Keep calling those who put their lives on the line every day cowards because of the unforgivable actions of a few. As a former employee of a mayor of A major city, I know a lot of police officers of all races. Your perspective is skewed.

2 of my aunts and my uncle are cops. You don't know me so don't go there.

I'm sure non-violent protestors will have no problem dealing with this.

That used to be the case but lately misinformation is fine as long as it falls on the side most of the mods agree with.

Shots fired!

Also, I think we can all agree that many police officers bravely risk life and limb in their effort to at least attempt to protect and serve while also understanding that it's not crazy that minorities and/or people in high crime areas may not always have the best relationship with the police.

I get the idea they don't want anyone on the street period. Is there a curfew going on to try and stop the looting? Or are they just going block to block?

Did you just compare your career choice to skin color?! You realize they are not remotely the same thing right?
Yes, as you cannot - with any form of reasonableness - generalize the entirety of law enforcement as corrupt/evil or "out to impose martial law" just as you cannot reasonablely argue or stereotype all African Americans will respond like so in St. Louis. Even at the micro level, agencies are incredibly different on the west coast compared to the east coast.

Well that's definitely an accurate title change.

I don't think you quite understand that nobody literally thinks every single police officer is evil.

could you imagine a scenario where anyone tries to protest anything against our current police forces? the current police are so militarized in training and in weaponry that i really fear for a day when American's actually have to go head to head with this type of out of control law enforcement. thats exactly why i have no problems with the average citizen owning assault rifles and similar weaponry.

Let's say you've been working out. You've been kicking ass and getting hella fit. You're sleek, you're slim, you're sexy. And you're fucking thirsty. Like for reals. So I roll up with a big ole glass of water for you, cause why wouldn't I? Right before you drink it though, I tell you I peed in it a little bit. Not a whole lot, I mean most of the water's good. Just got a little bit of my pee in it. Still wanna drink it?

Rewind. Right before you drink it, I tell you I put a little poison in it. There's a chance it mike kill you, but it probably won't. I mean most of the water's good, just might kill you. Still wanna drink it?

Of course not. So stop throwing that #NotAllCops bullshit in my face.

That seems excessive.

it isn't.

the being left to rot is a emotive reaction and not based on anything concrete. the body would have been there for that long irrespective of the circumstances or race of the victim.

it takes time and they are unusually careful to document the whole scene. the body, its position, etc all absolutely vital in the evidentiary process.

Thank you for your service. A lot of misplaced hate around here.
Thank you. The amount of defensiveness, lack of civility and bitterness is rather odd to see. Perhaps I'm too used to reading gaming news and thus it's easier to roll eyes at the ones who become emotionally involved.

At the end of the day, two families have been forever changed - both for the very worst. Businesses have been unduly targeted and millions of dollars and resources will be spend needlessly which could have been used to help others elsewhere.

Well, given that the phrase "at the end of the day" usually prefaces a net total result of a set of events, I'd say you have a lot of important things missing from your summary.

I really wish the people of this country could join together and stop these armed gang members from being on our streets and replace them with an actual competent police system. I hope it happens in my lifetime.

Hey. I reread the post I mistakenly thought you called cops cowards. You didn't and I apologize. I actually agree with more of what you say than I expected. Again, its late, I misread your post and I apologize.

Not saying whatever they do tonight is right, but after last night what did people expect? There was pretty much zero chance they were going to let looting happen again tonight.

That's kind of a stretch.
While it's far from the safest work, even delivery drivers are more likely to die on the job.
Fishermen are in eight times more danger. I've never heard anyone thank them for their bravery.

Hey I know where I've seen this, it was on some feminist tumblr about how you should stereotype all men because some of them are bad. It was a monumentally stupid analogy then and it's a monumentally stupid analogy now.
