Lesnar didn't really struggle in the Taker fight.

The only thing that was struggle was the build up to it. Shit was honestly terrible to me.

The buildup was 100% intentional. Unlike years past they didn't even pretend the guy facing Taker had a shot, so when it actually happened it was more surreal.

Like Lesnar should have beaten the shit out of Taker. But you weren't supposed to believe it till it happened.

Daniel Bryan vs Brock at Wrestlemania would be awesome. Id be ok with either of them winning the match.

It's the best match-up the WWE could possibly have, a dream match from a pure wrestling standpoint and 100% worthy of a Wrestlemania main event. It's not going to happen but it's nice to dream.

struggled? he killed taker

Actually that's a fair point as I just remember the match being a struggle to watch which led me to believe it went on for long enough for me to think Taker at least got some offence in. Needless to say my point still stands that the past two years of competitive matches/losses killed this moment for me.

Taker interference is the only way I can see Brock losing at Mania now. Like a leaping Tombstone onto the steel steps for a battered Reigns to roll onto him or something...

You forgot that Brock wasn't quite at a 100% percent of his full power during those matches until tonight. And all those matches only served to build himself back up to peak performance in order to utterly massacre Cena.

Reigns isn't the next Cena, he's the next Orton. They 100% thought Orton would be the next face of the company. Third generation, tall, good looking, great "look", pedigree, grooming, the works. But Orton, while he's a great wrestler, lacks in other areas (and had personal problems) and he never got to that number one position in the end.

Now Reigns doesn't have Orton's personal problems, but I can't imagine he'll ever be on Orton's level as a wrestler. But he seems like he's gonna peter out at a number 2 or 3 spot.

Orton never in the #1 position :lol. Guess that means Savage is worthless too.

They need to add weapons to a D.Bry vs Brock match to make it conceivable for Brock to lose.
Kind of, yeah.

It's like people forget Eddie Guerrero beat Lesnar. Of course, it took Goldberg interferrence and a reverse F5-DDT on the belt to get the pin.

CM Punk-Lesnar booking was that opposite, and why I dont like it too much.

Never said Orton was worthless. Just that he fell short of their expectations all those years ago.

He's a heel not a face. Top heel is equal to top babyface, not less than.

Orton's been top heel since he beat HHH in that last man standing match at No Mercy 2007.

His 609 days as WWE Champ is the longest of any heel. Even HHH.

People talking "believability" in a "sport" where little Taz from the block was, at one point, the baddest man in wrestling.

People talking "believability" in a "sport" where 108 year old Undertaker didn't get crushed into a fine power by Brock Lesnar.

People talking "believability" in a "sport" where 6 1/2 pound Rey Mysterio routinely beat guys triple his height and weight with one of the most convoluted finishers in the history of action based theater.

those last two were stupid, and people complained it was stupid at the time.

We get that wrestling is fake, but there needs to be some believability.

You're not following. They thought, in 2002-2004, that Orton would be where Cena is, in the top face of the company position. He had "all the tools" much like Reigns, yet in the end it didn't work out. He has been a success and one of their top stars, but he was never "the guy" like they thought he would be. The same may easily happen with Reigns.

That's just because "They Guy" can't be Heel. Every Wrestlemania ends with a babyface going over for a reason.

Orton was a face from 2009-2013, and from 2004-2005. He wasn't groomed to be "number two guy and main heel", he was groomed to be "number one guy in the company". What Cena is now to the company, is what they thought Orton would be during his rookie years in Evolution. It turned out differently from how they expected, that's my point.

He was groomed to be a top guy and he is. There can only be one Cena. They push guys who they think can get over to as far as they can get over. I feel like you're overthinking this and over guessing Vince's mind set.

Dude was supposed to be the top star back when they first started pushing him, and ended up behind Cena, Batista, Triple H, Undertaker, Shawn and probably even Edge for years. I'm sure he fell far below expectations. How many of those days as champion are from these past four years when everone bigger than him basically retired? It doesn't mean anything. The roster has been terrible for years now. Del Rio was a multiple time World Champion and Rumble winner.

So I wasn't paying attention to any of the diva matches... But why did Nikki go heel and betray her sister for Steph? She trying to go diva authority to get a diva title run?

My point here is that circa 2002-2004, Cena was NOT planned to be the top guy, Orton was. Cena ended up being the guy instead, and they ran with him in the end.
So they can "plan" for Roman Reigns to be the next top guy but it's no guarantee it actually happens.

Reigns is just going to be another person for Brock to dominate. Then CM Punk wins the rumble as a surprise entrant and beats brock at wrestlemania.

or not.

Nikki's been getting put in handicap matches and getting the shit kicked out of her since Battleground, and all because of Brie quitting and slapping Steph with no concern of what might happen to her as a result, pretty logical honestly

Orton stopped being good when he captured the wwe title in late 2007, that was the beginning of the end. Basically, when he started walking slowly, going down the road leading to becoming mr. Voices, it's a stupid gimmick that adds nothing to the mic skills. "Hi, I'm a bad guy, I'm crazy and I kick people in the head". Remember the history behind Orton and "This Fire Burns"? Well, Punk ended up spitting way more venom as a heel in one year with the SES than Orton has done as The Viper in a career.

I think Orton was good as the legend killer and when he had just started punting people. It was his face turn after that killed his momentum -- years of "My name... is Randy Orton..." being every promo will do that.

He just doesn't work well as a face, other than the "out of nowhere!" finisher.
