PlayStation Network Thread (Vita/PS3/PS4) | August 2014

For some reason, I'm having difficulty playing FFX for more than 30 minutes at a time. At this rate, I'll probably finish it in 5 years. ~_~

It took me a while to get into it, too. Once you start farming spheres and monsters, though... I'm at around 90 hours now. I never expected to put in that much time. There's so much I haven't done yet.

But Destiny...

How much you spend on SSD, get all DLC and hundreds of hours online full experience?
17.19 cents.
+$2 Japanese voice pack (doesn't impact online experience, optional)

How much you spend on Destiny to get all DLC and full experience online?
$60
+35 for season pass/ to get everything.
+not announced non season pass dlc that happen all the time

This might come to PS+ tho
best price for best game on vita that is not a port/was ported to another system.

BUY IT.

Sinon isn't in Aincrad in the Light Novel either. She's in the game because fan service, that's the only reason.

Yea Sinon is actually throwing me off a bit, not sure if I should watch some of season 2 to know her character before playing or if they basically made her unique in the game. Anyway, my internet is going to explode tomorrow, gotta download SAO and Xillia 2 on my 4G WiMax connection, oh boy.

Everyone buy this game. I have 80 hours on my Asian import copy and I still haven't beaten any of the 2 arcs, nor have I touched the 30hr patched content. Game is craaaaazy huge, a lot of meat on this bone. If you enjoy RPGs, stats, and want to try a different type of gameplay (skill based with cool downs, like MMOs) you can't go wrong. I'm calling it right now, this is going to be the next Persona 4 Golden.

what game are you talking about?

I did my share... now in the process of downloading. What do I get for a reward? :)

Good thing there are nogaems!

Just bought SS:D. Now the question is, on what should I spend my 48 bucks... It's either Disgaea 4 or Sword Art Online or Danganronpa 2... or maybe I should just keep it.

7 hours was my total.

That's pretty low for a game asking 39.99.

That's a pretty bold statement.
It's also super hyperbolic. This game isn't as good as P4G, period. It's a huge seller in Japan because of the anime's popularity. I think people are hyping this up way too much around here, going in with no expectations you will be pleasantly surprised but if you're expecting something that is the "next P4G" you're going to be disappointed.

Sword Art Online: Hollow Fragment.

Buy either Disgaea 4 or Danganronpa 2. I can't choose!
I also skipped most of the side missions in the game so that could have resulted in my low playtime. I've had my fill right now, I may come back to it one day and go for the Platinum trophy since it seems easy enough.
Right now I must focus on Disgaea 4 and Danganronpa 2.

Good job on SS:D, great game, it deserves the support.

Disgaea 4 or Danganronpa 2 should definitely be higher priority than SAO:HF. I'd personally say Danganronpa 2 since I've never played the Disgaea series, but I'm keen to try it out with 4.

I would appreciate if you sold me on the game, I haven't read any impressions..

What would you like to know? I've played it a lot, so if there's a question you have, I'd probably be able to answer it.

My gripes are an inability to invite PSN friends or remap controls, a lack of weapon variety (there's only four) and some odd difficulty spikes. Those faults aren't big enough to say it's unworthy of the small price tag, though. I think the game's a lot of fun and wouldn't have poured hours into it if I didn't think so.

There's a cash shop, but I've basically completed all of the races/challenges and have never had to spend a dime. It looks like it's just there if you want a certain car/upgrade and are too impatient to grind (it's a racing game, and almost every event earns you coins, so is it grinding or just playing the game?) a bunch of races.

I read it and by the time I read like, the fifth sentence the terms and content start to overwhelm my puny brain, hahaha. I literally have no idea about all the crazy terms you mention in your guide. Maybe later I'll get back to it once I delve into the game a bit.

Buy either Disgaea 4 or Danganronpa 2. I can't choose!

Disgaea 4 looks like a game that I can play for hundreds of hours (and I adore cute aesthetics which Disgaea has plenty) whereas Danganronpa 2 is more like play and forget kind of thing... but man, I do kind of want to know what happens next in DR 2 in a crazy kind of way, hahaha.

Ah man...........

Buy Super Danganronpa 2. Just do it. It's such an incredible game to go through for the first time, and everyone should play it. Danganronpa itself is just a really good game, and a great beginning to a series/franchise. Danganronpa 2 is seriously the better game. Honestly, the FIRST TRIAL of the DR2 is better than any of the ones in DR1.

If it means anything, I was spoiled bits and pieces and even significant parts of DR2 (ex who gets murdered and how plus the final trial) and the game is so insane that those spoilers don't do any justice to how crazy it is.

Oh, Aincrad? Then yeah. Fan service. Isn't that the entire purpose of these Anime Based Games?
*Buys One Piece Pirate Warriors 2*

Yeah yeah. Price equivalencies. I stopped caring about such thing right around the time I stopped caring about my backlog. But before I went apeshit after y'all completely dismissing my RPG games (Soul Sacrifice Vanilla, Final Fantasy 5 & 6 PS1 Ports, Everything Else) and picking up a 3DS, I was really enjoying Soul Sacrifice. And I'd like to continue playing it. There's no super glaring flaws yeah?

Anyway, I need to type out my funds if I'm gonna do this...
Current Balance : $60.14
-$17.19 - SSD
-$7.50 - One Piece 2
-$5 Minecraft PS4

=$30.45

+$10 Best Buy
+$10 Amazon

=$50.45

$60 - Destiny
$15 - Frozen Synapses Vita (approx)
$20 - Velocity 2X Vita (w/ Free PS4 Version)(approx)

I need $45 between now and Destiny.
$10 for Destiny. $30 for V2X. FS is skippable.
I can do that. Is Tales of Symphonia gonna go one sale at least one more time in the future? It was $10 back in like February. This would be so much easier without SSD. But alas, the heart wants what the heart wants.

Yep, I can't stand him either. Probably my least favorite FF character so far, and I've played the FFXIII games. :(

Lightning was pretty cool imo It was Square that made me dislike her.

Tidus is just so self centered and his VA is so annoying it's perfect for his character haha

The psone emulator for Vita is far from perfect it seems. There are parts in Front Mission 3 where the game literally runs at 2FPS or less with even the sounds and music slowing down. Every time there is smoke in cutscenes the game slows to a crawl. I just did the part where the embassy burns down and where you get Marcus and I was sure the game was about to crash. It was so slow you could see the text boxes slowly open up and stopping midway through only to start again 1-2 sec later.

There is a problem with the smoke rendering in this game.

Damn people want sales every week now. They are normally announced on Monday. So Sorry.

When will the playroom PS4 update ffs. :(

Usually only themed sales are announced Mondays, there's often a completely different set of random sales which don't show up in print until the store update hits the PlayStation Blog.

TL;DR - There's still hope for some sales.

Of course that's my own opinion, I have never heard anyone say that they think Tidus self-centered.
It's not so unbelievable, you could definitely make the case for it, especially early on. So much of his inner monologue is frankly admitting to himself and the player his more selfish and flawed aspects to his personality and motivations. However over the course of the game that evolves into being more of a selfless hero (as opposed to a celebrity athlete with daddy issues).

I think he starts off a bit childish, he lived a pretty easy life in his Zanarkand and he quickly loses all that and all the people he cared about. I think that part of his character is essential to his character growth though, and he matures a lot throughout the story imo.
I don't think any of the choices he makes towards the game considering the consequences can be considered selfish or self-centred.

He's a flawed character but that's what makes him interesting, better than a cut and paste hero.

I haven't beat the game so I don't really know how his character evolves later in the game. All I know that he does 'grow' up as a person but I have yet to experience his growth in game.

I just go to
air ship where you fight the big dragon that is able to instakill you if you aren't careful with how you move the ship

You evil, evil, person. Don't lie to these people and make them despair after getting it digitally thinking that their 4gB cards are still enough. :(

The game is 4333 MB with all DLCs + Another Episode.
It's 4327 MB without anything.

Edit: Also, the "We Expanded Our Games with Burst In Name Alliance" has agreed to not do upgraded/complete versions.

There won't be Senran Kagura 2 Burst. And there won't be a God Eater 2 Burst.

GE2's Append package (which is what GE Burst is) is Another Episode and released as DLC.
Kagura 2's Burst, on the other hand, is a DLC about 5 missions + costumes/accessories.

Reading this, I am reminded that we never got GE2 localized. The gameplay and the story of the first game was great. :(
