The name Pokémon and all Pokémon Creature names are singular and plural. "A bunch of Pikachu." "A Pikachu jumped." "I caught a Pokémon." "I caught all of the Pokémon."

Don't know why that annoyed me in the podcast so much, but I just heard it.

@fadegaf hmm, not sure. We had that weird, hacked video-over-usb vita which worked on some stuff. They could also be using publisher assets.

@fadegaf possible they have a dev kit, with hdmi out. We don't really have a great, reliable solution, unfortunately.

So, video over USB and sounds like it didn't work a lot of the time. That sounds awful.

The fucking Resident Evil REmake rant... I WANT this game because I'm refuse to play in 480p, and I don't think Dolphin works 100% right with it (not sure). Like the others, I never played this game. Having it on a modern console in HD? Hell yeah! This is for me, clearly; someone who wants to play it without so much blur.

I could find you someone playing Sonic 06 like a master without ever crashing in an obstacle.

This doesn't disprove Tomb Raider having shitty controls.

This does, though.

i just googled "vita devkit video out"
http://www.assemblergames.com/forum...lopment-Unit-(DevKit)-Mini-Photo-Video-Review

hdmi port at 330 in this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UyIdFemnIWg&feature=youtu.be

that says it has an hdmi and costs 1700
someone needs to go rub Adam Boyes tummy

edit: so they do know about the devkit? they just don't have one?

You guys, I decided to let my WWE network subscription expire and am re-subbing to Crunchyroll in its place. (Please forgive me, Dan)

My question to you is, does that make me more or less of a dork? Lateral move?

Crunchyroll is way cooler than WWE Network.

Lateral, just a different kind of dork.

It depends. Will you start saying "baka" and bringing anime into your everyday life? If so, you have dove into a dorky darkness from which there is no return.

Jeff has mentioned the dev kit a number of times when talking about the Vita stuff, so they've known about that stuff since day 1. But they don't have one, no. I'm sure Jeff has tried to get one since he even spent around $300 of his own money to get a modded Vita from Japan (it didn't work out, he never got consistent good quality video from it). It's pretty fucked that Sony made it this hard to capture footage from that thing.

note I said "re-subscribe." I think I'm already operating at the peak amount of otaku my psyche could even handle.

also I'll probably watch more dramas than anime because apparently I'm a crazy person :\

Same amount of dork.

You're dorkier for not having both though...

It is $1700 if Sony agrees to sell you one. They are not devs. You have to imagine Jeff has at least mentioned it to Boyes. Could just be that Sony Japan controls the hardware and they say no press.

IGN might have got footage from the devs or been able to borrow from a dev. You have to imagine that if IGN did have a direct capture kit then the other sites would demand one too. Also some people seem to have better luck with their bootleg hacked vitas than Jeff did.

And I can't imagine how you can justify that cost. The Vita is mainly indie games that has been/is going to be released on Steam and/or the PS4, and you can show those versions. Would maybe be cool to see how it runs on a Vita, but if you have to pay that much money to do so? Nah, if Sony don't want people to record direct footage from their handheld device, it's not really worth it.

To be fair that cost will include a load of licences etc that are no use to press. I think if GB could buy one they would. Small cost in comparison to some of their studio kit.

I really don't get the appeal of Surgeon Simulator. It's gross, frustrating, and boring all at the same time at least from what I've seen. I'm not a big fan of QWOP-style gameplay, but this seems even worse. I couldn't even make it halfway through that Quick Look even with Drew who's probably my favorite part of the crew.

Edit: What is Crunchyroll? I'd google it but I have a feeling I might regret it.

But they actually get some use out of their studio kit.

I
mostly
kid. For as much as Jeff has been talking about this since the Vita was released, they would probably have bought one by now if they were able to. I'm guessing Sony doesn't sell it to press.

Surgeon Simulator is one of those LOLOL Youtube personality games. PewDiePie made it popular when he played it and screamed and pretended to be super annoyed. It's the poster child of a game blowing up because of that dude. It's kinda funny for 30 minutes, but that's about it. "Surgeon Simulator 2013" brings up 315 000 results on Youtube.

A fair share of japanese localised games go through the vita man.

Surgeon Simulator is actually a whole lot of fun. That's pretty much the appeal. Fun. So it doesn't fit very well in the modern gaming landscape.

I also enjoyed those early TR games. TR1 and 2 on playstation - I remember I kept phoning my friend to get help through TR2 probably because I was an idiot. I didn't have internet back then. TR3 I bought for PC, but it was in a weird collection thing. Like, I think there were two distinct games in the box, so I guess it had to be TR4 that came with it. Either way, I hit a brick wall in both games and couldn't figure out what to do and abandoned them. I definitely then bought chronicles for the playstation, and can't remember if I loved or hated it. I remember it getting some heavy criticism when it came out, but I'm pretty sure I played it to completion.

You justify it by sharing it between Giant Bomb and GameSpot, both who could use a Vita dev it.

But it's probably right that Sony just isn't letting devkits--and reasonably so--to non-devs. I will add that my stumbling on the Metrcio "review commentary" seems to be a one off. By and large, IGN does NOT seem to have videos like that. So it sounds like they may have somehow got their hands on one for that video, or just acquired one.

We'll see if the Vita TV solves this somehow, or if the homebrew/hacking/modding community can make a difference.

Really odd, this.

Normally I don't mind Chris Watters when he co-hosts with Danny - bit boring but harmless. However seeing him host and hype that Blizzard event just now is fucking gross. I hope Danny gets to stay a million miles from that shit.

Sites are struggling for money and shutting down, I get it, but getting further in bed with publishers isn't the answer. Between that and Gamespot's sponsored Call of Duty show, they're really damaging themselves. I hope Jeff can keep Giant Bomb unaffected by growing the membership.

BRB - Buying Rex Rocket.

I was hoping they'd do a QL for it and Beast was totally on the ball. They are keeping a good eye on Steam releases for sure.

They should do an Unfinished for Mini Metro, doesn't have to be long but the game deserves highlighting. Been playing it since the early alpha stages and it hit Early Access very recently.

Have a link?

If they were available then Gamespot would have half a dozen of them. Cost cutting is only a recent thing. Was it Drew that mentioned them (GS) having a whole crate full of Go Pro cameras with the batteries fucked?

Anime streaming service that provides subs for shows either in conjunction with their air date or quickly after.

I don't remember them being Go Pros but cheap cameras they bought in bulk off of one of those websites.

Or something. I don't know.

But your point is taken.

Glad you liked that one. Was worried my dying over and over would give a poor impression of a really fun game.

I downloaded Mini Metro but it doesn't have any audio yet. Thought it was a bit too early to look at. Seems pretty neat though.

So did we ever find out what the crazy thing yesterday was?

GB is opening a zoo. Only has a bear and a bunch of snakes in it so far, though.

As long as you're aware of it, I'm happy! I actually haven't bought into Early Access, yet (too many games!) but yeah, the alpha didn't have any sound so.. makes sense.

Keep rocking! :)
