They are using the same build, Nintendo brought the same builds to their showcases thus far, also the 4 days apart videos could have even been taken the same day, the person who uploaded on the 18th might have taken it on the 13th. Upload date proves nothing.

One which shows the line changing, another which does not.

There is only one difference between the two videos.

The first video which matches the character having a thicker line on the selected slot, also matches the leak in being a single player match with CPU only.

Your video is a multiplayer video. The one video that does happen to not show the different animation, also happens to not be the same settings. Also notice yours also shows the player 1 slot doesn't have any line at all. So it can not be used. Especially when another video of the same exact circumstances proves it.

Already, actually going to go to sleep soon, but to get more specific with the questions: assuming this is real, how do you guys feel about each revealed newcomer? (Bowser Jr. / Duck Hunt / Dark Pit / Shulk)

Bowser Jr.: I've always really liked him so it's cool to see him. Pretty interested in how he will play with the clown car.

Duck Hunt: Was always my favorite of the out-there retro character choices. I love it.

Dark Pit: whatever. It's Pit with dark clothing waowawowaoaw
I did like Pittoo in Uprising though, so it's cool.

Shulk: I didn't really play much Xenoblade but I like his design and he'd probably be really fun to play as so I'm cool with it.

Already, actually going to go to sleep soon, but to get more specific with the questions: assuming this is real, how do you guys feel about each revealed newcomer? (Bowser Jr. / Duck Hunt / Dark Pit / Shulk)

Bowser Junior - Given the choice, I'd probably want a newcomer from Zelda or Wario, but I'm very susceptible to giving characters a fair chance. Bowser Junior seems pretty neat overall as he is apparently done in this game.

Duck Hunt - Never been against the dog, in fact I used to support it sporadically. Excited to see how it plays!

Dark Pit - I love clones, and I liked Dark Pit, so I'm perfectly fine with him!

Chorus Kids - Obv. happy.

Some points against:

-Yoshi split. People are saying "why is Rosalina separated?". Nintendo just may be including Yoshi as a Mario character despite the fact the he has his own franchise. However, Yoshi has his own icon while Rosalina uses the Mushroom symbol from the Mario franchise. Bowser also shares this symbol, so why would BJr. have a different one?

-Shulk's placement. Why not put Shulk before the clones with the other single rep characters (Olimar, WFT) instead of next to the third party characters? Each row has 9 fighters, except for the last two which have 8 and four. Why not move Shulk up so they all have 9 characters and then the three third party characters and perhaps the Mii box?

I don't like the leak due to the clones, but I might be swayed if they could fit one more good character in there (Mii plus a new character would mean an even 50).

Also is the DLC post from the same person or just someone pretending to be him? I doubt Sakurai would make FIVE DLC characters.

For one thing... The leak has Bowser Jr. use the Mushroom Icon as every Mario Series character does... He's not Baby Bowser, who is generally the villain of the Yoshi Series. He is Bowser Jr, the son of Bowser who has never appeared in a Yoshi franchise game.

As for Shulk, there is a possible reason for his placement. Xenoblade is nominally a Monolith Soft franchise that is owned by Nintendo. However, it seems to also be part of a Xeno Metaseries which also consists of Xenogears and Xenosaga. Thus it could be argued that while officially, Shulk is representing the Xenoblade franchise, he's also conceptually representing the Xeno Metaseries as a whole which had parts owned by Square Enix and Namco... And who is Shulk next to? Pac-Man, Namco's Character.

Given third-party trophies are possible from the inclusion of Rayman, I would not be surprised if KOS-MOS from Xenosaga got a trophy... with the trophy listed alongside the Xenoblade stuff.

Honestly, aside from actually doing something to prove these leaks, Ridley being shown as a boss character would actually be the final nail in the coffin to make me believe without a doubt that these are real.

Side note, today's the anniversary of Sakurai starting the Ridley trolling train.

This sounds too amazing to be true, but if Bowser Junior were in fact in this game riding a Koopa Clown Car, it would make perfect sense since you wouldn't have to animate the different Koopalings as much.

Anyway, characters not showing up on the roster aren't necessarily not in; the leaker said that he or she hadn't unlocked everyone yet. By the looks of things, there is still room for a few more newcomers.

The leaker stated that Ice Climbers, along with Chorus Kids, Lucas, Wolf, and Snake, are DLC. IC and CK make perfect sense why they would be DLC - the idea that Sakurai needed more time for these tandem-style characters.

Considering they're returning it still seems strange though, and he managed to finish Rosalina and Luma. If true it would be super depressing.. But I guess they could be ready not long after the WiiU version launch?

The dog comes from an NES launch title called "Duck Hunt". It was an NPC to the player-character who would scare up ducks for the player-character to shoot, and became infamous for enraging players by laughing if you miss the duck or ducks on screen.

I'm in for #TeamReal. I converted myself after the first set of pictures (just the pictures, the DLC message it's not real for me).

The only detail that makes me doubtful is the fact that the Ice Climbers are cut. I mean... why? I know Sakurai said in the IGN interview after the E3 2013 reveal that it would be difficult for the 3DS version to be capable to have double characters due its tech. But here we are, with Rosalina & Luma in and apparently another duo character too. I presume Duck Hunt it's a double character because its artwork and name. Why not "Duck Hunt Dog" then? There's no problem adding the word "Dog" since we have "Wii Fit Trainer" in a name... "Game" -> "Character in the game".
