the leaves on the trees feel a bit flat since they're only one colour and have not detailing to show how light is hitting them or going through them. Don't really know if changing them would be for the best though... it might pull focus from the tiger and the rider.
Really nice work.
doodled some dandies
Do you have examples like a quick sketch where it looks messed up to you? I uploaded a quick sketch of what it might look like to look straight down someone's nose.So I'm going through Loomis's Fun With a Pencil where he talks about visualizing the face in basic shapes. He starts off with a bunch of a spheres and then says you should add lines to represent the axis. Problem is I'm having a hard time visualizing the middle line and "ear line" on my own spheres (specifically when drawing spheres that are titled on an angle.)
I'm going to go to the 100 yen store and pick up a ball and then just draw the lines on it so I have something to look at while I'm trying to put my own faces together. I took a break from doing the stuff in the book and tried to apply the lesson to a Persona character and it wasn't bad. I'm going to keep going through the book since it's fun and seems like a decent place to start;d
Any other advice for visualizing spheres / axis lines or is it just something that comes with practice?
First pose was super easy neutral, then come top down view.. harder, but somewhat intuitive.. then the last pose with the two ladies killed me because this weirdly top view 3/4 angle but actually from the side is really hard and confusing + foreshortening and what is even happening gah.

After several months without conceptualizing characters for a comic, I started something last week. Still rough; especially the bottom most face so I plan coming back to it to flesh it out. Maybe I might use this character, maybe not.

Did this one earlier. It was of two minds. To the left you have a slightly stylized mini portrait of my friend which I used an image for reference as well as the rough sketch of a female friend who I was trying to draw from memory; to the right is a rough reference image of a woman posing on a boat that I got super into for some odd reason. I think I'm going to delete it entirely and continue drawing more faces of friends for fun as I like the way it came out.

more dandy doodles during last night's episode.
Was that actually water coloured or is it clever Photoshop trickery? That looks great!
I really want to get back into digital painting. My old Grapphire4 is done though. Should I splurge on an Intuos, do you think? I'd probably go for the medium-sized one since Amazon tends to have decent deals on it, from time to time.
Oh YEAH, final colors:
And Nightrider, coloring is no fun for me at all. I only do it because I need to get better until I find an eternal life coloring partner to handle this for me, hah.
Lazy Sunday drawing.
I have like, 3 things going on at once.
All CGing!
There's been a watercolour tutorial for Paint Tool SAI going around the last few days:

The person who coloured my image used the tutorial for the first time to good effect!
I saw your thing on tumblr before talking about doing collab work. I have this sketch of a KunQu opera actress that I might be able to finish up soon, and probably wont have time to colour it myself, so naturally I thought of you, since I like your colour combinations. Still have time to give it a go?
Yeah, coloring sounds fun. I'm down. I like collabs, it's a change of pace from my typical stuff.
I think this took about 3 hours. Urgh. lol
Ah awesome, I'll try and get it done soon. I'm interested to see what colours you apply to it. I'll hit you up when its finished.
Korra doodle, wanted to draw some funky looking pants
Just a quick thing. Anyone got a good swatch set for skin tones? Would sure love good ones (cough cough C.B. got skin tones like a boss and I'm jelly cough cough).![]()
