Super Smash Bros. for 3DS & Wii U Thread 12: Gwah, hah. Welcome to the Bowser's game.

I actually much prefer the Tellius designs. They look much more like practical armor rather than animu overdesigned crap like Awakening's. :p
*ducks and runs away*

Pre-Order bonus: Gameboy cartridge with Metroid but you play as Ridley instead of Samus. Please understand we weren't able to put Ridley into Smash because he is so big. But we were able to fit him on a gameboy-cartridge.

Random selection of a backdrop when the stage begins.

exciting
I think it'd be cool if it shuttled between the different rooms, new layouts popped up, and every now and then an Elite Four member sends out a stage hazard Pokémon, I.E. Aegislash, Talonflame, Noivern, Barbaracle, etc. :-)

This thread now more than ever.

Craziest thing about this? Ganondorf was played by Matthew Mercer, who was also the director of the series and voiced Kirby and Meta Knight. Since then he's become a pretty big-time professional voice actor... including the English voice of Chrom! So that trailer cameo is sort of a full circle thing for him in a way.

Such a cool series, I should give it a rewatch sometime...

wow! I should watch there will be brawl again

Well given the fact that the Fire Emblem series is entirely based on using units (both your own and allied ones) to fight enemy units, and you are seeing these colors whenever you actually y'know, play the game (except for PoR/RD), I think that dismissing them as "so generic to not count as references to games" is unfair. They are obviously clear references to the source material. That's what we were talking about, after all. And the red/green alts are as much of references to the source material as having Ike have a similar color to Greil's (even if not identical), or Marth having an alt that references the official art from one of the games, or Captain Falcon having one that references Jody Summers.

They can definitely be taken as references, but what I meant with them counting as 'new', was that they weren't a reference to a specific design, and thus a lot more could be done using a generic unit as a base. Instead of just washing the standard outfit in red or green, a much more interesting palette swap could have been created by altering the hue of the sword, hair, eyes and skin along with the base outfit, perhaps adding some minor pattern to the cape as with Little Mac or Mario's striped SSB4 alts. I just want the colour options to be more visually interesting as a whole, I guess.

Oh for sure, but

>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

okay for me i dont think thats a fair comparison at all since ones an artist using what they had to work with but i can see where people are coming from lol

Yes, but across the board the Tellius designs are more practical (see Jill vs Cherche, Marcia/Tanith/Sigrun vs Sumia/Cordelia, etc.)

o im not saying that the tellius designs are less practical my point was that they both have it lol

Except it's yet another example of you guys forgetting that it's only the western fanbase with a stiffy for Ridley. What are the Japanese getting? Gaius lollies?
lol, "stiffy for Ridley,"

Seriously, though, the Japanese don't like space dragons?

No wonder the west is getting ahead!

I mean it's not like America is a massive market and so putting in a few characters to cater to them would be a smart idea sales wise.

It's not even fair to say that Ridley would cater to "America" -- his inclusion isn't going to drive sales in any region.

*meanwhile, in his Palace of Ice on the Dark Side of the Moon, Sakurai stops mashing potatoes for a moment and strokes his chin thoughtfully*

"Sakur-cat... Am I forgetting something? Don't I usually do something on my computer right around now?"

*Sakur-cat is too busy being cute squeezing into a basket. Sakurai sighs, and goes back to mashing potatoes*

What about Ridley, but as a 10000 year old space dragon who takes on the form of a 7 year old girl?

No need for that, we have plenty of comparisons from the actual characters.

edit: well I guess, but the most fanservice in that form is like...Lethe and Lyre vs Tharja

But that (horrendous) Micahiah art in awakening is not even by the main artist in awakening so

lol i can see where people have problems with the design (the sterotypical anime designs large sparkly eyes, moe blob ness) but honestly i dont mind it its definitely weaker than the rest of em though lol

yeah i went and checked a few characters from the tellius saga and they definitely have more armor on lol i think mist could count as well

Man this plot is just writing itself in that case. let's all root for the poor dragon-loli that's got a PO'ed ex-military after her for some mistakes being made.

I'd watch this trainwreck
