Curfew is gone!

Wonder if it was on the advice of the National Guard commanders...

So was the curfew for police safety also? Now that he has the national guard to defend the police, the curfew is no longer necessary. Am I getting that right?

So when is Obama going to make a statement? I know it's a state thing but it's getting international attention from NGOs like Amnesty, and the broader social issue is definitely a national one. Right now as a leader he looks like he's more scared of offending his opponents than reassuring the people affected by this.

I get what you're going for, but it wouldn't be impossible for someone to spin that as him knowingly doing something that was federally illegal and illegal in his home state, of which he'd be returning to.

Not saying it makes sense, but I can imagine there's ways to spin it regardless of its irrelevancy.

But if I flew from the UK to Amsterdam smoked a joint and came back I wouldn't expect to be treated like a criminal on my return, despite still having MJ "in my system" for another, what, 30 days. The law isn't against having MJ in the system, and no local laws were broken at any point. This seems simple to me.

That said, I'm not sure if America's federal system is analogous to my example above.

If I was a DA I'd layer you with trafficking charges.

He's being briefed today (might have already happened), so possibly late on today.

Darren Wilson's face doesn't look messed up.

It's grainy yea, but his face looks alright.

Oh! And this is a new witness that corresponds with the other witnesses. Tried to pull Brown into the car, Wilson shoots while Browns running and Brown is shot multiple times when he turns around.

God CNN, "hearing you on the video you sound really upset." Really?

I'm no lawyer, but I do know that the US and other nations can and have justified use of extraterritorial jurisdiction laws in the past. Granted, those were in the case of more heinous crimes like child prostitution in foreign countries or terroristic activities. Totally different circumstances I know, I'm more just trying to explain that while you shouldn't expect to be prosecuted you certainly can be.

Not saying the kid should, or would be charged either. I'm simply saying that if you want to assassinate someone's character it's pretty easy to do from simply spinning this.

But I'm white...

Yeah, that's a shame really. The thing is, it's basically preaching to the converted isn't it? The only people that are going to look at that headline and go "There you are, he was a thug", they already thought that surely?

She also prefaced it by saying "I couldn't see/tell what was going on, but it think...."

I'm surprised she wasn't asked if it gets old quickly.

There's no empathy there.

Reminds me of the GAFer who had his car totaled when the pipe burst at UCLA. Said he was interviewed asking how he felt about his car being stuck underwater. How do they think he feels? It should be pretty obvious, right? 24hr news cycles man

'I feel like I'm drowning...in debt because of this car'
