The Order 1886 Gamescom Gameplay Trailer

I still don't understand the doubts about the game from the community. Looks great, art is very cool and if they don't screw up with the story then it will be awesome, I like the gameplay too.
People just say the gameplay is boring because of the slow pace, I think that pace is the best for this dark themed game. :)

Between QB and 1886, I'm not sure who's bringing the best graphics to the table, but in terms of gameplay, it looks like they're neck and neck in a race to the middle. I imagine that both games are going to have to bank hard on their respective stories and characters.

I'd say QB looks like it has more fun gameplay.

Graphics, though? The Order laughs at QB:

I hope it's more Gears of War than The Last of Us. The former has a sense of weight and punch to the weapons you can't find anywhere else. It's gunplay is king. The latter does have some nice meaty hand-to-hand combat, but nothing I'd miss if removed... in fact the melee attacks look canned in 1886 (which would be fine by me).

I'm intrigued to see how they handle a system that utilises both soft and hard cover options. Learning the intricacies of the Gears of War cover system was a real joy and made the act of moving around incredibly satisfying. I do however really appreciate the fluidity of the soft cover system, which I feel Tomb Raider really nailed.

I really hope they can successfully blend the action of Gears of War, the suspense of Resident Evil and the pacing of Uncharted together to create something truly unique.

The tone, aesthetic and weapons are a good start.

It better not feel U3 pre patch. That was pretty bad. I was hoping for the weight I felt in TLOU or similar.

It's a good thing they're 'strongly considering' a photo mode :)

Shiiieeet. That would be amazing.

The Gamescom trailer gave me a very TLOU vibe as far as weight wont know until we get our hands on it but that's the vibe I got from it. Yea its starting to look like all PS4 1st party or exclusive games will have photo mode which I think is a good thing.

Looks really good. Not sure how I feel about the aspect ratio though. Those black bars will take some time to get used to.

Heads up to any Canadians who are hyped for this and don't have a PS4 yet.

If you buy a PS4 at EBGames this week, you get 30$ off on a pre-order of a selection of games, and that selection includes The Order.

It took him a long while to realise you're supposed to fire the thermite phosphor before the spark lol. Not the greatest demo in the world, but I guess it's a very early game taster.

There are a few things they could have touched up though. For example when the grenade got thrown ending their game, that should have blown Galahad up for kicks. Instead it just blacked out before the explosion went off.

I also think the ally AI should move out the way of cover quicker when you want to use it. The friendly AI on the right didn't seem to want to give up his spot lol. I suppose it's understandable from a realism perspective, but for gameplay maybe they should dash out to another cover spot quickly.

Aside from that, cover and the thermite rifle look fun to use.

Has there been anything even remotely close to this or Driveclub on Xbox One? Wondering if IQ like this is possible on the bone.

Also, what headphones is the guy wearing in the IGN video? Have PlayStation logos but definitely not any of the released ones...

That scene looks like a cinematic. I actually love the gameplay they have shown. I know it seems similar to Uncharted, but I loved that too. The small gunfights could get very tactical with good AI. Sneaking around and looking for an opening while finding cover was very fun for me.

Personally, I get kind of turned off by the fact that I feel like I could watch a non commentary walk through of this game and get the exact same experience that I would if I were to buy it myself and play it. Also, I'm not big on paying $60 bucks for a 1 time play through game...

Exact same experience without firing a shot? Not sure if thats true.

If you don't want to pay $60 wait till it gets cheaper. Glad I could solve these issues for you.

The thing RAD need to remember to do is give us a multitude of cover or movement options in gunfights or encounters. Don't force us to just hang back behind one piece of cover for 5 minutes. The beauty of Last of Us and Uncharted is that there is actually a lot of dynamism and tactical options available to tackle encounters. Cover spanning both horizontally across arena's, and vertically too. Then there's the different ways you can approach, silent assassin, stealth, all out carnage, precision mobile, precision hanging back and picking people off etc etc. Give us options. That way there's not only more creativity permitted in gunfights, but also more replayability.

Quantum Break defiantly

Might be a controversial opinion, but I actually think Ryse is more graphically impressive than Quantum Break. But there's still plenty of time till release, so it's too soon to form such a judgement or opinion.

Thanks for posting this and as I suspected it is the exact same demo from E3. Shit still looks absolutely amazing it also seems like a very early introductory section. This like the Last of Us seems like a game that needs to be played on harder levels to get the best experience out of it. Cannot wait to see more especially the stealth section they snuck into the newest trailer.

Quantum Break defiantly

Quantum Break looks very very good but the Order absolutely looks leagues ahead of it visually. The order looks so good to the point where I am not sure I will believe it is running on PS4 hardware until I have it running in my PS4. Look at the Video posted on this page that IQ is staggering.

Yea had to look at it again this is more along the lines of Infamous SS and I am not sure it looks better than Infamous.

I can see why you don't want to spend money on The Order, since you've clearly played it enough to know that the replay factor is exactly 0. Thanks for the heads up, maybe I'll Gamefly this little bad boy after all.

He didn't play it, man, he watched the trailers, which is the full experience anyways, so yeah, he played it.

This has to be one of the most perplexing opinions that I see with alarming frequency on GAF. Not about this game. But ANY GAME. The whole point of a game is interactivity. Watching a video will NEVER provide the same experience as playing the damned thing. No matter how "cinematic" or "non-game" it is.

That's the first thing i tought when i saw the full QB demo. Still very good graphically and with a good artstyle and particular chromatic palette (that imho contributes to help the game looking better with that dark feel ala kz2). But the order really is amazing, it looks like cg at times, and have an incredible artstyle too.
