Well good news is we have 1 month and then we will be watching all the news come in from japan. Shouldn't take more than what 1-3 days before everyone is unlocked? Unless someone can get into the game files and see them right away.
Probably a day at most. Unless there's a weird timed unlock like Mewtwo. Assuming they all don't just leak beforehand.

I think the roster might leak beforehand, but we might have to wait 8+ hours until there's screenshots/footage of everyone. I remember not seeing toon link until the night brawl came out in japan, IIRC.
Man, Mewtwo's unlock method was pretty odd.
I think Wolf was the last one I saw, I didn't believe it when I first read it.

Well what about ya know not knowing how to unlock everyone. Sometimes if its play x games, or win this way or that way and theres nothing indicating it how else woulld we find out.
Edit: If there is an official Guide on day one I assume it will have unlocks and character details yes? If so we should probably expect that to leak early then? Is there any president for this?
At least it guarantees no one will unlock him right away, if that's something you want.
The worst thing would be to tie an unlock to global smash power, which would literally make unlocks impossible for some people. I hope no trophies or anything in the game require global smash power to unlock.

Yeah, those were crazy times. I remember sitting at home after school and refreshing the page every 30 seconds; the craziest part it there was almost always a new piece of info.

Take a break from Smash Thread, and enjoy the movie. You wouldn't able to have time to look at threads because the movie itself is pretty fast with the pace.
I immediately knew who they were talking about since people predicted ROB to be THE subspace emissary (the picture w/ the rob outline under the hood). Might have been a gaf thread that was linked on gonintendo. All of my gaf info came from gonintendo reposting gaf posts

Los Angeles. The PotD usually updates anywhere from 11pm-12:30am, though with this week's updates being weirdly earlier it's been more like 10:15-10:30pm.

Right now it's 10:54 PM Tue Aug 12, which makes it 11:54 AM Wednesday, August 13, 2014 (JST)
13 hour time difference, they're 13 hours ahead. It used to be like 3-4 AM EDT, right? Which was like 4-5pm for them, or, as I assume, closing time.

Nintendo doesn't usually announce that they've begun printing. But pictures usually leak.

Yes it is, especially in Japan. It comes out in four weeks there. If they're going to meet the street date with any sort of real stock they must be ready to print. I think games usually start printing three weeks before release, if not earlier. So it can't be long now.
