Not to mention white race riots, which is a bunch of white people burning black people out of their homes and jobs. See the Cicero Race Riot or the Tulsa Race Riot.

Or even the East Saint Louis Riots.

I certainly want justice brought I just don't think the witness testimony is going to be the smoking gun evidence that they need to convict. Hoping something comes of the fbi investigation and I bet it does.
There doesn't need to be a smoking gun. The standard is beyond a reasonable doubt. You want eyewitnesses in a trial because it shifts the burden on the defense to present a plausible alternate narrative to the prosecution's.

That's why they spent so much time on eyewitnesses in the Zimmerman trial. Unfortunately, in Z's trial, none of the eye/ear-witnesses had a direct, unobstructed view of the action. This is not the case here.

In trial, the 5+ witnesses will force the defense to present an alternative narrative of what happens so that Wilson can clear himself. If that narrative is not plausible (because it's going to have to explain how these 5+ other people mis-saw what they saw, and match the physical evidence), then Wilson is probably in trouble. Saying 5+ people who don't know each other are lying and you (the perp.) are the only one that is telling the truth does not sow reasonable doubt. And this assumes we don't have any physical evidence to corroborate the witness testimony.

The robbery footage didn't work for the PD so now they're going for "marijuana in the system".

smh at this damn police. They're acting one-dimensional mustache twirling villains right now.

Leaked from a source inside the prosecutors office too.

It's disgusting that Washington Post even went to print with that shit.

More people than ever support the legalization of weed here in the US.

It'll just make the racists more certain that Brown was a crazed black man who needed to be put down.

Exactly. This won't change the opinion of the people who already see Mike Brown as a thug. Just reinforces it for them.

Most Americans want weed legal. The media will try to spin it otherwise but to most Americans this really shouldn't matter.

My concern is the testimony could be conflicting. Some say he was shot in the back but that may not be verified by the forensic evidence.

Ferguson police all like "You activated my trap card!".

If that's their trap card, they suck at this game

The audacity of even mentioning that to the reporting is sickening because it's so very clear what the county examiner is attempting. We'll still have droves of fools saying "well now, this changes everything..."

Pretty much. It got leaked? From the prosecutors office? Well, the narrative you want to employ is pretty obvious now.

It won't matter in the end. The media isn't on their side, and they aren't coming back.

Not only is he a repeat armed robber but now we have extensive and proven evidence that he's a drug kingpin. This is a huge get for the good guys.

The post is allowing itself to be a tool here. Just because you have a tip doesn't mean you should run it particularly whenthe report with actual details will soon come out. If that was the prosecutors office, then there could be serious repercussions for that leak. Serious.

Michael Brown was shot in the head and chest multiple times, according to Mary Case, the St. Louis County medical examiner.

While Case declined to comment further, citing the ongoing investigation into Brown’s death, another person familiar with the county’s investigation told The Washington Post
that Brown had between six and eight gunshot wounds and was shot from the front.

In addition, Brown had marijuana in his system when he was shot and killed by a police officer on Aug. 9 in Ferguson, according to this person, who spoke on the condition of anonymity because of the ongoing investigation.

So it wasn't even the medical examiner that they got this from, just some random dude who happened to know all of these things. Riiight

First people complain that they're covering things up and hiding information, now they share things like this and the robbery video and suddenly they're the bad guys?

Police can't win against the bigots.

Wow, I misread that. I thought Case released that info.

Not only that, but the family's attorney has said that he hasn't been made aware of any MJ found in Browns body.

Probably because the professionals are able to discern between relevant and irrelevant information as it pertains to the case.

G20 riots, G8 riots, my sports team lost riots...

I remember in Boulder while I was visiting for a summer one time they rioted because the police said they could no longer burn couches in the middle of the street.

Remember when students of Penn State rioted because a beloved football coach got fired for his involvement in a child sex abuse scandal?

You really think Rand Paul represents their views? Not to mention this is only speaking about demilitarization and not about any of the other issues surrounding Ferguson.
All that said he's still given a better response to this than Obama, so that's kind of embarrassing.

Apparently weed makes people aggressive now...whenever I smoked I would get comfy on my couch and listen to some music and stuff my face.
If anything weed chills you out, there's a reason it's used as herbal medicine.

But apparently to these folks it has the same effects as crack or meth.

I guess they should know, they're the experts (of bullshit)

It's true, here's some actual footage of what happens when you smoke weed.

Also the whole character assassination aside, the town is still a god damn mess.
Nothing excuses the response that followed the shooting in my book.

Toxicology reports are standard operating procedures and it's the media that you should focus your displeasure for in regard to the BS headline about cannabis.

known as "beast mode" (as it is called by violent loud mouthed thug athletes), this cannabis drug rage involves becoming the earthly avatar of ancient tribal witch-gods, impervious to flinching and granting a +5 to defense and offense

"And of course, Michael Brown's addiction to marijuana drove him to steal from the corner store, precipitating this entire chain of events. Would he still be around today if we had stricter policing and harsher sentencing for drug abusers? Probably. Also, a strong burden falls on members of the community to curb acceptance of drug culture and thug mentalities. Acceptance of crime leads to results like these"

I joke now but dread seeing the local news reiterate this same garbage tonight

They're not that bad. They're more conservative than the NYT, but don't do them like that lol. The information they provide is reliable 99.9% of the time.

I'm sure that someone from the St. Louis prosecutor's office told them about the MJ... but they don't need to be running with information like this from a source unless they're 100% sure that the source isn't spreading FUD.

We'll know for sure either way soon... and it doesn't really matter much in any case. I don't see the presence of MJ affecting the altercation between Brown and Wilson. It wasn't crack or anything.

Get this bullshit out of here. White people smoke and become calm and thoughtful. It's funny.

Blacks smoke and, due to a volatile reaction between THC and fast twitch muscle fibers, become very violent and even faster and stronger than usual.
