Guy just showed Tim an iPhone video of a cop pointing a gun in his face?
Was it plastic? I see people running now.
yeah a water bottle.
Being called that by an African-American Cop is demeaning. Being called that while being a severe minority in school (all grades) is demeaning. Told it's not "white" or "cracker" time to use the restroom is demeaning. When the word is used as insult against your race, that is wrong. It's not me just saying I don't like the word cracker. It's because it has been used against me in a negative racial way. So no I don't like the word "cracker" when if refers to white people, only to Saltines.
Funny that you can relegate when the word "cracker" was used against you to a few moments in time.
Now imagine a word dehumanizing you and being used against you for your entire life in the entirety of your country and not just your school/neighbourhood.
He was talking to a lady earlier. I think her son died during a raid at her own home over a Snicker bar.I clicked on this stream the cops pointed their guns at the camera guy and said, "I will fucking kill you." Yeah.
What are you talking about? Give me an example that you refer to as Dehumanizing or whatever. Are you saying the racially charged words against me was just undermining me?
Why should media move out?
I would imagine that the school life/neighborhood ( from 6 grade until 12th) constitutes my "entire" life in that community. That is why I left. Just because I don't live there doesn't make that word less painful to me.
It's not. At all.
Bet you can think of one.
Who are you to say what I bloody feel like when I'm subject to racist terminology? What gives you the right to tell me how I should feel?
Every night at 12 am. Nice on the line of protesters forming up facing the crowd to try and calm tensions.

Yes, but cracker is a reactionary term toward racist oppression. At the end of the day you are still going to be living in a world that isn't constantly finding ways to oppress you. Derogatory terms used towards People of Colour are used to remind them of a vast history of injustice toward them. It's important to understand what is going on there.
I have the monopoly on being offended. You therefore cannot be offended. That's all I am hearing. As if two unrelated people could possibly be not mutually exclusive in their feelings.Who are you to say what I bloody feel like when I'm subject to racist terminology? What gives you the right to tell me how I should feel?
You had one guy trying to keep things calm at all costs, the other was losing his cool because the media was being ordered away again and knows what's coming if they do get the cameras shushed away.Weirdly one of those guys almost got in a fight with someone trying to calm him down just a minute or so before joining the line.
Yeah I saw that, I wondered if it was just a different guy with the same kind of wrap around his head.
But they're both racial slurs. The history matters but only up to a point; they're both meant to demean and dehumanize the people they're used against. No real person gets offended by cracker....it doesn't even mean anything.
The nword has deep historical meaning and context. Comparing the two is asinine
But don't trivialize my racial experiences because of the color of my skin.
Definitely still tense, but I think everything is going to be okay...I hope. Just one night everyone on both sides, come on.
