I asked a clear question. What is all the misinformation in this thread that you are talking about? Really sorry about being rude but there has been a lot of ignorant statements made. But if you could clear up any misinformation that has been spread people would be glad for that information.

I believe I commented on a few things in my posts. Overall, there's a fair misrepresentation of the reality on the ground here.

A. Ferguson residents are mostly peaceful. The arrests have been of people from outside the area with criminal records.

B. The rioters and looters are mostly opportunistic criminals.

C. I've personally seen the police exhibit far more patience and tact than otherwise.

D. The media, social included, tends to be over sensationalist about things. You see cropped pictures and a couple of bad scenes made out to be a city under siege by a local military.

All that said, fuck the police. Fuck what happened to Mike. And it's time to rise up and demand answers.

But people are making the situation worse, and out to be something else entirely with all the bullshit floating around.

It's unreal that we're even at a point where a large portion of our population has to actually worry about "hospitalization, incarceration, or death" due to a chance encounter with an authority figure with zero accountability.
Events like this that keep occurring, eventually something has to give, right?

Full disclosure, I'm a white male living in the south.

Thanks and sorry again for my earlier post! That video I watched earlier still has me pretty upset. I believe, I can't speak for everybody, that most people pretty much knew or had a very good idea about the first two points. D is pretty much true with any event but there is a lot of true in it also.

As for point C though, there has been a lot of eyewitness statements and video evidence that shows that it's not entirely true. The police have very much instigated a lot of violence.

I don't think any change will happen anytime soon either but if people just sit by and keep letting stuff like this happen then it will take a hell of a lot longer.

Protests may be banned, but at least the WBC can heckle people grieving at a funeral. That is true freedom.

Well that sounds believable.

And FWIW that post of mine you were referring to last page was in the context of the poster I was responding to, wording their response to make it seem like all the protesters were getting angsty.

Including, of course, the peaceful ones (who make up the bulk of them). That's why I said what I said, not to say there aren't criminals and opportunists in there in some (marginal) capacity.

I just saw on one of the local news up there that none of the looters arrested where from Ferguson, so yeah.

It's like I've always said: it's divide-and-conquer. They profit from this. The citizens there recording on their phones are instantly more credible than the media.

It's all about how would the media choose to represent you if you were shot dead by a cop under questionable (for the cop) circumstances. Specifically, how does the media choose to represent african americans. Here are two articles among many with pictures to really get the idea across:

A person's yard is a person's property. Once a person is on their property then they can do what they want. The police has no rights to enter your property unless they have permission or a permit to do so. Unfortunately, youtube has proven that the police don't care about this and just want a person out of sight, even if the police entered that person's house let alone their yard. I.e. they ignore people's rights.
 
Is it true internet and TV service were cut in the area? Why was that done? Also, I thought the no-fly zone part of the thread title was joke. That seems unbelievable. What the hell could be going on there? So many questions.

There have been outages in the area.

Some have claimed "off the record" that it was done intentionally because of the rioting.

Looks like years of abuse are finally starting to catch up to the police. FBI or whoever needs to come and start arresting the cops involved and higher level police people who have been allowing people to get away with their bs.

FBI is investigating, but FBI cases take a long time for resolution simply because of the scope they take on.

Yeah that's a little hard to believe at this point, but I can see it happening if their names did get released. People are going crazy out there.
