He fled, now possibly shots darted past him, not hitting. He's scared and knows that he can't get away, trapped, so he turns around and surrenders himself. The cop unloads from a distance anyway.

Was it cleared up whether or not he was shot in the back at all?

Initial autopsy states there were no wounds in the back. 4 shots hit him in the interior side of his right arm on the front, and 2 shots hit him in the head

Clearly the terrorists are using children as human shields.

If I was a parent in the area, I probably wouldn't have my kids outside around there.

None of the shots fired at his back hit. He likely realized the murdered was shooting at him and turned around to plead/surrender and was shot.

Nope upper body chest area

Yup. However not all cops have tazers. Mace is used at short to midrange.

If he was 35 feet away then he wasnt a threat. So cop should be arrested.

The officer's arsenal not including less lethal means of subduing someone is in and of itself an enormous problem in the United States.

The autopsy stresses that more information is needed, but this seems to be important:

He was shot in his arm 4 times on the interior side, which lines up with if he had his hands up surrendering. If he was charging at the officer, unless he runs absurdly weird, the wounds would be on the outside of the arm
Yea, could have been he had his arms up in defensive position while getting shot.

But holy crap, one bullet caused 5 wounds.

Not looking to create an iPhone vs Android argument, but if you're going to use a phone to cover something like this, why not use one that allows you to switch out batteries?

The guy who did the fucking autopsy said it didn't provide enough information to reconstruct the shooting, but the posters in this thread think they can do it based on the NYT article about the autopsy.

Whatever. Write whatever story feeds your outrage the most.

Dunno man, is pretty hard to explain two head shots after a initial shooting.

How many shots did the witnesses say they heard? I find it hard to believe the cop missed every shot in the back and even while Mike turned the cop missed and didn't land a side shot, then lands the last front facing 6.

Most witnesses say they heard 1 or 2 shots from behind. Landing the shots isn't a matter of which way he's facing. The shots to the back he was running away aka a moving target. It's most likely when he turned around to surrender he stopped moving giving the cop time to properly aim.

At this point yes we don't know enough, but people are using information the examiner did not have (according to the article) like the eye witness accounts.

Agreed.

Sidenote: Oh shit, I know you, you're that really good Cracked writer.

To give context, the curfew wasn't supposed to happen. This was supposed to be a peaceful protest. She probably let him out because he really wanted to be out there since this is something important. I would do the same. She didn't expect there to be teargas and rubber bullets

Nm, found it; wow, a cop really said that to a reporter. Or I'll shoot you in the face.

The face.

I mean come on guys.
Forgetting about the wrongness of it for a sec, how stupid do you have to be to utter a thread like that in front of cameras? It's either a failing of basic intelligence, or just a complete lack of people skills. Both of which you would think, would be required to hold a badge.

Were there bullet holes?
Yes?
I'm outraged.

Yeah let's blame parents for police throwing tear gas at their children.

People this is happening in a public area. There's no telling what the circumstances are for the people affected.

Or a cop failing to grasp the smartphone era of "this shit is getting live one way of another".

Been at work all day, but I gather since the autopsy didn't fit the narrative of what the family/witnesses were saying the family asked for another one? And now there's 3 being performed? I haven't been up to date since I don't have access at work, but from what I'm seeing, no bulletholes to the back is a pretty big problem with the previous story of what happened.
