Should click after the first hour. It's basically a fast paced maze game. Go balls the wall and be okay with dying. You have to take risks. Eventually it becomes memorization of the level and you start to strategize ways to tackle specific sections in the level as you start to memorize level layout and AI placement.
If you are timid or try to take sections of the level slow, you will die. But dying and quickly jumping back in and trying over and over is normal.
Its kind of the appeal of the game. I admit that when I first played it I found it frustrating. But once you get into it the game becomes addicting. Its just intense as hell and it feels so good clearing levels. But you have to get used to dying.
Was thinking the same thing. Looks like it could be awesome but there's no impressions out there. If Sony and the dev want people to take advantage of the option to pre-order then they really need to make sure some reviews happen.

CounterSpy didn't do well in previews last year, specifically IGN's preview from gamescom 2013. The game was delayed from it's 2013 release so Dynamighty could polish it, but the initial criticisms still make me kind of wary.
Delta is so different, it deserves to have its own demo like it did japan(which you could play against those who own full game) but got to hand it to scea/scee for dropping the game like it doesn't exist at all without a demo.
I say BUY it. 60 hour of SS that doesn't look as good and broken balance isn't better than delta.
I said it was curious, not a bad thing. SAO's strength as an anime, I think, was in its pacing. It's easy to focus on the silly stuff like the
"new" bad guy, incesty stuff, etc.
, but I also think it was a good exploratory contrast to the aftermath of the first half. Kirito said
the fight wasn't over, even though they weren't trapped anymore. It was true, they weren't free from the horror yet. Him discovering he was playing with his sister was a neat twist, and there were emotional challenges to overcome because of it. It wasn't just brother/sister waifu love just cause'.
So, yes, it did a lot of stuff wrong, but as a whole story I think it did a lot of things right by changing it up. Since the SAO game is taking place exclusively in the Alfheim setting as a spinoff/continuation of the first half, those on the fence should choose to play the game as a subject of its own merit, and not that of the anime that inspired it -- but it's that much easier to get into and understand having seen the anime. I think part of the draw is seeing how much of the anime and MMO mechanics from it translated to a playable video game. If you deny yourself the anime (even the second half), you're denying yourself the little details that make it special.
Yes. But their romane isn't as heavily featured in Season 2. And they are separated for the majority of the second half of season 1. There is instead a bizarre focus on Kirito's sister being in love with him. In fact it's a major focus of the second half and the season even ends with it. Very bizarre how the plot shifts focus IMO.

do they ever expand on their relationship in season 2 at all or even at all in the latter half of one? Sorry to hit you with all this, but before I invest in the game coming out and the next episodes, I am curious.

Not really. They are still dating in Season 2. But there is more focus on another female protagonist that IS not interested in Kirito. She's actually bad ass. As such, Kirito + this girl are doing their own adventure. So Kirito + Asuna spending time together doesn't happen that often in the second Season's arc. I don't read the Light Novels, so maybe someone can tell you whether their romance is developed more as the series goes on. But it's not focused that much on in Season 2..at least so far. I think I've read that it stays true for the second half as well (what will be the second half of Season 2). The first half isn't done yet.

Well, they are. But most of the season still takes place in a different game world. It has guns and is more like sci-fi apocalyptic wasteland shooter game. So there are scenes in the real world. But after the first couple of episodes it shifts back to being in the game for a lot of the time.
And yeah...SAO isn't the best when it comes to pacing/transitions. The plot jumps around alot and covers a lot of time quickly.

Good grief. Decided to check out Bound by Flame for PS4. Literally 5 minutes into the game, I jerked out of my chair awake and realized I was walking into a wall. THE GAME PUT ME TO SLEEP. This is going to be a slog.
Honestly, that has been the case for me to :l; almost all the major 1st party PS Vita games landed on Plus already (outside of the obvious cases with Killzone and Tearaway; they are just way to new to be added).
I do think it will land on PS+, maybe a month before LBP3 to advertise the game (could be a smart move; the core gameplay minus the Vita-centric features will be in the PS4/PS3 versions). I could also see this happen with Tearaway too (but then again, Sony must want to make more money back on that, thus one of the reasons of it coming to PS4).
Either way, if it doesn't come to plus by this holiday, I will pick it up myself . The game is reportedly the best LBP game so far with the best single player levels and really smart usage of the Vita hardware. You know, it is cool how MM's IPs (LBP and Tearaway) are the only games to really push the Vita and nail it perfectly .
Regarding this sale, you can't beat 10 bucks man . If you are really interested in this game, get it . Never seen it cheaper then 10 bucks yet or it even being on PSN with a Plus Discount.
I'm sure this has been asked a bazillion times already. But has anyone tried Mind Zero on here? I've heard like REALLY negative things about the title. I'm always itching for a Persona style RPG (hence why I even played Conception II and beat it lol).
Now, I don't ever expect these games to be as good as Persona. I keep my expectations low. And even something like Conception that was really flawed and weird, I ended up enjoying the combat for the most part. Will I at least get that out of Mind Zero?

I already beat Demon Gaze, loved it. But holy hell that game was hard for me (because I suck). I think I put 100 hours into it before I beat it. So worth the money. TBH I didn't even know Mind Zero was a first person dungeon crawler (that's how out of the loop I am).
I guess I should have started by watching some videos/reviews. I had it in my head that it was like Persona/Conception where you enter the dungeon and run around lool. But once you actually engage in combat, it's like Persona 3-4 right?
EDIT: Just watched a video..nope. So it's basically 100% dungeon crawler. Okay. Well glad I checked in here first. I don't mind those games, but it seems like everyone hates this title.

Yeah, I just started watching some videos on it. And based on everything I'm reading, it sounds like the full price is too much for the kind of game it is.

As someone that enjoyed it quite a bit, I'm curious...what was annoying about the localization? And couldn't you have just gone to the Japanese Voice acting w/subs? Or was it something beyond that?
Really impressed by the amount of content in the Disgaea 4 demo. It scratches my itch enough to almost not get the full game. Now should I buy Akiba's Trip, Sword Art Online, or stick to my original plan (Disgaea 4) this month?

I missed this post yesterday. But SAO is definitely worth the money, just in terms of the sheer amount of content there is. Like, if you are trying to make your money count, then that's the kind of game you buy and it holds you over for a month (possibly months depending on how you play it). Definitely one of the best value's I've seen with a game in a couple years.
That said, it depends on whether it's the kind of game for you (in terms of the combat/story genre etc.) I personally think the combat in the game is really excellent.

Though I do enjoy the odd Japanese game, it turns out I'm not the kind of person who finds prefixing 'bro' to everything funny. The text in the game drove me insane.
It's also janky as hell, so I can definitely do without it. Money back in my pocket and more Soul Sacrifice Delta/Dragon's Crown/Muramasa time. I still haven't touched any of Muramasa's DLC.
I've played through the story mode nearly twice already and haven't encountered anything that bad. Some other games have horrible localzations - though this one strays a lot from the original spoken Japanese it still stays pretty true to form as far as atmosphere and the general things said.
The Giant Bomb quick look sadly confirmed my preconceived notion about it being a game that's better experienced while under the influence. It looks interesting and quirky but I'm sure I'd tire of it pretty fast.
I haven't been posting here frequently but otherwise I'd be talking about it. Absolutely love it, the atmosphere is amazing, especially thanks to the art style. I've still gotta play more of it though.
Amazing, played it last year though. There was a "console version" not-quite-OT thread somewhere around here. Dont' have much to add, other than if you liked The Swapper you might like The Fall (in terms of theme and atmosphere, different gameplay). It's PC only though, not PS4.
